I enjoyed watching the way you attack a psinting, bold brave trust in yourself comes across strongly. I always feel at my level just do small painting, devide your painting into 6 or so...to make it easier? Amazed how you fell over the location by chance. The combination of your commentary, photography( cutting in the real scence with your brush strokes) really helps to appreciate how and what to do. Cheers
Hi Steve, It was a lovely location. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Watercolour has a very gentle name, however it does require an attack. Hope your pain is going well. James
Love the way you interpret color in your paintings! Beautiful blues and greens set off by the neutrals and highlights of your signature white. Love it!
Hi Kathy, So please do enjoy the painting. It was a very subtle colour scheme as the light was very subdued but the white paint always makes it a little bit more lively. Thanks for watching, James
Myx2nd Tim watching your Iona beach painting process. I still have yet to find my drWng done from a photo that I took when there. I appreciate the time that you put into your videos and you explaining your painting process.
Hi Catherine, Glad you enjoyed the Iona painting. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t found your photograph yet, you’ll just have to keep looking. Hopefully you can have another go at painting it. Best wishes, James
Hi Jem, I’m glad you enjoyed the demonstration. Keeping it simple is a great way to go. It makes the whole process more fun. Thanks for watching Best wishes, James
I think that looks great, especially the litte boat. Interesting how a few steps down the path made such a change in the scene Thank you both for sharing your trips and your art. Sandy
Hi Mary, glad you enjoyed the painting. One of the benefits of painting is that you can change things and try and create a better opposition. It adds a bit of fun to the whole process as well. Best wishes, James
Afternoon James - This is a nice picture your masterful handling of colour and the brush strokes are highly descriptive of the area. I keep trying! thank you for sharing.
Hi Robert, Glad you like the painting. Trying to make every brushstroke count is important, which pushes the painting forward. Hope your painting is going well. Keep hanging in there. Best wishes, James
very nice painting, it has an atmosphere and mood. I'd personaly choose a bit different composition with something like at 1:06 but more to the left which would place the boat on the shore with that wooden structures more into foreground, the ropes leading into water and towards the second boat as the middle and the background as it is :) but still, a very nice painting and a lovely place.
Hi Michal, Glad you enjoyed the painting. There are probably a few compositions here and the one with the boat included on the left would’ve been a good one. it really was a lovely place and in the rain only just kept off. I hope your painting is going well Best wishes, James

The last touches at the end gives it that bit of extra life. Coming back to painting and looking at with fresh eyes 👍
I always like that last look at the painting just to make sure it’s alright.. You’re right, fresh eyes are always a good thing.
