Love this bag. I accidentally bought jute chord instead of twine so it ended up smaller but I made an extra rectangle for the front of the pouch and made some modifications, and it turned out really cute. Makes a great pen or make up pouch. Wish I knew how to add a pic to show. Love your channel and tutorials Ash!!

Hi Ashley love this jute bag you made. I've been searching for a bag like this but a bigger beach bag style, I found one but the designer wants 5.00 for the pattern. How would I make this much much bigger? Thanks!

Hi! Do you want to make it the exact same style where the top folds over? Since this bag starts with chaining 25, I would probably start by chaining 75 or so. Regardless of how many chains you start with, your straight edges will all be 3 less than what your chain was. For example, if you start with a chain of 75, then skip the first two chains and do a double crochet into the 3rd chain, count that as your first DC and continue until you done 72 DCs. That will leave you with one chain left at the end. Do 3 DCs in that last chain to start going around the curve. Then you will have 72 chains to DC while coming back down the other side. The next round will start by again chaining 2 and then doing 72 DC, do 2 DC in the next three stitches and then 72 DC back down the other side. And you can continue in that pattern. Then, since my bag only goes out to 7 rows around, you would just need to continue to add rows until it was as wide as you wanted to make it. My pattern ends at the 7th row, which is ch-2, DC 22, 2DC, DC 5, 2DC, DC 5, 2DC, DC 5, DC 22. (If you were starting with 75 chains it would be ch-2, DC 72, 2DC, DC 5, 2DC, DC 5, 2DC, DC 5, DC 72.) For every row past that you will need to add one more Double Crochet between your increase stitches. So around the curve of the 8th row will be: 2DC, DC 6, 2DC, DC 6, 2DC, DC, 6. The 9th row curve will be: 2DC, DC 7, 2DC, DC 7, 2DC, DC 7. Continue in that pattern until the bag is as wide as you want, and if the bag still isn't quite as long as you want, at that point you can start going across the bottom flat edge of the bag like I do in this pattern. I only added one row of DC and 1 row of SC, but you could continue to add a few more rows of DC if you need a little more length. Does that make sense and help go in the right direction for you?

@@AlloPlum Wow Thanks I will try to figure that one out I find watching you is so much easier, would you consider making a tutorial on a big beach bag with that design? I have a picture of what I mean if I can send it to you and maybe you can recreate it on a tutorial. I can't figure it out but looks easy and it's so cute I'm sure you can recreate it a bit different and make it your style. I know a lot of women have tons in their Marry Poppins bag me included and the little purses won't even hold my wallet hahaha. It would be great if you could do a big beach hag tutorial with the jute and what was the cost of 1 spiral of jute? Thanks Ashley I would love a big beach bag and in that style so friekin cute!!!
