    @Chess Talk, here is the answer for today's chess puzzle:
    Note: There are 4 possible variations for the chess puzzle, I will cover them all
    The standard best move for white is Qh6+. From here the variation starts:
    1. Variation 1 - Kh8:
    If Kh8 is played, then Qf8#. This is a checkmate
    2. Variation 2 - Kg8:
    If Kg8 is played, then Qf8# again. This is also checkmate
    3. Variation 3 - Kf7:
    If Kf7 is played, then Qf8# once again. This is checkmate
    4. Variation 4 - Kxh6:
    This is by far the best move black can play to delay his loss.
    If Kxh6 is played, the the white dark- squared bishop on a3 will move to Bf8+. Over here, there are another 2 variations black can play
    Sub-variation 1: Kh5
    If Kh5 is played, then the white light-squared bishop will move to Be2+. This is check. The only move for black at this point is g5. But, h4 will be a checkmate
    Sub-variation 2 - Kg5:
    If this move is played, then white's best move is to move h4+. From here there are another 2 different moves the black king can play
    Sub-sub Variation 1 - Kh5:
    If Kh5 is played, then the white light-squared bishop moving to Be2# will be game
    Sub-sub Variation 2 - Kg4:
    If Kg4 is played, then the white light-squared bishop moving to Be2# once again will be checkmate.
    Thats today's chess puzzle.
    Happy International Chess Day

    • @PhilL30tard0
      @PhilL30tard0 4 года назад +35

      Temporary sacrifice you get another piece for it black loses castling rights, and his kingside is busted, his king is still in the center...pretty nice compensation I think.

    • @PhilL30tard0
      @PhilL30tard0 4 года назад +3

      @Rupsnigdha Kashyap I always try gambits first against weaker players, and if I have some concerns then I put moves in the engine and go through different lines.
      I just played this opening with two engines stockfish 8 vs stockfish 8 and black won also the guy mentioned in the vid that its not used in elite levels, so not a surprise but its always fun to try out different stuff.
      Ps: you can find a lot of learning material on the internet and puzzles... you can improve yourself.
      Analyze your games, what did you do wrong, search better moves and don't try to play openings you don't know or have too much variations.

    "Since your down 2 pawns, you should try to avoid trading pieces"
    Proceeds to sacrifice the bishop every single time, just for a knight or a bishop

    • @johnp515
      @johnp515 Год назад +2

      You get one pawn back plus the bishop/ knight added to the advantage of taking away castling rights of the opponents king. It’s definitely worth the one pawn down you will be. Remaining two pawns down and simply trading without compensation is not recommended.

    Happy international day to all..
    The solution :
    Qh6+
    If white plays K×h6 then,
    Bf8+ then if kg5 then
    1 .h4 , kg4 or Kh5 and Be2 mate ..
    Bf8+ then if Kh5 then
    2 .Be2+ , Kg5 and h4 mate ..
    Now after Qh6+ if black plays like Kf7 or Kg8 then Qf8 is mate..
    Correct me if I'm wrong ..

    Chess Puzzle solution:
    First you do the brilliant queen sacrifice Qh6+, then the KxQh6, then the Bf8+, king has to move on either h5 or g5 square. So if he plays Kh5, then we have another move Be2+, so the black king is left with only safe square g5 and then h4 is a checkmate. Going back on the second variation, if the king moves to g5 instead of h5, then again the h4 check, then Kh5 and again Be2+# is a beautiful checkmate!!!

    there is a move d5 in this position 6:06 and also after white saves his knight or captures the bishop,black can artificially castle and use the semi open f file to create a attack of his own. White king is also in the centre of the board

    Queen to h6 is the right move. Now king have to take the queen otherwise queen to f8 will be checkmate. If king takes the queen then next move will be dark bishop to 8f giving a check. Now king got only two square to move g5 and h5. If it moves to g5 then pawn to h4 with a check leaving only g4 or h5 to move and then white bishop to e2 ends the story with a beautiful checkmate. Similarly if it moves to h5 after check by dark bishop then at first white bishop to e2 and then pawn to h4 gives checkmate.
