I know exactly what you mean about vidIQ. I looked at a few of their videos at the start of my channel and my opinion of how they work is they are only there to try to boost you just enough to get you to empty your pockets to them. Not the way I can live my live, I have to do my channel my way for personal and medical reasons and I can`t let anyone make me feel bad about how I'm doing it. At the end of the day my channel will have a very slow rise and most likely won`t get to 1,000 subs before my time expires. With the week I've had I feel that time could be before I even reach 100. So chin up old son, don`t let the numbers get you down. And just remember... We Are Here For A GOOD TIME, Not a long time. Just smile 🙂
Always been my thing to NOT really pay attention to what other people think and to what other people/channels do. Maybe that is why I will never be a big channel, I always say, do what makes you happy. I hope you can continue to do what you love and stay in that frame of mind. That this is a creative outlet for you and if others enjoy what you put out there, then that is a bonus. Not saying to not care what your viewers think really, just do what is best for you mentally. Alot of channels have fallen victim to the algorithm and channel statics and quite abit of them are no longer active anymore or are only shadows of what they once were. We as people as well have even fallen victim to this social media machine and alot of us have lost ourselves trying to please it over the years, but it will never be satisfied. To many have played the algorithm game and that is why it is the way it is today. The only way to break free of this is to do the content that makes you happy, not the content that makes the machine happy. If enough of us did this we could change how the machine works. Put it back to what it once was when it all first started maybe. A daunting task, no doubt. Please be and stay true to yourself on this road of content creation and others will follow. It will take time sure, but there is no easy, quick, surefire way to be popular on social media without giving up pieces of yourself. The only way to make it without losing yourself is the long hard path. The road that has ups and downs, the channel that takes years to forge into something you are proud of. The one that has no shortcuts, but is instead filled with amazing memories of all the friends you have made, experiences that you shared with others, and the lives you have made better and brighter through your content. Yes, this sounds childish and corny, but it is the only way I see of going. I wish you and yours all the best. Keep being you, Stu!
thank you Sir, it's a tough mind set to fall into, thinking you're not good enough, it's just one of those things I guess, we all go through difficult thoughts but come out of it in the end.
KEEP IT UP Stu but just realize WHY you are doing it - you got this video timed and titled perfectly. My channel exists to amuse myself, show off my antics, and yuck it up with my friends. So I don't get discouraged. You may want more. You deserve more. You can get more but you have to ride the pain train on youtube. I laugh my ass off in your streams, bud. Your community is super excellent. You have a LOT already, stick it out if you can! Gaming is the toughest type of channel to grow due to the endless competition. I think you stand out.
yeah, I can't speak for other YT communities cuz I've only been in 'gaming' ones but yea, you are 1000% correct about the competitiveness, so easy to fall into that state of mind of comparing yourself to other gaming channels, trying to compete, some do 12 hour streams, some do 8, some stream every day, I can't do that.

yeah Shaleen, I will go the same route to save my mental state of mind, I will stop looking at it!! LOL, wow, to say it has affected my mind these last few months is an understatement, for me when I started out here on YT a LOT of people subscribed to one another to support each other however, they do not watch the content, hence my views but if I fall into that trap of worrying about figures I will be mentally drained as I have been doing so. Thank you for commenting love, much love to you and yours. ❤️
I watch a video or 2 of mine go up to 500+ views, then 2 weeks later 3 in a row fail to reach 65 views. There are so many things going on in RUclipss algorithm that it seems like they just forget about you for months. Or the weather is nice, or maybe the thumbnail or title really sucked. I've been noticing the new stuff you are doing Stu & it is good! Under 10k subs & I feel a channel is subject to the whims of viewers. Has been happening to me right from the start of my channel 2 years ago.
thank you Sir, I am trying to tap into doing some 'vlogging' because that's what I enjoy watching, I still want to do gaming streams, mentioned before how this may disrupt my channel identity but as I am doing this as a hobby (or trying to remember that fact lol), I am not going to worry about channel identity. If I did not work long shifts I would put more time into it and maybe try doing it for views etc
Hey Stu ✨️ You know the old proverb. "Comparison is the theif of joy." Bless you, Amigo, always remember, you are beautiful and unique ❤ stay blessed love 🙏
I'm tired of the "your title S's, your thumbs S's, you don't provide enough value, you shouldn't compare yourself, but comparing you with Mr.Beast you S." This is bs, man... completely agree with you.
I have been thinking on this after your post and figure ill just say it.. things are different in a community like ours, content creators supporting each other i mean.. we sub to each other for support, but so many of us just stop by and drop a like.. those short view times from that are bad for all of us. It kills the view time.. likes may be good, but view times are not. Its not easy to say that but its true. The people that actually watch are the true supporters of our channels, the rest are just numbers, and if they arent watching it actually hurts our channels. Now thats honesty.. true viewers or community members, that take their time and actually watch for 15 minutes or longer are the ones that feed the youtube beast. thats unfortunately why so many are becoming stagnant nowadays, i think at least. Alot of other content creators supporting, but then busy and dont really have the time to watch cquse they are doing their own work. Support isnt bad, but watvh time is the thing that suffers. Sorry about recommending vidiq, you had been talking about growing your channel, and i thought it would help by giving you some helpful insights. 😢 but i do always tell you NOT to listen to me 😅❤❤
lol 😂 thanks bab, the thing for me when I first started YT, like you said, I was apart of a community where people were subbing to each other as a way of showing your support but again, like you mention, just subbing to a channel is not enough, you have to watch the content and sadly that's what I did wrong when I started YT, everyone subbing to each other but that's it. Mikey was there all along saying it, telling people to only sub to him if you're interested in the content, if not then there's no point if you're not gonna watch. Huge majority of my subs are probably dead accounts or whatever they are called at this point, if I knew what I know now I would definitely do things different, unfortunately at the start I jumped on that band wagon of just gaining the subs and returning the favour, I think if I hadn't spent sooo much time on YT, invested these last 3 years into all my spare time creating content/streaming, I think I would start over and some will say 'well just do it', but the feeling of losing almost 3 years of content would hurt a lot. Going forward I will try and put less pressure on myself and remember that this is a hobby, maybe cut back on the amount of streams I do and just relax more.
@@stustreams yes, i hear you and its why i actually dont like sharing my channel all over.. nothing personal to anyone, i just hope for people that join to watch, not to up my numbers if that makes sense.. i also get caught up in the what am i doing wrong.. then remember the reasons for doing this.. 😊 i dont get in the weeds on my channel, but it does bother when people dont watch.. but then i remember that im not perfect, im not a pro, just an old broad playing games and wanting to hang out with like minded people .. and if i never get anywhere, i guess ill enjoy the learning and the process.. and the games 🎉
