It's about not falling victim to the world and other material things. We as Christians are promised eternal life in heaven, yet we are just as human as anyone else. That being said, we give in to all the worldly things that truly don't matter. RED is singing about turning away from that and realizing there are better things to be found when we follow God. This is personally one of my favorites on this album :)

Did anyone see and look up the "Accedia" thing in this video? Acedia is a state of carelessness about the world's condition. Well played, Red.
Also, at the end of the "Release the Panic" video, they had Accedia show up saying that the communication had been restored.

I agree :D The faults in the individuals who set other values above God. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich person can go through the gates of Heaven. Something like that lol Sorry for my going on lol RED sings what I feel. Pieces, So Far Away, Breathe, etc etc etc. And as I write this my heart has softened to allow God to come in again. Please pray that I remember to act as Jesus would and show love. I tend to have that pesky "I got my feelings hurt" junk and then react.

this song speaks to me because I just ended a 6 year long friendship. Retired 36 year old millionaire with family. He lied alot, always put me down for what I don't have and what he had. Perfect song for me.
I began listening to this band simply as a fan of alt metal. Although I tend to hold secular misgivings about religion and Christian-themed content, I have come to highly respect them for their ability to communicate uplifting themes in ways that everyone can find meaning in.

RED never ceases to amaze me. Being a fan since End of Silence and seeing them progress this much and seeing how awesome their fan base is brings a smile to my face. Thank you RED and my fellow fans!

Red is my favorite hard alternative rock band of all time.
"Perfect Life", "Darkest Part", "Feed The Machine" and "Release The Panic"; Watch these four music videos by Red in this exact sequence and you will see that they're all interconnected with one another, creating a story. There may be more. I don't know. The music is superb; the first three videos are great. I personally do not like the last video for "Release The Panic", but all in all, a great song.

It's about how the lives that look absolutely flawless in the standards of today's world are nothing but a shell without any substance. The line "I'm perfectly broken" describes how the christian faith acknowledges the deeply flawed people we are and that we are then made perfect through Christ.

They have polished their sound, but these guys are far more real than most people I meet. Their passion is as intense as it has ever been, and I think it is fantastic that they have the courage and resources to experiment. I expect them to be my favorite band for many more years. Not just because they write good music and put on a good show, but primarily because they are genuine.
I love your guys songs they always have great messages to the songs I love them. I hope you guys don't ever quit making great music like this until you guys decide to stop playing. You guys are honestly one of the best Christian rock bands. God Bless guys!

This is why I love RED. They can make both heavy songs and upbeat songs, and still keep it sounding great and with an awesome message.

I love that this song really touches on insecurities, the consumer mentality, the feeling of no control over your life, but other people do, that the “perfect life” is nothing like it seems, it’s nothing but empty lies, deceit, and false dreams, it’s great to dream, but a perfect life on earth doesn’t exist, only in Heaven with our Father, is the “perfect life” that we *all* dream of, I wish more people could see that.........

Honestly true about society. Today we see many people saying these things, talking about "if you do this, you'll live a perfect life" but honestly, living for God is the best life. Period. nothing is better.

This song reminds me of this game called " The Path ". In this game, you have two options : following the path to make sure that you arrive at your grandma's house ( the end of the path, representation of death ) without any troubles or leaving the path and going into the forest. Everything is very symbolical, and the game is far from being just that, but to resume it, following the path until its end is a representation of a life where nothing bad happens to you, while going into the forest means making experiences. In my opinion, it is very similar to this song.

When I hear this song first thing I think about is Facebook, and how some people post things to get as much likes.... But that's just me.

I have never found a band that i have enjoyed and loved every single one of their songs. I've been following Red from the beginning and they have never let me down!

Looking at the comments on this video is almost laughable. All you people agreeing with the message in this song, all saying that you shouldn't let the media tell you what you should be or do. How many of you are commenting from your iphone, that you saw on an advert? How many of you will now go and buy makeup, or clothes, or sit down and worry about how you're going to impress the girl the media tells you is perfect for you?
So many decrying the media, yet so few actually following through with it.
That's how it goes pal. They do it to look different and unique but are just the same. NO one can be perfect. Figuring out who you are and refusing to change for someone or something else is what I think the song really points out so we need to do that. The feeling it brings when you get a taste of truth, is intoxicating.

Though media and capitalism walk hand in hand, they're not the same. I can, indeed, believe and Ad that says Iphone is pretty good, because it is pretty good indeed. I can, as well, buy a prada bag because it does indeed have high quality, or buy adidas's shoes because they are, in comparison with other brands, very good shoes. So, capitalism and media differ from each other.
Now, I must aggree with you that most of us are hipocrites. That is undeniable, yet, capitalism isn't bad because some of us are hipocrites, neither is marketing. The strategies media is using today, and media's objectives are evil to the core, but the existance of media itself isn't a bad thing, I guess.
