- Episode 48 - Chores can be fun
After conquering the towering Foxton Locks staircases we settle back into the weekly routine. With a fairly open calendar, and without having to rush to Crick, we enjoy an easy going week, topping up the water, refilling our supplies, and emptying the elsan. While the chores are mundane and repetitive from week to week, we show how even the boring bits can be fun! 😁

Yes we loved being the watchers for a change! It's great fun 😅 We still haven't gotten the under bed holes done - but they are on the list we promise! Love mint sauce I put it on my peas. The more condiments the better with a roast! I have apple sauce, stuffing, vegan horseradish, English mustard and bread sauce. Coleman’s packet of bread sauce is vegan if made with plant milk xx
Ah another one for Team Amy and her mint sauce 😂 She has it with mushy peas on bonfire night - apparently that's a northern thing? Wes likes a bit of apple sauce now and then. Oo we haven't tried the bread sauce! We'll have to keep an eye out! Thank you! 💗

Hi Amy, Wes, Rufus and Dupes, Really enjoyed your Vlog this week, as I do every week. Looks really nice around Foxton. I loved the way your were watching the Boat Hire people trying take off from the bank. It's ages since I have had a carvery. I love a yorkshire pudding with a carvery.Rufus really enjoyed himself running around on his huge lead, and how cute were Rufus ear coverings to ease the sound of the Thunder for him. You look after your pets so well. Great idea to get your Tesco shopping delivered. Loved that your bow thruster was called Amy, and certainly looked like Amy. Amy did an excellent job keeping you on the straight and narrow (so-to-speak). You had a great walking race, and were so competitive. Hope you enjoyed your movie. It's a great film. That's funny about your crisp wraps, as the US would call them Chips!!!!! Your both great sports. Your Crisp (Chip) wraps looked delish. Well done in the Tunnel. We were laughing way to hard when you were taking your shih tzu for a walk and it was running away down the hill 😂. Such a great vlog, and how did we not even know about the laundry facilities at the bottom of the locks!! 😊👍

I use a 20 litre wheeled suitcase from Poundland, it cost 25 quid so I think they need to change the name of that shop... Good thing is nobody knows what is in the case, so you can even carry fuel on public transport which apparently is illegal. I'm a pirate lol, so savvy that xx

I know you said it one day. How old is Rufus? How much school would someone need to get a online job in gaming,? I'm in what seems like purgatory in the US and canal life is my way out.
He’s 5 years old! 🥳 To be honest a degree or college course is one way in, but these days there’s so much online to learn how to do it all that it’s probably sufficient to get an entry level job 😊 the portfolio is the main thing! Best of luck ❤️

Living on a boat/ship how often do you go food shopping/non food shopping for things you need/want like books/toys
Whenever we come across a new town which is maybe every few weeks we usually have a little look at local shops 😊 but we don't often buy much!
Definitely always have mint sauce when having carvery, not just for lamb. Loved seeing Rufus with his ear muffs on.
I had images of your cassettes bursting as you ran down that hill…..now that wouldn’t have been good. 🤢

Hey Amanda, sorry you felt that it came across that way :( We said in the video 'we love them' because we do it and its all lighthearted and find it funny because we find it relatable from when we hired our boat too.
A lot of the hires we chat to, including this one, and they will make jokes about their own ability and them crashing etc, its just a bit of fun :) We don't feel like we were poking fun at them in a malicious way, but sorry if it did upset you!

You're not wrong about the wind in North Kilworth Marina - we bought Luna Betty there and had heck of a job getting on to the fuel station on the first day. We then putted for 90 minutes south, and moored up about where you moored up too. Middle of nowhere, and quiet.

So cute, Amy when you said Wes looked drunk carrying the bag by that big tree, hehehe he did look drunk. When you finally made it back to the boat, poor Wes couldn't even stand up straight his back was probably soar, then he almost feel backwards looking drunk again. I hope you can get the wagon soon , to save Wes's back, and yours. Love Rufus that is the first I saw ear muffs to help with the lighting noise, very clever.
