the explanation to this trick is something called magic or maybe he is a mind reader or a gypsy that summons demons to give him magical powers and the ability to read minds and do magic
Ok to be honest if this really happened to me I would be asking immediate questions like HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? Their reactions don't seem very realistic
Not that I necessarily think this is real mind-reading or believe that they're not actors, but if an experience as shocking as someone reading your mind happens to you, people are often confused, in disbelief, or speechless (like the girl at the end said).
You Do You true, but the problem is that most of them aren't actually reacting like that, they're just laughing and easily accepting that they're mind had just been read.
Ariana Sky Well, if the guy actually said what they were thinking, how can they deny that he was right? They'd be lying to him and themselves if they didn't accept it right away, but then they'd probably think about it more as time passed. Laughing is pretty normal - there's probably a camera crew in there, or at least there's a bunch of cameras, and a guy talking non-stop in front of them. By the way, it's pretty hard to talk when that guy doesn't stop talking, so maybe they couldn't say everything they wanted. :) Anyway, I didn't find their reactions extra super fake, even though they weren't 100% believable either.
Ok since everybody here is wondering how this works, I will give you my theory: Prior to the interview, the people in charge of recruiting the sample of the "experiment" got them into a psycological/behavioral effect called "Priming" or Implicit Memory, "in which exposure to a stimulus influences response to a later stimulus. It is a technique in psychology used to train a person's memory both in positive and negative ways." So, for example; they problably showed the black guy when recruiting him several pictures of dogs, and unconsciously set the name "moses" on his brain starting with letters, syllables, whatever, untill his brain formed the name "Moses" and linked it with a pet, or dog. Same with the date and linking it to a space travel and so on. So for example I use a shirt that has a number 8 on the back, the next day tell you that I have 8 cigarettes left, the next day give you a break, then start over at telling you about the number 8, in a couple of weeks I will ask you for a random number and you will say "8" without thinking about it, because you liked it to me. Sorry if its not clear enough, Im kind of tired Source: Neuroscience student keep in mind this is only my theory of how they did this
@@historicstuff580 lmao no a magician actually done this to me and I have no idea how he did it and he also bend a coin without even touching it like the coin was mine he told me to keep it inside my hands then told me to concentrate idk how he bend that
The interesting bit is he said "your dog running towards you" where at the start he asked him to think of his PET's name. How did he know it was a dog?
Okay this is probably really stupid but let me say this: the moment that dude talked about their "dreams" he was putting emphasis on syllables or letters like the letter 's'. That's why she probably choose the date September. Because our thoughts can never be random, it's always based on something. Again, this is probably not correct but this is just what j think happens in their brain. :) Still really crazy And funny haha
+our cool generation I don't think that would be a reliable method. I think that when you ask people to think of a date, they might think about a date that they already know - birthday, etc.
its something called magic or maybe he is a mind reader or a gypsy that does black magic and summons demons to give them magical powers and the ability to read minds and do magic
Almost all mentalist trick have to deal with the person who is thinking of a word somehow outputting the word whether outloud, in writing, or a drawing. The trick is how the mentalist is able to copy that output quickly and claim he inputted it before they outputted it. I think with all the edits this could have been done, they probably run a Instagram or Facebook search of these people as well.
I am not going to believe this unless someone can show how this could work. But I guess nobody can... I am a little disappointed that a (usually pretty scientific) channel like National Geographic posts a video like this...
I believe he hypnotized them, which was cut out, and then had them think of something and tell him what they were thinking of then told them not to remember telling him. Its a lot like those david blane episodes where they do a trick in real life, take shots of the audience reaction to the real trick then they stage a fake version for the camera.
Watch closely. before he asks the lady what she is she thinking of, he flips the page of his book. he wrote the word two times. one on the first page and one on the second. She read it in an eye blink but it was to quick to really notice what was going on. then he showed her the second page and she is so amazed! pauze on 3:23 / 4:35 and you`ll know how this works. of course he also gives hinds with his use of language to trick her.
Actually it is scientifically possible to read other people's dreams, to some extent. This is in fact how the dream researchers Keith Hearne and Stephen LaBerge proved the existence of lucid dreams; they had lucid dreamers wear electrodes on their head and then those people were asked to make specific eye movements in their dreams, and these eye movements were recorded on an EEG scanner, which proved that they could make voluntary actions in their dreams. You can also register things like muscle twitches and other physical reactions that correspond to what you are doing in the dream at that moment. This is real, actual science by the way, not some random hocus-pocus. The fact that lucid dreams are often considered "spiritual" doesn't make them any less scientific.
This might be done by preconditioning. He might somehow earlier set some conditions for each of those persons to see and hook up them with hand on shoulder. So later puting hand on shoulder realease or point to that anchored memory database. Or ... it might be just staged show with actors.
Practically impossible. I mean how could a person read your mind exactly what you are dreaming of ? Even you don't know what it's gonna be coming to you in your daydream or dream.

MsHojat agreed there can be a pre-show things and hired actors for the show, magic is something that people oftenly named what they couldn't understand or explain in past. Like if you can travel back in time with cell-phone you can be a magician/devil/witch and etc. Scientific approach makes me think leading human brain and manipulating thoughts could be done here you can see these kind of things in life. Like talking about red and create a theme with party can make people think vine.I know this example not enough to make people think something like that but you can add words, scenes or dialogues to lead peoples mind to that word Once i have seen an experiment video of two men has a prearranged meeting with an advertiser. These men doesn't know the way from their home to agency has set up with some hidden subliminal stimultants. When they arrive at agency the advertisers want them to create a logo for zoo. These two man didn't know each other and didn't see each other at agency but they create similar logos.
