"Selling payments" to consumers originally took off when car leasing came into practice. As you often remind us, get the out the door price! BEFORE accepting any loan or payment scheme. Several RV owners, through General RV if I remember correctly, had their financing arrangements turned into Balloon Payment loans illegally and were caught off guard when the original loan term (5 years, 10 years) ended and the balance of the loan was due (the "balloon payment"). I've not heard about this financial mechanism lately related to RV loans, but, would not surprise me if there aren't some being written, without full consumer understanding.

I know a repo guy and I have seen him repo more campers this year than I have ever seen before. Many later model campers being turned in for no payment! It’s a scary world we’re living in right now!

I wish Kevin's dealership sold Brinkleys. We have done research for several years and are getting close to buying...we want a quality unit and have narrowed it down to Outdoors RV and Brinkley...now, these 2 are totally opposite in aesthetics but in our opinion are the some of the best built units today. His dealership does sell Palomino Pause which we love but they are little small.

I watch your videos on RUclips. Thank you very much for these videos informing people on the way things really work. Unfortunately there are many people who "shop payments. Recently while discussing RV's a friend told me "you can finance those things forever". With that attitude I guess that they will never be free of debt. I do not do payments, if I cannot pay for it I do not buy it. I have an old 1999 class A with no slides. It looks decent, is a comfortable as any, and I am not trying to "make a statement". It is reliable, I can fix most things, and keep it well maintained. Granted money wise it is not worth much, but I repeat, I am not trying to make a statement.

I recently purchased a new RV and the dealer I got it from was not a problem to work with, but I had no idea how the interest was figured. I thought it was the same type of loan like when you purchased a new car but after my third payment I was just killing time one day and was looking over, the interest rate through the online app of the bank and when I seen what I was paying per month in interest, I called and paid the thing off. I did not realize they had set up the loan like a house mortgage loan . I had borrowed $47,000 and I was paying 9.5 (which is pretty much the going rate right now ) and the interest was 400 dollars a month, fortunately I had enough money in the bank to just pay the thing off, but many people are not in my situation.

Buying a new RV is like buying a timeshare. You think you're going to use it all the time but life gets in the way. Then you try to unload it only to find you've lost massive value.

The only thing to do in the minds of most businessmen today to solve this problem is to raise the prices even higher and lower quality even lower, and we can see this strategy being used across almost every product and service today.

Sad time for consumers, RV dealers and manufacturers. I imagine a year or so from now the list of manufacturers still in business and not bankrupt and/or acquired by one of the big companies will be different.

Southeast Georgia, wonder if Brinkley and Alliance are slow? When I find the fifth wheel I want to buy, I’m going to shop a few small dealers and get a price, and then from a large dealer. When I decide who gets it after an independent inspection I don’t want any BS as I’m writing a check with no add ons or I will walk away! I believe that later this year prices may adjust downward. Hopefully I can deal with a small dealer who’s honest and trustworthy!

R.V. Is a misnomer in this instance,a towed vehicle is not an RV nor is a truck camper an RV.
    Class A,B,C,C plus are RV’s.

Stop putting him on. Once again this typical salesperson can’t be trusted. “2023’s aren’t bad”. What a load of crap 2025’s are hitting lots that’s means 2023’s are 2 years old. Looking at his inventory 40% of his stock is 2023. He wouldn’t be saying that if he wasn’t in such bad shape. Just because you recorded his bs earlier doesn’t mean you need to keep playing it. Let’s get back to the straight talk and ship this shyster.
