I dont know why everyone is complaining about Luffy getting some extra minutes to pummel Kaido when if anything, it made Kaido look a LOT more tougher and showed that Luffy, at his current level really wasnt shit compared to the Yonko. At least not yet. I liked it

It actually made Luffy look good too. Not everyone can pummel a drunk kaido that much. You actually have to be a monster just to achieve that. Queen used what I believe is his strongest attack against a weaker version of bigmom but he could only cause her to step back and not even fall. And that was a headliner QUEEN. I believe drunk kaido>weakened bigmom because normal kaido is atleast a little stronger than normal bigmom. But Luffy was able to send drunk kaido flying a decent distance and not even with his strongest attack. So even if the first luffy Vs kaido encounter showed how strong kaido was, it also showed that luffy was way above yonko commander level and at that time, he could take down any yonko commander probably mid diff.

It's actually a shame anime only fans don't know the true degree of Kaido's attack, Ramei Hakkei. It's not only strong, it is blinding fast to the point where Luffy used future sight to see it coming, but couldn't dodge it anyways

still wish they had just followed the manga in this scene (referring to the whole fight) and Kaidos dragon introduction.
they just removed so much of the initial shock factor that those scenes originally had by dragging them out too much.
No when Kaido destroyed Luffy that was canon too? I agree the anime ruined the fight, because in the manga that first fight ended up feeling way more hopeless and very very one sided.
@@bakabaka73 yes i remember that very memorable scene from the manga where Luffy and Kaido simultaneously charged up their strongest attacks, the King Kong Gun and Thunder Bagua, and had Kaido acting on the defensive as Luffy jumped forward, their attacks clashing in the middle and Luffy being send flying through half of Wano before awkwardly falling in a way that had him land behind Kaido again.
Because that is exactly what happened in the manga and its most certainly not filler added by the anime to drag out the scene.

Kaido fights just as demonic when hes drunk the anime while not the worst does make kaido look a bit weaker but this is common. Like when the anime showed luffy straggling against batman the smile user its just a bit cringe when luffys character would never play around with theese scum fodder he just takes them out and moves along torwards his goal but when they stretch out encounters where one person is clearly way stronger but basically plays around even tho it doesnt fit the character its just a bit jarring because at certain points it makes no sense why characters wouldn’t one shot weaker opponents like they do in the manga. I dont believe its there to make the anime better ita strategy to stretch the plot which makes it feel in bad faith aswell

For example the batman situation was discussed about for very long and the ability to make fans debate like that is what makes the anime beautiful. Also, feats are feats so we can't deny batman the credit he is due. That feat he pulled easily puts him above all the other gifters we have seen in onigashima because his haki has proven to be strong.

Almost any short scuffle is extended often to its own detriment. Literally its just toei stretching the story in anyways possible, not to improve the anime but to keep it going as long as possible. Batman is just not good bruh even if he has haki even with a bunch of other shit do you still think luffy after katakuri couldn’t blitz the attacks and one shot both enimies like he did in the manga? Giving batman credit my ass, youd have to be low teir commander level to even touch luffy at that point. Shown by how literally no one phased him in the manga till kaido one shotted him, but in the anime he seemingly struggles in situations where in cannon it was a walk in the park for luffy. And itss just annoying and is CLEARLY not odas intention to portray it that way idk how u can call it good. There is good anime fillers just not when it undermines what is cannon and what the original author was trying to portray, ya feel?

Watching this after seeing ep 1017 and 1018 Luffy has come a long way to do some DAMAGE to Kaido. From Kaido standing on his two feet after a Kong Gun to Luffy literally launching him across Onigamshima with the same move (Kong Gun). Not to mention Luffy's Kong Organ gun he dropped Kaido to a knee, but after seeing his Kong gatling in 1017/1018 he KNOCKED Kaido down by himself in his dragon form! Like I just love how Oda sets these character development's up especially Luffy learing all three types of Haki, but is surprised when there are Advanced versions. I'm excited to see what else Luffy will do to Kaido!

And yes, actually Kaido taking Luffy out in one hit like that is impressive. Luffy did nothing to Kaido. Luffy only hit him because he was drunk and allowed him to do so.
