- This is my playtrough of Ridge Racer for the PS1, I played the game on the DuckStation emulator with 3x resolution and widescreen hack enhancements
This is the first time that I have fully completed Ridge Racer, the game is still very fun to play and a true playstation classic!

I'm planning to do more playtroughs in the future and including some different games not just Ridge Racer, what do you guys think? (Don't worry, content related to videogame music will not end because of that!)

Released in japan in december 1994, this classic is about to celebrate its 30 years anniversary. when I got my ps1 back in 1996 it came with this game, which I still have and played this weekend in a native ps1, which I purchased a few years ago. When I won the black car it unblocked old memories playing ridge racer in my fathers house, when I was a teenager. i remembered running in the house shouting loud of happiness that i have won the black car! This time I was seated in my sofa enjoying the achievement, quiet, but incredibly satisfied when the old memories came out, specially the effect of the games final phrase in me. Congratulations, you are the greatest driver. Mission accomplished twice. in the 90s and now. And saved it in the memory card, of course ; )
I played this for the first time when I was 7 years old, 2002. All I remember is how good the driving mechanics felt, the game was so smooth. I spent hours on this game with my mum 🥺 wipeout and Colin mc rae was her favourite games.
It's almost like the arcade version with all these enhancements
Going from 2D (SNES) to 3D (PS) was a dream come true when I was a kid. I used to play 3D racers (and fighters (Killer Instinct)) at the arcade and just couldn't WAIT to sit in my own home and play to my heart's content. It was a magical time, truly.
With this game, I truly felt like arcade 3d was at home. Saturn took too long to achieve that.
You can actually unlock the Black Devil Car earlier by just completing the Extra T_T race first. Then you can use it to crush the other Extra races. Heh, it was the only way I could complete the other Extra races back in the day.
High Level Extra in particular is borderline impossible. So congrats on beating it without the Devil car.
I remember playing this game before going to see Star Wars The rise of Skywalker in theaters
That's great... but kinda weird too. That was only a few years ago. I was expecting... I dunno... Jurassic Park in theaters or something.

is there a specific version of the game with this music or is it in every version?
It is in every version, the only thing that I think is different between the arcade and PS1 is that the name entry and credits song are only on the console

I cant tell if im sped or something but i do not remember that being the soundtrack
Why is that so smooth? My game is too pixelate on console.
