    Would be a flawless vlogging camera if it had IBIS. It seems like these camera companies always exclude one single feature that people want from a vlogging camera, whether it be mic jacks, IBIS, etc

      ya they ticked all the boxes for me... except IBIS. The X-S10 has IBIS, but not a fan of the fully articulating swing-out screen. Still looking for the perfect compact, stills and video and vlogging camera.

      @@bigheadtaco And this is where Fuji is driving me nuts. I bought the XS10 because of IBIS and the latest sensor/processor but hate the articulating screen. I was waiting for the XH2 because at one point in time Fuji said they couldn’t fit IBIS into their small cameras. Was thinking about the Xpro 3 then they came out with a screen which is not for me. But I really liked the rangefinder style so I waited for the Xe4. It pretty much looked like what I wanted but then Fuji left out IBIS. WTH? Well I guess for now I will stick with the XS10 and hope that the XE5 has what I want. I am okay with current screen of XE4 but would like IBIS and better EVS and will wait for next gen sensor/processor. The X100V caught my eye as an EDC but again no IBIS. Oh well I still have my little Panasonic GM5 with Oly 17mm. Still works for me. A bit bulky tho.

      The X-S10 IBIS was very similar to the X-T4. Unfortunately the same day I received the X-E4, Fujifilm asked me to ship back the X-S10. I really wanted to review them back to back. Now I'm waiting for another X-S10 to be shipped back, although it might arrive just as I'm shipping back the X-E4 :-)

    Is this camera a good upgrade for my x-t2? I know they have a different style. I use my x-t2 to take photos of nature and do some videos for my university assignments. I don't use f-log in my x-t2 I should do, but I like the chromatic chrome filter. Could I have a better video recording with the x-e4? Thank you :)

      Depending on the lens you'll be using, but the X-S10 is probably the most capable Fujifilm camera for vlogging because of IBIS, compact design, and fully articulating screen

    In terms of blogging. What about the 16-80 or 18-55 for vlogging? I think the 16-80 has better OIS so that should help.

    • @bigheadtaco
      @bigheadtaco 3 года назад +1

      depends on your vlogging style as well as your arm length. I prefer to cup the lens with my hands and pull the lens closer to my face. This is why I prefer 12-14mm in APS-C, or 18-21mm in full-frame for vlogging. But I know some vloggers use sticks and also have longer arms, and they're okay with 16-18mm.

    • @bigheadtaco
      @bigheadtaco 3 года назад +1

      They're both fine for video, but try not to zoom while recording video, as they focus will shift. Both these lenses are varifocal zooms, not parfocal, not ideal for video work. You'll notice the focus shift more in the XF16-80mm since the focal range is wider, thus magnifying this focus shift while zooming.

  • @joetreadonme
    @joetreadonme 3 года назад +1

    Why the 10-24? The kit 15-45mm has stabilization and since the 10-24 is an f4 then the kit lens being variable aperture doesn't matter. It can be set to f4 and make it a fixed aperture with the advantage of an extra stop of light when zoomed out all the way, as it will be when you're filming yourself for a vlog.
    The kit lens is great and $50. The 10-24 lens costs more than the damn camera!!!
    Why in the world would you be using a $1,000 lens to handhold a camera filming yourself talking? It's not even fast enough to be used handheld in many scenarios. I also never saw you change the focal length or zoom, but you are asking fuji for a faster vloging lens. If you want a faster lens why wouldn't you just get one of the many fast f2 f1.4 primes out there that are a fraction of size and cost of the gigantic zoom lens you have on that tiny camera?
    It completely defeats the purpose of getting an X-E camera if you're going to put a huge zoom lens on it.

    • @bigheadtaco
      @bigheadtaco 3 года назад

      most vloggers prefer wider focal lengths in the 12-14mm range (or 18-21mm equiv in full-frame), which includes myself. I don't exclusively vlog, but when I travel I do some vlogging as a way to tie together a story. The 15-45mm just isn't wide enough for me as I'm 5'5" and you basically get my head and that's it. If I had longer arms, perhaps I could pull it off, but even then, most vloggers prefer a lens that goes a bit wider.

    • @joetreadonme
      @joetreadonme 3 года назад +1

      @@bigheadtaco damn that's crazy. I am able to to get talking head shots holding my camera out with just my arm with the 25mm pancake ...oh I'm an idiot...I realized after writing this that I was using my sony A7ii that is fullframe which explains that.
      BUT if I have the 15mm kit lens and this little tabletop tripod I got on amazon for around $9 bucks that I use as a sort of DIY selfie stick that is more comfortable than holding my arm out, then I can get a solid shoulder and head composition. I got that lens on ebay for $50 and with image stabilization and f2.8 zoomed out it is worth trying out. Sucks it wasn't wide enough for you. Those small gorilla pods or tabletop tripods all over amazon work great as a handle that extends your camera out a few extra feet in front of you when vloging and that makes a big difference too.
