So sorry you missed lunch on Castaway Cay 😢 Our first time there in November was so amazing. We had a double dip (2 times @ Castaway Cay), so we were blessed! The large chocolate chip cookies are the BEST and we took a bunch back to the ship with us. 🍪🍪🍪🍪
I (Chris) got over it once we got back on the Fantasy 😂 lots of things we missed eating and doing on castaway, just more reason to go back!! 😄 We hope to do a double dip or a back to back the next time we sail out of FL!

I will be there next weekend with the Dream. I don't know if I like to snorkel so this time I am renting the equipment. If I like it I will buy some for my next cruise. That is if I like cruising. lol

Sounds amazing! When we eventually sail on the Wish, that’s how we want to do it too! Back to back in the same room. And without testing before and in between cruises!! It’s stressful enough to have to rest pre cruise, but to do it in between a back to back.

You had the best underwater footage I’ve seen recently at Castaway Cay! Total bummer about the food but if you had to choose being at the island vs eating the food I think u can go without the food lol hope you guys made peace with that. I’m hoping you guys made peace with that. I hope you guys go back to CC or maybe a perfect day at Coco Cay😉. Had my Inaugural Wish canceled but not all was lost. Having heard about the Wish now that it has sail I’m holding off until everything calms down. I’m so glad the family enjoyed everything and it looked so much fun. That was a great video! I want to do the stingray experience the next time where at Castaway Cay. We just finished a 4 Night Bahamian Cruise on The Dream. It was a sort of the spur of the moment cruise. 4 nights was not enough.

Castaway Cay day goes sooo fast! I remember thinking “we have 7 hours, that’s so much time!” But it flies. There was a lot I thought I’d do, but never got to do. Next time! We also ended up at Gran Destino tower post-cruise, but we stayed a few nights and hit the parks. Great vlog series, and I can’t wait for the haul video!
In 2017 we missed lunch on Castaway our first time there too. We did the 5k and then snorkeled. When we went to get lunch, it was closed. We are going on the Fantasy this December and we're determined to make sure and get lunch on the island.

We loved the Fantasy. Whenever we end up going on the Wish, I think we want to do a back to back cruise - there’s too much on board to only be on it for 3 or 4 nights!
Our day at Castaway Cay was canceled due to Tropical storm Nicole. We were on the Fantasy. Thanks for showing us what we missed. We thought Believe was excellent. Animator’s was fun.
I am sad your cruise is over even though I know it's actually been over for awhile! I will be eating at Homecomin' and staying at Coronado Springs Resort this month! You reminded me of how much fun we had at Castaway Cay and I look forward to returning there but I do wish that day wasn't the last day of our cruise. I enjoy seeing Alyssa's sense of adventure!

On my cruise on the Dream in September of 2021, due to the Bahamian government we couldn’t dock in Nassau, so Disney gave us complimentary 2 days at Castaway Cay which I’m not sure if you guys know, is a pretty pricey upgrade to a “double dip” cruise…we didn’t get off the second day… that is literally a huge regret that we didn’t take advantage of that…however we did at least take advantage of the ship being virtually empty…with the ship having less than 1000 people and most of them off on castaway it was AMAZING

Thank you so much for sharing your vacation with us! You have a wonderful family and it was so much fun watching your adventure aboard the Disney Fantasy. My family and I were on the August 6th sailing and we had a blast. My favorite activity was the 5k bike ride with my boys on Castaway Cay. We wanted to do the Stingray Adventure, but the only open spot was at noon, so we chose to go to Cookies Too instead (I'm not mad at that decision). My boys are 8 and 10, so they couldn't go to Vibe or Edge and make friends, but they did have fun playing Gaga at Oceaneer Lab while my wife and I enjoyed Palo brunch with my parents. Our next cruise is in Alaska next August on Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas, so it'll be interesting to compare it to a Disney Cruise. Hopefully that cruise won't have to be rescheduled multiple times like we had to do for the Disney Fantasy. We are looking forward to watching your next family vacation!

Castaway Cay is one of our favorite destinations. Sorry your day at Castaway was a bit discombobulated! The late arrival certainly didn't help. When we went we TOTALLY wanted to stay longer, even when arriving on time. Our goal is to take a Castaway Cay "Double Dip" cruise someday. "Last day of the cruise blues" are REAL! Looks like you all had a wonderful cruise.

Welcome! Thank you 😊 Those are DJI mics and work great with our iPhone. They work well but are a bit cumbersome to use all the time. We usually have a larger mic with our Sony zv-e10. Just depends on what and how we’re filming 👍😊
If you have a short day at Castaway, skip the BBQ so you have more time for experiences. The food is not near as good as a home-cooked bbq with fixin's. I would say its a step up from deli hot-case food. It's fine.

8”it was very easy, but for it to be easy, you have to do it a certain way. Each of the major car rental companies has a shuttle that goes to their Port Canaveral car rental location. We were able to get on the first shuttle that showed up, only because we did Express Walk Off. If you get off at your designated disin vacation time, you’re likely gonna have to wait a while with many other people for available shuttle. And then you’ll have to wait again at the car rental location. There was no in front of us when we got to the car rental location, so we would definitely suggest express walk off if you’re renting a car at the port after your cruise! We used National as our car rental.
If you have flippers on, you really don’t need to be a super strong swimmer. It’s maybe about 15-20 feet deep there. Without flippers you definitely need to be a pretty strong swimmer. They also give you a free float best as well so that makes it even easier. It does take a long time to swim out there and explore. Give yourself about two hours if you wanna explore all the buoys with the stuff underwater.
In nature, look at them from a distance because they can sting you. At Castaway, they clip their barbs so they cannot sting you. The rays at Castaway are very friendly and swim right up to you. The cast members on the island do a great job teaching you how to respect rays and interact with them. We are so glad we chose to do that excursion!
It’s been a minute since we put this out, but I think we weren’t with her or we forgot to capture that moment. Since this is a snapshot of what we did, we don’t capture everything 😊 We do talk about it and show it in our haul video!

Booked on the Wish February 3rd-6th, 2023 and February 6th-10th, 2023 3 night/4 night Back-2-Back and no pre cruise testing anymore 💯

Welcome! Thank you 😊 Those are DJI mics and work great with our iPhone. They work well but are a bit cumbersome to use all the time. We usually have a larger mic with our Sony zv-e10. Just depends on what and how we’re filming 👍😊
If you have a short day at Castaway, skip the BBQ so you have more time for experiences. The food is not near as good as a home-cooked bbq with fixin's. I would say its a step up from deli hot-case food. It's fine.

Could you possible tell me what the shuttle to the rental car places are like? is the line super long?
8”it was very easy, but for it to be easy, you have to do it a certain way. Each of the major car rental companies has a shuttle that goes to their Port Canaveral car rental location. We were able to get on the first shuttle that showed up, only because we did Express Walk Off. If you get off at your designated disin vacation time, you’re likely gonna have to wait a while with many other people for available shuttle. And then you’ll have to wait again at the car rental location. There was no in front of us when we got to the car rental location, so we would definitely suggest express walk off if you’re renting a car at the port after your cruise! We used National as our car rental.
Do you need to be a strong swimmer to make it out the the snorkel area where the statues are?
If you have flippers on, you really don’t need to be a super strong swimmer. It’s maybe about 15-20 feet deep there. Without flippers you definitely need to be a pretty strong swimmer. They also give you a free float best as well so that makes it even easier. It does take a long time to swim out there and explore. Give yourself about two hours if you wanna explore all the buoys with the stuff underwater.
What’s the difference between the stingrays in Castaway cay and in nature? Are the barbs removed??
In nature, look at them from a distance because they can sting you. At Castaway, they clip their barbs so they cannot sting you. The rays at Castaway are very friendly and swim right up to you. The cast members on the island do a great job teaching you how to respect rays and interact with them. We are so glad we chose to do that excursion!
