Some critique from a Doom main: - Rollouts are very helpful when getting from point A to point B. They give you so much speed, and with the right precision, you can reach the point before the enemy leaves spawn. - Typically avoid slamming straight up. Yes, it feels cool, and your close-up opponent may lose your position, but not everyone will (aka Widowmakers). Going straight up to straight down also provides a lot of lag and gives your opponents time to refresh cooldowns. Ideally, you want to slam into a wall, the push “rush” bot, or the top of a door frame. This will cause you to drop immediately, provide instant damage to your enemies, and keep you in the fight without the extra lag. - Something to work on can be your engagements. Knowing how to engage is especially important as a Doomfist because you have so many options. I noticed you like to full engage by using your slam + punch. This can work. However, using both abilities communicates to your enemies that you no longer have an ability to escape. (When I play against another Doom, I wait for their slam and punch, then cancel their guard with my punch and kill/punish them.) A good way to avoid this is to keep one ability (slam/punch) to escape. For example: Slam in then punch out; punch in then slam out. Now, this doesn’t mean you are unable to full engage. You can full engage if you feel you can, just make sure your team is nearby to back you up. It’s important to know when and how to engage. For example, if you’re guarding a corner or the point, you can punch first to keep the enemy back then guard. Or if you miss your punch and are now amidst the enemies, you slam back to your position and guard. This is just one example. Overall, I like your gameplay and I hope this helps if you keep playing Doom. Generally, if you’re doing really good as Doom, you eventually have to fight a Sombra, Pharah, Hog, and/or Orisa. In your first couple minutes of the video, I saw a Sombra and a Hog in the same game. So, great job and keep it up.
When I was making this video I knew I'd get some tips from other doomfist players, but i didn't expect them to be so thorough. This comment explains so much and I'm so thankful for the info, this cleared up so many questions and gameplay issues I was STILL facing even after this video. Extremely helpful and understandable.
