Ive only found your channel recently, and i like your approach and the effort you go to with each review. I like that you give an honest review. But, it saddens me that you dont get as many hits as say Uncanny Omar does?! I really like Omar's channel, dont get me wrong, but, his neutral overviews only serve to work as promotional material for the publisher, rather than give a critical assessmemt of each book ike you do. I hope there is more you can do to increase your profile, because, i think you deserve a higher profile. Keep up the good work.
Welcome to the community and thank you for the amazingly kind words! I try to keep things as honest as possible so those that do have similar reading tastes can know what to expect or what to purchase. I also love creating discussion about stories and characters not only for the fun of it but to keep this hobby flourishing and alive and putting opinions out there often causes the fun discussions. Thank you for appreciating that aspect of my videos! I understand and appreciate the neutral overview approach and those videos can help a-lot especially when it comes to keeping it spoiler free for readers. Especially when it’s a Omar video because he kills it in those and deserves the views he gets sense he really has put in the work to get to that point. As far as my channel not hitting it off as much as others I’m not sure, youtube and the algorithm is a strange thing and out of our control at times. I personally contribute it to content creation growing pains, no one typically starts making content and pops off immediately unless your a pretty lucky or skilled individual. I’m neither of those at this point but I’m growing and gaining more skill as I go so I’ll keep improving and gain my growth organically as I go hopefully. At the end of the day though I mainly do this because I enjoy it. I’ve never been the type to compare my channel to others or be in a competition with others, everyone’s story and journey is different. I keep doing this because I enjoy reading and talking comics and most of all being a part of a community that we (The Illuminerdy) built from the ground up. I don’t expect this to be a full time job at this point At least nor do I really make much money wise from doing it BUT I do really enjoy making content. I love talking to you all, even this conversation that isn’t about comics was fun and thought provoking and I personally love those interactions. @Illuminerdy_ I appreciate what you're doing and I appreciate what Omar is doing, and, its great that you don't compare your channel to others, but, I think your channel does deserve a higher profile, as I'm sure every few thousands of extra views and subscribes helps out financially, and, also puts you on the radar to get perks from the major comic publishers. Keep up the great work.
