I'm like that as well, I'm never content with just one media. I guess I've got a huge ego because I always think "oh I can do that!" when I discover something new. I've also been quite fortunate to be able to afford the supplies needed to try new things. So I'm constantly jumping around, dipping my toes into all kinds of media and combining lots of it as well. I'm loving my creative freedom.
We must be kindreds then! I think it’s a side effect of having a highly creative brain. We can’t just settle into one thing forever we need to constantly stimulate our creative juices by trying new things. It’s an exciting journey! Wishing you lots of creativity, health and blessings in the new year to come! 🎊🎆🥳
That’s a nicer way to put it than how I usually just say I have crafting ADHD….😂

Oh my goodness, I would love to be 60 again!
I can honestly say that I would not want to go back to any other age in my life. I am completely content with my forward movement lol 👵🏻 😊

@@pollyweinmann5082 Oh, Im sorry to hear that! My Husband will be 78 in July. Treasuring every day, week, month, year that we are given in this chapter of our life.
Tiny Brushes! This is my first time to watch your RUclips. Daughter sent it to me to help me relief my anxiety and stress. My daughter is a Elementary Art Teacher. Her first year. And I saw so many great items I want to get her for her birthday and other gift giving events.
I Roseanne, I am so glad that you enjoyed the video! Bravo to your daughter for being an elementary art teacher, that is such an important job! 🙏💕
I like your tiny brushes; and your craft room. Painting is so relaxing. I look forward to more of your videos🤗
Thank you so much! I love my studio, it’s my happy place. 🤗💕
A q-tip is really good for berries, wrap a bundle of them together with an elastic.
Thanks but these were tiny! I prefer more painterly, gestural, organic marks were each one is painted with a small brush. I don’t like uniform stamped marks in this kind of painting. I hope you enjoyed the video!
Happy Belated Birthday and you look fabulous! Thank you for the super video.
Thank you so much! 🤗🙏💕
Tiny Brushes! Happy 2023! :)🤩
Thank you! And thank you for watching all the way through the video 🤗🙏💕🎉🎊
Tiny brushes! Your make up and dressing up is beautiful! I usually feel better if I put effort into my appearance! 👍🙂. I enjoy watching Natasha Newton, Kriksis, Mel Chadwick, Sandi Hester and now you too! I might have a few others too!
Thank you, that’s very sweet! Honored to be listed in such great company 😉
I've just bought those paints too and I have those brushes - I need more actually because I have used them to death. The paints are beautiful.
I love those brushes!!!! 🤗
Tiny brushes! Linda, you look so beautiful with your updo and pretty blouse! And, as usual, this was such a fun haul to watch. ❤
Awe thank you! I was in better health back then too. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Happy new year and thanks for watching the full video! 🙏💕
I keep an empty Walter flavoring bottle full of water at my desk to refill my water brushes. That eliminates trips to the sink.. Also nice if I want to sit outside on the patio and paint.
It's so wonderful when we find a system that works for us! Helps keep the creative flow going.

Ahhh those water colors! Wish this 2023, be able to learn more techniques in watercolor painting…
Hi Jane, To be perfectly honest I’m struggling a little bit with the Japanese watercolors. They’re very different than regular watercolors and they’re not quite like gouache either. I guess it will take some experimentation to get used to them.
You look beautiful. Hope this year brings you good health, love, peace and joy.
Thanks so much for your kind words! I feel like this will be a better year for us and the things that we’re struggling with will come to resolution. I’m feeling much more faithful than I was in the beginning of this journey. Thanks so much!💕🙏✨

Lulabelle, you made it through the whole video! Yay!!! You are a true fan and I’m so grateful for that. Yes, 2022 has certainly been a STINKER of a year. I just know that 2023 will be better. Happy new year to you and yours 🎊🥳💕

Happy new year! Thanks for watching 💕
Tiny brushes😻 Must be in the air since I too have decided to buy some for the first time too. I have a few Princeton Velvetouch Mini Brushes that just arrived yesterday and I’m waiting for another order from Blick that includes two Princeton Select Mini Brushes. I have some Legion Stonehenge Aqua mini sample size pads that I want to do tiny paintings on. I like working big but have been challenging myself to work small. I have several of those pencil cases, mainly with cats on them, that I got from Amazon for all the different pencils and markers I have. They’re fantastic! Those paints are terrific and let me create watercolors with color that is a tad more muted than traditional watercolors while still being vibrant. I’m looking forward to your art nesting videos. I have MS and vascular disease in my legs so I spend a good deal of time in bed and not enough time in my studio. Hope 2023 is a good year for you! 🎉
Thanks for watching the full video! Sounds like we have a lot of the same art materials 🤗 If you look through my videos there are a few on both putting together and creating in my “art nest”. I hope you enjoy them 💕🙏
Happy New Year! When you spoke about acrylic markers, I wanted to share that I’m probably going to invest in a small set of
Molotow ONE FOR ALL markers. They are made in Germany and are def on the pricey side, but you can get empty ones (that I may get) or filled with their very high quality acrylic paint. The quality is so very good and all the major art suppliers carry them and they are artist quality. Like Copic alcohol markers, any part, or at least the nibs on their ONE FOR ALL markers can be replaced and the the paint barrels and nibs come in a lot of different sizes. Alternatively, Montana brand, made in the U.S., makes refillable acrylic markers, but are not quite as versatile as Molotow. Both of these brands have a focus on spray cans of paint and other supplies for graffiti artists. If you’re ever in a big art supply store, you’ll see the cans locked up in a cage or behind a screen
bc they are so popular, expensive and a big-time shoplifting temptation. 😊❤
If you browse around my channel a bit you will find a video where I talk about using the Molotow and Montana markers to fill with French dyes for my paintings on silk. If I remembered which video it was I would share it here for you.
Had to give you a subscribe when you mentioned about dealing with health issues and chronic exhaustion; I'm in a situation where I have ambitions that are larger than my capabilities (both in terms of skill and energy) so it's nice to find someone who's working with similar conditions :) I love those tiny detail brushes you have, I've got some from Pro Arte which I've not used much but I like and trust the brand so...
I've not gotten any Tombow Markers myself, but I'm the opposite where I must have the entirety of a set, no picking and choosing select colours for me 🤣 I do adore those pencil cases, I might have to find something similar for my endless collection
So sorry to hear you are a member of the “chronic fatigue” club. It’s not a fun experience as you know. The more I hear from my viewers the more I realize I need to make more videos showing how I create on the days when I have zero energy. I realize it’s such a struggle for people to get started and fatigue is such a Creativity killer on the other hand it’s so healing to immerse yourself in the creative process. Definitely one of my goals this year is to share more about that with my viewers. wishing you happiness health and lots of creativity in 2023! 🎊💕🥳
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind I look forward to seeing more from you, I've already begun to peek into your archives 😁 Sadly for me making videos about my art is so draining that I've given up on it but I'm trying to still share my work in other ways
@@positronixartandlife4545 I can totally understand that! I don’t think most viewers realize how much is involved in making a RUclips video. It’s completely exhausting for me at times and I did have to give it up for a while, I think I gave it up for a couple of years and then came back. Then I had to give it up for a few weeks again a short time ago. I’m really grateful for your sharing though because it has influenced what next week’s videos content will be.
Yeah, I like the slots. Looks like a couple dual-ended Clean Color Dot markers could fit in one loop. I'm trying to use my stuff up. If I get into colored pencils, that would be nice to hold a few of those, and the Clean Color Dots, and Tombows, and retractable Inkjoys, and drawing pencils, and maybe some paint brushes (depending on length). I like to be able to just grab a couple storage cases, not too many boxes and trays. Your artwork is beautiful. I would like to see what you've made with your Tombows. I'll look at your other videos to see if there are a few.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I do have videos where I show mixed media work done with Tombows.

Happy new year!! Thanks so much for watching till the end. May God richly bless you as well. 💕🙏
The Kuretake are pretty and bright. The reds, pinks, purples and yellows aren't lightfast at all (see Kim Crick's tests). But it sounds like you enjoy them, so it's wonderful that you can use them for sketch book play, stress alleviation. I bought a 24 set. I found that if you don't generously pre-wet them, they're draggy. I thought they were pretty too, had to try them, but was glad I didn't buy a huge number.
I regret buying the big set because after having used them for a bit I’m finding I don’t care for them. I think I’m going to pass them on to my husband lol
Looking good lovely lady, you're glowing 🙏☺️. I am a massive fan of Natasha Newton, she is such a humble and yet talented lady.
Although I do like loose painting, I think that there are limits too, particularly with the absence of light, shade and color choices. Hope that makes sense, lol ☺️. Loved your winter pond scene, just lovely with the red birds. Wishing you every blessing in 2023 xx
Thanks so much for your very sweet comment! Your kind words meant a lot to me. Over the last couple of months I had a few severe bouts of anxiety and I just binge watched Natasha Newton’s videos because they were so calming. She has such a sweet voice and her swatching videos are so meditative. Happy New Year to you! 🎊🥳💕

I got snowed in on Christmas with no heat (and got a cold) and 2022 sucked for me alot grieving-wise. but afterwards I got art supplies from Santa so it will be fun experimenting. hehehe I go to sleep early too on newyears. I LOOVE those storage boxes for supplies, they work perfect for most stuff & I need more lol. awesome vid!
Hi Nicole, what a bummer to get snowed in with no heat! I hope your heat is back and that all is well now. I pray for you in your grieving, grief is such a heavy weight to carry and it is such a long journey to heal from. Sending you wishes for healing, creativity and lots of joy in 2023!🎊💕

Awesome, you made it through the video! Thank you for supporting my channel 🤗 Happy New Year 🎊🎆
I have those small brushes. I can't stick to one media either. I have been trying to force myself to be more loose with art and not so tight and not focus on every detail, which just stresses me out. It's a great way to escape and not focus on my chronic illness... until my hands basically cramp up.... which is why I'm trying to be loose and carefree
I think that’s great that you’re trying to loosen up! As a coping mechanism for chronic illness and chronic pain I think loose expressive painting can’t be beat. There’s something so powerful and letting go of control and just allowing the paint to flow onto the paper. Wishing you a happy, healthy, creative New Year! 🎊🥳💕
@Linda Marcille, Beginners mind - Art mind thank you so much. May you have a healthy and wonderful New Year as well. I do find it hard most days to do art, but I will doodle and play around on those days.. just to free myself. You have been a huge inspiration for me to get back into art, thanks 😊.

Yes, I was really amazed at how well they activated. I didn’t expect them to be so creamy. Happy New Year Jackie! Thanks for watching all the way through. I really love the pencil cases!
I'm exactly like that too Linda! And I just bought a lot of these supplies! I'm waiting for a gift card to come and then I'll buy some acrylic paint for my gelli plate, but those Gansai watercolours look nice! I heard there was a problem with re wetting them on a palette??? or something on Natasha Newton's Patreon lately?? Sorry I don't remember...I love watching your videos! I'm so sorry you're not feeling well. I understand because I'm chronically ill with breathing difficulties. If I didn't have art I don't know what I'd do! I love Raphael brushes because they are made here in Quebec. But they are expensive! Everything is so expensive here! Art supplies are through the roof! You guys in the USA are so lucky because our dollar is only worth 0.75 cents so what you can get here is not much. Ah well, what can you do when you live in a shoe!! Happy New Year Linda, to your husband too. Much love xx By the way, how's your tiny house going? Are you going to have running water?
Enjoy your new art supplies and have many happy hours creating with them! My watercolors were very easy to activate. I’m so glad that you are enjoying my videos! We are not currently working on the tiny house. We need to sell some of our land to raise funds to work on it. We are not sure what the future will hold, just keeping the faith.
Happy Belated Birthday! And your makeup looks beautiful! It's not clownish or messed up or anything bad at all!☺
Thank you Amy for both the birthday wishes and reassuring me about my make up application skills lol. Happy new year!
Hi Linda. I was looking for artists who use kuratake gonzai tambe and found you. I know that you are just beginning to explore this paint and I wanted you to know how much I love them. Especially now that I've read about your your views on on how creating art is mentally, physically and spiritually beneficial. I I discovered watercolor painting in August of 2021 and have used it as therapy. This set of paints were one of my very first paints. I realize, rather quickly, that they are not like western style watercolor paints but, being a really basic beginner I hadn't discovered my style of painting and I dove in head first. I encourage you to remember these paints are not western style paints. They are designed for Japanese or Chinese style of painting. When I grabbed hold of that I was off and running. You are very talented in mixed media and these are wonderful paints to discover a different type of watercolor painting. With my limited experience, these paints have afforded me the ability to explore using different styles of brushes, paper, techniques without busting my budget. I believe I have benefited from that immensely. I am excited to learn more about you and how you have used art and creativity to enhance your journey. You offer hope to many of us who want to feel like we have the ability to do whatever we want to. Thank you I really look forward to getting to know you
Thanks so much for joining our creative community here on RUclips. We have a wonderful supportive group here. If you haven’t subscribed already I hope you’re will.
My professional career, (before health forced me to retire), was painting with dyes on silk so I have quite a bit of history with Japanese arts. The reason that I was inspired to purchase these paints is because I use both gouache and watercolor and I loved the idea of these being a cross between the two. I also really enjoyed the Japanesque gouache, I found those very fascinating to work with.
I firmly believe that my intuitive, expressive art practice is what carried me through the early years of my illness. And it continues to carry me through difficult times in my life. I love seeing others work their way through life‘s challenges using their creativity. It’s so exciting to hear how quickly you have become immersed in your own personal creative practice. Looking forward to sharing the journey!
You are gonna love those Derwent water brushes! I had the same problem as you with my water brushes, so I heard about these and I am loving them!

Happy new year Michael! Yay, you made it to the secret code word. That makes me so happy. You have been such a blessing to me as I have navigated this RUclips journey, learning the ins and outs LOL. Sending you wishes for all good things in 2023!
Hi Linda, Happpy New Year! Love seeing you open new goodies, and yes, I'd like to see you swatch out the Gansai Tambi (had to go back in the video to see the name - can't say it, won't remember it LOL). You look lovely - earrings matching glasses. It just feels good sometimes to gussy up just a bit eh? For some reason I just love that you are in the Northeast (I'm in Maine), and that you're closer to my age than many of the artists I follow. Actually I just turned 69 this month. (How the heck did that happen?) Not retired yet, but lately I have been treating myself to more art supplies. Have a great New Year's Eve - going to bed early IS a great way to usher in the New Year. So glad you are feeling better.
Hi Pat, Thanks for watching and sharing. Yes! we Yanks are a hardy breed, especially those of us born in the cold dark days of December. It really did feel good to get gussied up 🤗 Thanks for letting me know you would like to see the swatching. Happy New Year! Sleep well lol. 🎊💕🤗🥳
I love Tombow’s and don’t have a fave color, necessarily. The problem with Tombow wc dual tips, is that they make ZERO lightfast colors. So before I started doing more fine art and did a lot of adult coloring, I used Tombow’s a lot! Their quality certainly has the look of artist quality, but I can only use them for things that will never see daylight. I’ve even done two coloring postcards to compare, one with Tombow and one with artist quality watercolors and could not tell the difference. I imagine, though, it would be very costly for Tombow to develop a lightfast line in their markers., so we may never see them.
I only use markers in my sketchbooks and almost exclusively when health is flaring to much for me to get into the studio and I'm limited to creating in my "Art Nest". I never use markers in the work I sell so this is not an issue for me. Most illustrators don't mind because their work is digitalized. The wonderful thing about art supplies is that there are lots of alternatives out there for the broad spectrum of artists needs. 🖍👩🎨💕
Hi Linda, I just wanna say I love your art and videos. Very inspiring!! Marilyn
Thank you so much! Happy New Year 🎊🎆 🎉
My favorite Tombow marker colors are: yellow gold/026, green ochre/076, dark jade/177, and green gray/228. I fill in with favorite Faber Castell marker colors: green gold/268, raw umber/180, sanguine/188, India red/192 and dark indigo/157 (which I prefer to use as a black).
Thanks sooooo…. much! You were the first person to share your favorites. Very helpful 😘🤗🎊💕

Thanks for watching all the way through! 🙏💕🎊🤗
I really love Pentel water brushes if you find that you don't care for those, but if you buy them from Amazon, make sure that you get them from the Pentel Store not the knock off site.
Thanks for watching my video. I hope you enjoyed it. I just replaced my Pentel water brushes with the Derwent water brushes and so far I really like them.
Awesome haul Linda, just a question I'm new to tombow markers & like you I've been buying them singularly but I'm curious about the tombow clear lidded marker is that a blender? I'm in Australia & we have a store called officeworks that stocks singular tombows but also has a store brand called born. That is half the price with comparable similar qualities, the colour range isn't as prolific & have no idea of the light fastness of them either.
Happy New Year Michelle! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, the clear lidded markers are blenders. I’ve never really found them to be much of a use in my sketchbooks. Maybe they are dependent on the kind of paper you use? I just don’t find them useful. Sorry I don’t know anything about the other brand that you mentioned. Maybe you could search for a RUclips review on them to find out about light fastnesses.
The organizer in me (who is, for the record, fairly small and is often regulated to a tiny section of the back part of my brain where her whining is drowned out by the rest of me who loves me some good chaos) just *loves* those zipper organizers for pens. Everything all by color, all in one place, easily stored and doesn't look as cluttered. Swoonworthy.
The problem I find is that I forget what's in there. And my creation space is usually pretty small, so laying out the giant cases to flip through (when they're open, I mean) makes me feel a little cramped, sadly. I still use them (all my watercolor pencils are in one, all the luminance in another, all the derwent lightfast in a third) when I remember them, but I'm much more likely to use a thing if it's easily accessible and RIGHT IN MY FACE. I'm like a toddler with horrible object permanence sometimes.
I ended up getting a couple sets of marker organizer tray things and putting all the markers in those so I can see them. The crayons and neocolors are in little bins by color, standing up straight like pencils in a cup. (They were wooden "treat holders", with a plexiglass slide-in lid, about 5x7x3'-ish with six sections, and I think they were like five bucks or something on Amazon.). The colored pencils are in these cubes with an X-shaped divider in them, turned on their side and stacked, with each triangle of the X a different color. I keep those right next to me on the shelves next to the desk, so they're in arm's reach. And I literally use them maybe ten times a day now, vs. way less than that when they were all "organized" and out of sight. I'm finding a little chaos is kind of productive for me. (
So I used to have all my pencils in pretty ceramic cups on my desk and I loved the way it looked. I had my markers in bins sorted by colors in my drawers. I put them in the zipper cases so that I could use them in my “art nest“. (There are some videos on my art nest). So if you haven’t seen the video on my art nest I take a lap tray/bed tray and stand it on my lap in the recliner. Now that I have the pencil cases I lay them open on the tray. Then I just lay my sketchbook on top of that. The cases are large so it is a kind of big for your lap but with one of those little lap tables it helps.
@@BeginnersMind-ArtMind Thank you! I'm new to your channel, so I'll go look up that video.
@@conifercrow Welcome to the family 😉
I use my art for psin management as well as depression. I never show my work as mother always said that I am a failure, worthless, no good, I would never amount to anything, spending money on me was a waste of money.
Creativity is so wonderful for pain, depression and for me anxiety. I so glad you have a creative practice to help soothe those old wounds. What she said was all lies, but she must have been operating from a place of deep pain herself to discourage her daughter like that. Just remind yourself that all those lingering voices in your head are lies and free yourself from that past trauma. 🙏
I’m having a very different experience with the Princeton Neptune brushes. I find for their size they don’t hold enough water at all and I’m constantly having to rewet the brush. Also they are way too soft with no spring at all giving barely any control. I bought a whole set because people went on about them and was very disappointed.
I like them 🤷🏼♀️
