  • Lake Eildon is often spoken of as the Murray Cod lake with 'great potential'. The Ebb Tide Tackle crew have put in many big winters there fishing hard, Andy Smith and Ebb Tide have come up with some theories that are paying off.
    The use of technology to locate bait and fish in a heavily structured environment is challenging, however is possible with higher end sonar. Concentrating on those area's has resulted in some spectacular results using swimbait techniques.
    Come on the journey with us and subscribe to the channel, as we go about unlocking Lake Eildon Murray Cod secrets.

    Awesome stuff JC. Very well put together.
    I loved the part about dumping braid due to poor hook up rates.
    My cod fishing is much different than yours, I still love my braid.
    I do however refuse to use braid for my trout fishing. Line stretch is critical with fish that jump and carry on, just as it no doubt is with monster Murray cod.
    Great work mate.

      Thanks Robbie! You know i still love braid too, would be the first thing I use in the Murray but for swimbaiting in lakes fluro is now my first choice, horses for courses I say! Hope you are well bud.

      Man we have caught cod in every arm of Eildon, they release them all over the lake so there is no best spot, trust me! Just find a bank with nice structure and fish it hard, it's better than zooming all over the lake looking for the magic spot!

    i dont understand why people have such a low hook up rate with braid. Softbait, glidebait, segmented baits etc no issues. You guys aint trying to set hooks like the bass guys are ya hahaha ?.

    • @ebbtidetackle
      @ebbtidetackle  4 года назад

      It's a pretty common issue from a bunch of guys I know whether you strike or not! How do you go with it?

    • @Ozzierob
      @Ozzierob 4 года назад +1

      Don’t usually have any issues man after the initial tick. Dead hands is the key I reckon. Soon as that hook pricks they will spit it.
