The interest in Non-Monetary Benefit-Sharing (NMBS) has increased, especially after the adoption of the CBD COP15/9 decision on Digital Sequence Information (DSI), establishing a mechanism for benefit-sharing.
NMBS, along with DSI, is relevant in discussions within the World Health Organization, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea regarding marine biological diversity.
