- The 24 Hours of Le Mans isn’t just any race. It’s a grueling test of endurance, skill, and sheer willpower-a crucible where only the toughest can emerge victorious. Back in 1991, a relatively unknown Japanese automaker pulled off the impossible. Mazda’s 787B crossed the finish line first, etching its name into the annals of motorsport history. But how did this underdog manage to outpace the giants? What made the 787B so special that it could conquer one of the world’s most brutal races? This is the untold story of Mazda’s 787B-a tale of innovation, perseverance, and a high-stakes gamble that paid off in the most spectacular way.
The car never had turbos. Your story is wrong.
I will double check that so thank you for the comment!
Let’s go my friend. Keep up doing good content, I’m here with you.
LFG thanks man!!
and now rotary engines are allowed back at Le Mans through the hypercar regulations, meaning mazda could return back
Yep, i don’t think they have the funds for it, but I wish the triangle boiz would return. That would be proper fun!
@@only_revved_up it doesn't have to be mazda but it has opened up the possibility that a rotary-powered car could make it's return

Banned "Why?" Could it be that Mazda mopped the floor with everyone and they had no answer to win next year? Just guessing since you didn't say.
Oh, my bad! Many (myself included) believe they just wanted to align with F1 rules, so they cut rotaries. Basically have the same basics of a rule book for all races. Around 2021 they allowed rotary engines again for Hypercar class, but I don’t think there are any entries 😅
