@@xmant8842 i've heard the claim that goku isn't/wasn't intended to be a hero type, and i don't know if Akira Toriyama ever did say something like that, but it's nonsense. Goodness isn't a training motivation for goku, but it does drive his actions often when he sees innocent people being hurt. There are multiple times where he has no personal stake in a fight, and he gets mad just because bad people are doing bad things, and/or because he wants to protect people.
Goku normally waits for his opponent to get back up and fight more. He struggled here but he clearly went against his own ideals on that matter and went for Black when he was down, that’s how unforgivable what Black did was.
As for what's happening to Trunks; He's basically going trough a type of "enraged" state ( Broly-esqe ), yet lucid enough to control. All Saiyans zenkai differently, depending on their personalities. Remember, saiyan zenkai in hybrids and pures can manifest from emotional side of trauma ( in fact all of Gohans zenkais were from emotional trauma, Goku went super from watching his best bud get blown up in front of him however he is a pure "righteous" saiyan )Now that "pure righteous" is contrasted here; Trunks embracing his evil side if that's what's necessary. Ending him up in "I'm now Broly bit** but I use it at will, I'm coming for you with the intent to kill" state. This is what separates Goku and Vegeta from the rest of the gang, they often rage out however they exhibit extreme control - a lot ( Blue ). Saying more would cause spoilers. But yeah, that's the way I see it.
The voice acting in this arc is phenomenal to say the least. The animation really got a boost and my jaw dropped the first time I saw it. I still get the same feeling watching you two react to it. It still feels just as fresh, just as epic. It's DBS at its best
i was teaching 9th grade Art when Super was airing. Me and My 7th period class would have discussions every week on what happened and tried to make predictions. it was definitely a fun time.
The form Future Trunks assumed after the Zamasus blamed him for time traveling is called "Super Saiyan Rage/Anger". That name was also used for Gohan in the old dbz game boy game Legacy of Goku 2.
I loved the fact that Zamasu's Zero Mortal Plan is basically foolproof. Use Super Dragon Balls to switch bodies with Goku, use the time-ring to ally with himself and make him immortal, destroy said dragon balls, kill all the Kais which then kill all the destroyers, and travel to an overlooked timeline. It seemed like the perfect plan.
Not to mention that Goku Black was smart enough to destroy Future Trunks' time machine to try to prevent him from getting into the future after he fought the real Goku
I love how when Zamasu talks he always gives insight into his view on the state of the universe and the mortals that live in it. He speaks as a person with a higher sense of understanding but also a madman at the same time.
When a Saiyan loses their pupils they are in full on rage mode and not in full control. Their power is surging past what they can control. It happened when Beerus slapped Bulma and when Brolys dad got killed.
Now she gets to see Trunks' new form in action. His new form is still strange to me because it doesn't fully explain what it truly is, so people came up with Super Saiyan Rage or some other names that fit his new form. It will be interesting to see Madison's reaction to a specific fusion return soon.
@@AnimeAndrew1983well actually it is called Super Sayian Ikari. It is basically SSJ Blue but in unique Trunk's Style. They have to some how reduce the power gap between Trunks and Goku+Vegeta. Since Trunks didnt have any god training he had to improve in his own way - by pure rage (more sayian style). This form is like a mixture of a few existing forms: SSJ2 (sparks), USSJ (muscles), FSSJ (eyes - no pupils) and SSJB (blueish aura).
What I'm confused on is that Goku black was formed because goku challenged zamasu correct? But the only reason goku went to universe 10 is that goku black showed up and they were trying to figure out who he was, so did goku black technically create himself?

@@jrninjaboy915 It’s a time loop from the looks of it. Time Loops have no beginning or end, it’s just a cycle. Beerus broke that cycle when he destroyed Zamasu, thus creating new timelines where Zamasu success in stealing Goku’s body, and one where he doesn’t succeed (the main timeline).
I really do love this episode. Whether it's true or not is debatable, but being told that everything Trunks has done is causing all this pain now, that instead of making things better he made things worse, is a lot to bare and for someone like Trunks who wanted to believe he could make a better world, it's clear how that would anger him this much. The Z timeline should not exist as we know it, with all the Z warriors alive, that's just a fact. Trunks going back in time changed it for the better, but there needs to be ramifications for that action.

What an episode, one of my favorites. It has always been or mostly with Dragonball that the enemy has the upper hand and the heroes somehow find a way. I can't wait to relive the next one and see how Madison reacts.
I was already emotionally compromised at the start of this, having cried watching the new Warcraft stuff, cause I cry every time on that lol and so I cried through this whole episode. This was my episode, the one that started it all for me, the one that first made me fall in love with Zamasu. Based on Tumblr it was someone else’s episode too, which actually was very interesting to see, I like that multiple people had the same episode as me. I mean I only saw the one person saying that but I’m sure it was other people’s episode too.
This may be a stupid question, but if gohan was there with goku to hear how zamasu got goku's body and the death of chi-chi and goten, would we have seen the early appearance of Beast Gohan?
Most likely not because that would have been before the Tournament of Power so Gohan wouldn't have regained his full powered Ultimate form that's needed in order to reach Beast.
Fun theory!! It wasn't the time ring that saved zamasu Goku black, that zamasu came from the timeline that the trunks that was killed by cell went back to save Wich is another different timeline that Goku survived and eventually went thru the same things from the main timeline meeting Beerus, remember there's "currently" only 1 original timeline and 4 alternate timelines
No, you're over complicating it. The dub messed it up too. Beerus was wrong. Black is from the DBS timeline, before Trunks changed the timeline. The timeline went Goku lives as normal, then Zamasu steals his body and leaves to Trunks timeline. Trunks goes back in time and prevents this from happening, so now we're in a new timeline where Goku lives. It's the exact same scenario as the Cell arc. Black is unaffected because he's from a different timeline where Beerus never got to kill him
Hmm guess that doesn't explain trunks and Goku/Vegeta and Bulma going back and forth thru time, maybe since they were going back to the Future and returning to that timeline with the machine it didn't create extra timelines, hard to explain stuff lol
People can say what they want about Goku and his personality. But when he loses it and says he's gonna "make you pay!" No one has gotten out of that without tasting a beatdown. And the voice acting from Sean Schemmel is always top tier in those moments.

In regards feeling of "hopelessness" in this saga.... I'm glad you feel that way because that's what you're supposed to feel. Remember When Bulma nearest trunks back to heath in the history of trunks movie and told trunks about Goku and how he gives hope and when you're with them you feel everything is going to be ok? Then Trunks puts "Hope" on his time machine to inspire that. Well this saga attempts to attack that symbolism by having Zamasu steal Goku's body and rain down terror against Future Trunks and his timeline, and everything he's ever loved and achieved. They do this in order to torment Trunks, to beat him. As the Saga goes on.... It's sort of building Future Trunks trunks up to be metaphorically speaking larger than life character, to become the new symbol of "Hope" instead of Goku since he can't rely people from the past helping him and his endeavors forever. In any scenario if Future Trunks had his own series this would make him into a main character. *If he had his own series.*

Since the very topic of the time travel shenanigans is still relevant, let's make sure everything is consistent. *(Timeline explanation)* There's a lot to unpack from this and probably in the next video as well because people still haven't figured out the timeline in regards to.... Which is fine because it took a long time to figure out the cell saga time shenanigans. *But here is the timeline we know so far....* Regarding who Goku black is, I want you to remember all the events going forward throughout Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball super from the U6 arc. Next we factor in Zamasu into this.... We're going to call this Present-Zamasu (A) Zamasu becomes aware of Goku and the Super Dragonballs, in what way? We don't know, probably GodTube (it happened in the manga so it's not a far-fetched here) Contacts Zuno, learns about the Super Dragon balls, gathers them and wishes to switch bodies with Goku. The Present-zamasu (A) is *Goku Black* That is the shocking sad part of the whole entire.... Goku blacks body is the same body from the Goku we've been following all the way back from the beginning. Present-Zamasu (A) Goku Black then kills Goku in Zamasu's body. What he does to the Earth after that is unknown. However in Goku black's he realizes he doesn't want to do his conquest alone so he recruits the only person he can trust. We later know Goku Black goes to the Future timeline to recruit himself (such narcissism) Now you may think, why did it take so long for zamasu in the future to kill Gowasu? Well it's pretty obvious Goku had some influence with the Present Zamasu (A) to steal Goku's body. But since Future Trunk's timeline didn't have a Goku (Because that Goku is dead) this factor would differ Future Zamasu's wish when Goku black introduced him to the Super Dragonballs, FYI he would wish for "immortality" instead (the word immortality stated in the Japanese dub) The only thing that possibly links these 2 zamasu's together personality-wise is the fact that they hate mortals. This also will explain why they're attacking Future Trunk's timeline.... For you see unlike Presence-Zamasu (A) who was fixated on Goku FYI stealing his body. Futures Zamasu on the other hand was fixated on Future Trunks considering he was spying on the events of the Android saga when Future Trunks time traveled across time to give the heart virus cure to Goku. And since time travel is a massive Divine violation, they decide to commit all out war against Future Trunks and everything he's ever loved. Which is sad if you think about it.... Trunks put the word "Hope" on his machine time machine because his mother told him everything about Goku, and Goku black (in Goku's body) is using that to symbolically destroy all "hope" and not just to Future Trunks to emotionally beat him.... But all "hope" in everything. But anyways.... Goku black and future zamasu want to implement *"Project Zero Mortals"* But they knew that unless they get the gods out of the way, they're not going to be able to do anything. So they killed all the Supreme Kai's, thus killing all the Gods of destruction, thus leaving all the Angel attendant relieved of duty. They also said they attacked other planets so possibly New Namek as well? (Maybe) if that's the case no more Namek-Dragonballs in the future timeline. So anyways they both make it to Future Trunk's Earth and Goku Black reigns complete havock. He battles with trunks for a full year. Eventually trunks uses the time machine and to the present a full week before Zamasu becomes aware of Goku. *THUS CREATING A NEW TIMELINE.* This timeline RIGHT HERE is the one we are currently following for now on despite it being a brand new timeline created by Future Trunks. But as we know..... A new timeline creates new differences. (Which whis warns about) As you know Goku black did for dip from the future to this new present timeline and battle regular Goku. The fight ends abruptly.... And that's where Whis Beerus and Goku go to investigate and here we meet Present-Zamasu (B) and as you know later on he was Hakai'd by Beerus. And here we are now with the main characters dealing with the chaos in Future Trunks timeline. So just a small recap.... -Present Zamasu (A) is Goku Black -Future zamasu is the one tagging along with Goku Black -Present Zamasu (B) was Hakai'd by Beerus. There are still many bits of this time line that haven't been solved yet because there was also an infinite predestination time-loop in the middle of this.... I can't begin to tell you where that fits in. But that is what everyone knows so far as of now.
So hear me out, if he despised mortals. There’s a couple things I gotta say or air out to see if it sounds weird. If he had a super dragon balls, couldn’t he have just wished for all the mortals to disappear ? Also, if he had such an issue with the world he was in couldn’t he have just wished for an an entire new universe that replicated everything he wanted to be in it, and just went there to live ? I really wish this form of Trunks was called - 'Super Saiyan False God' or 'False God Super Saiyan' instead of the kinda generic Super Saiyan Rage... This form is said to "mimic" the god ki used in Super Saiyan Blue but isn't really the real thing... That being said it really brings out the unadulterated emotions and desperation of Trunks as he takes the final stand of humanity of his time against the evil god duo.
Zamasu from trunks timeline never met goku cuz he died already thats why he was not surprised seing goku black. Goku black came from the timeline that we knows where goku survived.

zamasu Goku black lactures has it reason but what my boy trunks could do? back dammit man this episode had it moment. many plots, many secrets reveal, Goku's rage and action, and zamasu and black dialogues lectures all 10/10. not gonna say anything about rage form cause they could atleast gave us little more screenplay on vegeta training future trunks. future trunks already trained under supreme kai and surpassed buu saga super Saiyan 2 gohan and been fighting black whole 1 year. damage+ healing+half breeds= power boost
My own head-canon for the new form Trunks gets is an empowered super saiyan that has an ounce of divine energy in it (the small blue aura around him). Since he wasn't ever a part of the ritual, he probably can't attain a level like SSG on his own but has the potential to reach that form or a similar one somehow.
To prevent myself from getting confused I just refer to this Zamasu as Future Zamasu. And then Goku Black is from a timeline that is like the regular timeline in every way right up until the body swap

I do see 1 problem with the creation of Goku Black.. if Zamasu decided to take Goku's body after having been beaten by him.. BUT he only fought Goku after he was already created and wreaking havoc in Trunks' time-line.. how did he actually originate?
Notice the keyword here, Trunks said “kill” not “beat” or “defeat you”. That explains how Trunks is built different than Goku, Vegeta and Gohan. If there’s an opportunity to kill an enemy, he does it rather than being a problem later on which Goku, Vegeta and Gohan always had. He doesn’t play around, living in his world is kill or be killed

I love how when Zamasu talks he always gives insight into his view on the state of the universe and the mortals that live in it. He speaks as a person with a higher sense of understanding but also a madman at the same time.
When a Saiyan loses their pupils they are in full on rage mode and not in full control. Their power is surging past what they can control.
It happened when Beerus slapped Bulma and when Brolys dad got killed.
Now she gets to see Trunks' new form in action. His new form is still strange to me because it doesn't fully explain what it truly is, so people came up with Super Saiyan Rage or some other names that fit his new form. It will be interesting to see Madison's reaction to a specific fusion return soon.

@@AnimeAndrew1983well actually it is called Super Sayian Ikari. It is basically SSJ Blue but in unique Trunk's Style. They have to some how reduce the power gap between Trunks and Goku+Vegeta. Since Trunks didnt have any god training he had to improve in his own way - by pure rage (more sayian style). This form is like a mixture of a few existing forms: SSJ2 (sparks), USSJ (muscles), FSSJ (eyes - no pupils) and SSJB (blueish aura).

Basically Goku Black comes from an unaltered version of the main timeline. Where he succeeds in killing Gowasu and stealing Goku’s body.
What I'm confused on is that Goku black was formed because goku challenged zamasu correct? But the only reason goku went to universe 10 is that goku black showed up and they were trying to figure out who he was, so did goku black technically create himself?

@@jrninjaboy915 It’s a time loop from the looks of it. Time Loops have no beginning or end, it’s just a cycle. Beerus broke that cycle when he destroyed Zamasu, thus creating new timelines where Zamasu success in stealing Goku’s body, and one where he doesn’t succeed (the main timeline).

I really do love this episode. Whether it's true or not is debatable, but being told that everything Trunks has done is causing all this pain now, that instead of making things better he made things worse, is a lot to bare and for someone like Trunks who wanted to believe he could make a better world, it's clear how that would anger him this much. The Z timeline should not exist as we know it, with all the Z warriors alive, that's just a fact. Trunks going back in time changed it for the better, but there needs to be ramifications for that action.

The concept of a causal loop is explored in this arc. The appearance of Goku Black in the Future timeline lead to the creation of Goku Black in the present time line, the loop goes on and on.Beerus destroying present Zamasu broke the loop :)

What an episode, one of my favorites. It has always been or mostly with Dragonball that the enemy has the upper hand and the heroes somehow find a way. I can't wait to relive the next one and see how Madison reacts.
English Dub line delivery was fantastic, but the Japanese dialogue for Trunks for this transformation was much more epic

I was already emotionally compromised at the start of this, having cried watching the new Warcraft stuff, cause I cry every time on that lol and so I cried through this whole episode. This was my episode, the one that started it all for me, the one that first made me fall in love with Zamasu. Based on Tumblr it was someone else’s episode too, which actually was very interesting to see, I like that multiple people had the same episode as me. I mean I only saw the one person saying that but I’m sure it was other people’s episode too.
This may be a stupid question, but if gohan was there with goku to hear how zamasu got goku's body and the death of chi-chi and goten, would we have seen the early appearance of Beast Gohan?

Most likely not because that would have been before the Tournament of Power so Gohan wouldn't have regained his full powered Ultimate form that's needed in order to reach Beast.

It wasn't the time ring that saved zamasu Goku black, that zamasu came from the timeline that the trunks that was killed by cell went back to save Wich is another different timeline that Goku survived and eventually went thru the same things from the main timeline meeting Beerus, remember there's "currently" only 1 original timeline and 4 alternate timelines
No, you're over complicating it. The dub messed it up too. Beerus was wrong. Black is from the DBS timeline, before Trunks changed the timeline. The timeline went Goku lives as normal, then Zamasu steals his body and leaves to Trunks timeline. Trunks goes back in time and prevents this from happening, so now we're in a new timeline where Goku lives. It's the exact same scenario as the Cell arc. Black is unaffected because he's from a different timeline where Beerus never got to kill him
Basically all of this can be head Cannon stuff as it's not exactly explained well in the show

In regards feeling of "hopelessness" in this saga.... I'm glad you feel that way because that's what you're supposed to feel.
Remember When Bulma nearest trunks back to heath in the history of trunks movie and told trunks about Goku and how he gives hope and when you're with them you feel everything is going to be ok? Then Trunks puts "Hope" on his time machine to inspire that.
Well this saga attempts to attack that symbolism by having Zamasu steal Goku's body and rain down terror against Future Trunks and his timeline, and everything he's ever loved and achieved. They do this in order to torment Trunks, to beat him.
As the Saga goes on.... It's sort of building Future Trunks trunks up to be metaphorically speaking larger than life character, to become the new symbol of "Hope" instead of Goku since he can't rely people from the past helping him and his endeavors forever.
In any scenario if Future Trunks had his own series this would make him into a main character. *If he had his own series.*

Since the very topic of the time travel shenanigans is still relevant, let's make sure everything is consistent.
*(Timeline explanation)*
There's a lot to unpack from this and probably in the next video as well because people still haven't figured out the timeline in regards to.... Which is fine because it took a long time to figure out the cell saga time shenanigans.
*But here is the timeline we know so far....*
Regarding who Goku black is, I want you to remember all the events going forward throughout Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball super from the U6 arc.
Next we factor in Zamasu into this.... We're going to call this Present-Zamasu (A)
Zamasu becomes aware of Goku and the Super Dragonballs, in what way? We don't know, probably GodTube (it happened in the manga so it's not a far-fetched here)
Contacts Zuno, learns about the Super Dragon balls, gathers them and wishes to switch bodies with Goku.
The Present-zamasu (A) is *Goku Black* That is the shocking sad part of the whole entire.... Goku blacks body is the same body from the Goku we've been following all the way back from the beginning.
Present-Zamasu (A) Goku Black then kills Goku in Zamasu's body. What he does to the Earth after that is unknown. However in Goku black's he realizes he doesn't want to do his conquest alone so he recruits the only person he can trust.
We later know Goku Black goes to the Future timeline to recruit himself (such narcissism)
Now you may think, why did it take so long for zamasu in the future to kill Gowasu? Well it's pretty obvious Goku had some influence with the Present Zamasu (A) to steal Goku's body. But since Future Trunk's timeline didn't have a Goku (Because that Goku is dead) this factor would differ Future Zamasu's wish when Goku black introduced him to the Super Dragonballs, FYI he would wish for "immortality" instead (the word immortality stated in the Japanese dub) The only thing that possibly links these 2 zamasu's together personality-wise is the fact that they hate mortals.
This also will explain why they're attacking Future Trunk's timeline.... For you see unlike Presence-Zamasu (A) who was fixated on Goku FYI stealing his body. Futures Zamasu on the other hand was fixated on Future Trunks considering he was spying on the events of the Android saga when Future Trunks time traveled across time to give the heart virus cure to Goku.
And since time travel is a massive Divine violation, they decide to commit all out war against Future Trunks and everything he's ever loved. Which is sad if you think about it.... Trunks put the word "Hope" on his machine time machine because his mother told him everything about Goku, and Goku black (in Goku's body) is using that to symbolically destroy all "hope" and not just to Future Trunks to emotionally beat him.... But all "hope" in everything.
But anyways.... Goku black and future zamasu want to implement *"Project Zero Mortals"*
But they knew that unless they get the gods out of the way, they're not going to be able to do anything. So they killed all the Supreme Kai's, thus killing all the Gods of destruction, thus leaving all the Angel attendant relieved of duty. They also said they attacked other planets so possibly New Namek as well? (Maybe) if that's the case no more Namek-Dragonballs in the future timeline.
So anyways they both make it to Future Trunk's Earth and Goku Black reigns complete havock. He battles with trunks for a full year. Eventually trunks uses the time machine and to the present a full week before Zamasu becomes aware of Goku. *THUS CREATING A NEW TIMELINE.*
This timeline RIGHT HERE is the one we are currently following for now on despite it being a brand new timeline created by Future Trunks.
But as we know..... A new timeline creates new differences. (Which whis warns about)
As you know Goku black did for dip from the future to this new present timeline and battle regular Goku. The fight ends abruptly.... And that's where Whis Beerus and Goku go to investigate and here we meet Present-Zamasu (B) and as you know later on he was Hakai'd by Beerus.
And here we are now with the main characters dealing with the chaos in Future Trunks timeline.
So just a small recap....
-Present Zamasu (A) is Goku Black
-Future zamasu is the one tagging along with Goku Black
-Present Zamasu (B) was Hakai'd by Beerus.
There are still many bits of this time line that haven't been solved yet because there was also an infinite predestination time-loop in the middle of this.... I can't begin to tell you where that fits in.
But that is what everyone knows so far as of now.
So hear me out, if he despised mortals. There’s a couple things I gotta say or air out to see if it sounds weird.
If he had a super dragon balls, couldn’t he have just wished for all the mortals to disappear ?
Also, if he had such an issue with the world he was in couldn’t he have just wished for an an entire new universe that replicated everything he wanted to be in it, and just went there to live ? Maybe I’m just thinking too in-depth to the situation
For your first theory that wouldn’t eliminate the other gods and they’d definitely do something about it. The second, Zamasu wanted to cleanse all of creation, not just one universe.

I really wish this form of Trunks was called - 'Super Saiyan False God' or 'False God Super Saiyan' instead of the kinda generic Super Saiyan Rage...
This form is said to "mimic" the god ki used in Super Saiyan Blue but isn't really the real thing... That being said it really brings out the unadulterated emotions and desperation of Trunks as he takes the final stand of humanity of his time against the evil god duo.
I've been wait for this episode to come out. To see Madison's reaction to the truth of Goku Black/Zamasu yeah, it definitely was worth the wait.
Zamasu from trunks timeline never met goku cuz he died already thats why he was not surprised seing goku black. Goku black came from the timeline that we knows where goku survived.

back dammit man this episode had it moment. many plots, many secrets reveal, Goku's rage and action, and zamasu and black dialogues lectures all 10/10. not gonna say anything about rage form cause they could atleast gave us little more screenplay on vegeta training future trunks. future trunks already trained under supreme kai and surpassed buu saga super Saiyan 2 gohan and been fighting black whole 1 year. damage+ healing+half breeds= power boost
I think Black is really the Zamasu from Future Trunks' timeline, because Trunks was the one who split the timeline in the first place
My own head-canon for the new form Trunks gets is an empowered super saiyan that has an ounce of divine energy in it (the small blue aura around him). Since he wasn't ever a part of the ritual, he probably can't attain a level like SSG on his own but has the potential to reach that form or a similar one somehow.

I do see 1 problem with the creation of Goku Black.. if Zamasu decided to take Goku's body after having been beaten by him.. BUT he only fought Goku after he was already created and wreaking havoc in Trunks' time-line.. how did he actually originate?

Notice the keyword here, Trunks said “kill” not “beat” or “defeat you”. That explains how Trunks is built different than Goku, Vegeta and Gohan. If there’s an opportunity to kill an enemy, he does it rather than being a problem later on which Goku, Vegeta and Gohan always had.

what I dont understand is why didn't zamasu wish for all the mortals of the universe to disappear, and then destroy the super dragonballs. He could have saved time and wasted less energy by trying to wipeout the mortals manually. He really isn;t that bright. Zamasu, even could have wished to be the strongest in all 12 universes, yet he simply chose to switch bodies with Goku.
