Riding the buses is a great way to see the DR. The people are going to work, visiting family, shopping, and other errands. These are friendly people, who will help you with directions as you navigate the bus system. They are so different from people who live off of tourism. I went all over the island by bus and it does not cost a lot.

We took the bus from Santo Domingo. The name of the bus service is Asomiro Expresso Romana. The cost was 180 pesos. The bus ride is around 2 hours. The resort we stayed was Catalonia Royal La Romana ( Adult only side ) average $145 a night. Once you reach the last stop in La Romana you will have to take a small bus to the resorts in Bayahibe.

Bus station in Boca Chica ( Asochombca ) you would have to take a Uber from SDQ airport.
