    Still don't understand why you need to add the Mass coming into the element @ABCD to the rate of change of mass in the x-direction in the element to get the mass exiting the element at EFGH, anyone?

    • @debodeep2730
      @debodeep2730 6 лет назад +1

      I too have the same doubt the rate of change term should be substracted......from the mass entering ABCD....that will give the mass leaving from EFGH

    • @vivek-yo5zv
      @vivek-yo5zv 5 лет назад +2

      We have to add rate of change in mass with mass entering the face ABCD. It's because the here we use integration to find the rate of change in mass which gives exact value of change in mass it may be positive or negative. So by adding the rate of change in mass with the mass entering through the face ABCD we will get the mass of fluid leaving through the face EFGH. He take 2kg-1kg just as an example.

    Nice lecture but I think mass through efgh - mass through abcd because rate of increase in mass x direction will positive not negative if we will considered negative it will not increase in mass it will decrease in mass.......check it

    • @idreesafridi6494
      @idreesafridi6494 6 лет назад

      dear the increase or decrease in mass inside the control volume depends upon the leaving mass it is possible that the leaving mass is greater than the entering mass so in this case the net mass rate inside the control volume will be negative. similarly if the out flow rate is less than the inlet flow rate then net mass rate inside the control volume will be positive.
