Very good vid even though it's four years old. Helpful if you click on Closed Captions, as he talks very fast and it takes watching several times in specific areas to get it right. I'm not a web site programmer, but this worked in deleting WP from HostGator account. Thank you!!

Hello there, thanks very useful thanks, I was wondering if you had any tips about doing same thing with an addon domain, ie do I have to do anything with the .htaccess file in the addon domains folder, thanks

      Hi @James Reed,
Thanks for the message. So to be honest, not 100% sure. Haven't done that ourselves. That being said: "If you have a single domain, go to public_html to find the .htaccess file. (If you have other domains, access that domain's document root to edit the .htaccess.)." (www.hostgator.com/help/article/how-to-edit-your-htaccess-file). In the past when there's this type of issue where I'm not sure what to do, I've reached out to HostGator support directly (by phone in the US or by chat), and found that they're often pretty helpful.
Hope this helps! Sorry we didn't have a direct answer!

Once I delete my website, can I use the exact same website name, or would I have to wait for a certain period of time?

does this let me reuse the domain? when I reinstall wordpress can I create a new web site with the same name of the one I had before?

      Hi @Zoé Martínez,
If I understand the question correctly, I think so! You can only have one site per top-level domain at a time, but if you were to delete the site, then reinstall, and connect to you old domain, I think it should work. If you haven't already, sometimes I find it useful to poke around here: www.hostgator.com/help. The process itself I think would depend if you bought the domain through Hostgator or instead through a third-party. One place I might start poking around is here: www.hostgator.com/blog/quick-answers-common-support-qs/
      Hope that helps!
