My attempt at a nuanced take on the seltzers.
1. An initial release is going to be more expensive, especially as on online only brand. Is the price point too high? Most likely yes. At the same time, the price is likely determined by as many factors outside of their control as it is within (such as their suppliers and partners with the product). Hopefully the price does go down, and it would be a bad look if it doesn’t.
2. I think people are overreacting to the price point. People are acting like their content is behind a pay-gate because of this. I understand the criticisms of taking advantage of the fan base but I don’t think enough people are realizing that there are some well off people who don’t mind paying extra to support content creators they enjoy. No one is forcing anyone to buy the product.
3. I think people are put off because they want to support the channel but feel they can’t afford the price point of the seltzers, so they are disappointed. That is perfectly valid. But supporting them also includes just watching and liking their content so it’s not like this is the only avenue the everyday person has. I’ve never bought a BDS product, but liking and commenting on their videos generates income for them all the same, and it doesn’t cost me anything.
4. The toxicity and the obsession in the comments is just as off putting as the product itself. I enjoy reading the comments on these videos for the same reasons anyone does, but there is so much judgement and condescension from both sides that it is unbearable. And yes, I don’t have to look at the comments, much in the same way no one has to buy the product.
TL;DR - I do think the initial price point is high but I think the reasons for it are valid and it should come down in time, and I will be disappointed if it doesn’t. I also think that people losing their mind over a product that they are in no way forced to buy whilst having easy and unlimited access to the content this group is producing is tiring.
Prob the best take on the situation. Was initially pretty annoyed for the reasons u said. Want to support the boys, but not gonna get fleeced on seltzers you drink once lol. But like u said not forced to buy them and still can watch the content for free so im over it lol.

@ryanh2229 initial sales in a release mean nearly nothing. Return customers remain to be seen. A one time $80 donation isn't as tough to swallow as repeatedly making that same donation, especially considering these donations go straight to their pockets. This is not a booze for the fans

If so many people care so much about people making money running a business (I'm also replying to the Todd guy in the subcomments here), just don't buy anything ever and you better cancel your Jeff Bezos, I mean Amazon, accounts. People are in business to make money. Would you rather the boys get paid or some commie billionaire? So many of you guys need to really ponder the negativity you have towards others.

Absolutely love the videos. I know it is all for fun but, when playing a handicapped challenge to make things fair, you should also play by the rules to keep things fair. On hole 6 Joey going over the fence, is out of bounds. He should have to re-tee. OB is a stoke and distance penalty. He can't just drop in the clear and hit 3 to the green. Totally banged Perez there. Still the most entertaining channel on RUclips.

Unpopular opinion: 2022 BDS was elite compared to 2024. Sure the quality now is far superior, but I go back to the old videos and I was cracking up a whole lot more. Now I barely get a chuckle in on these videos.

When we play Lone Wolf, there’s a consistent tee off order, but we rotate who tees off each hole with the wolf always going last. After each drive, the wolf must decide to go with that person or pass entirely on them. This puts a little extra strategy into it. For example, say Bob tees off first, followed by Joey then FP (wolf). Bob hits it into the fairway, safe but not long. FP now has to decide if he wants to bet on Joey hitting a better shot (to pass on Bob’s) or he might just play it safe and go with Bob (and possibly miss out on a striped drive by Joe). Once Joe tees off, FP can no longer play with Bob that hole. So after Joe hits, FP can either elect to go with Joe or go LW. But FP must declare LW before hitting his drive, so he can’t wait to see how good his own drive is before he chooses whether to go with Joe or alone. Love the channel, guys.
