    I just bought the 45, exchanging it though as it came scratched :/. Had a really hard time with the size from the 45 or 55. Wish they had a 50 in the style i wanted.

    • @rockededge8244
      @rockededge8244  8 лет назад +2

      Hello jct6808!
      Firstly, thank you so much for watching and taking time to comment. :)
      I'm sorry to hear that your 45 Keepall was scratched. If you bought it new in store, they will exchange it as long as you have the receipt, original packaging and go back fairly quickly. To avoid this thing happening, I always request to inspect the new bag (the SA gets from the back room) before s/he packages it in the box... because it can happen that you end up with one you are not happy with. The size 50 is a good size between the 45 and 55 if you are in between sizes....and still the 50 can hold a lot of things - again, when packed smartly!
      I hope everything works out for you with the exchange!
      Thanks a million again for watching! Stay tuned for more fun, interesting videos in the pipeline!

      Hello Persimmone! What a lovely name you have here on YT! Thank you so much for your kind words! Really, really appreciate it and glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. I know it's hard to find an LV strap in a good vintage condition for your Keepall. May I kindly suggest that you can consider buying a brand new one (those are available to buy separately at an authorised LV store) and with time it will obtain that honey patina. In fact, if you want to expedite the process put any new vacchetta leather exposed to sun for a few days and it will start to darken... Hope that helps...
      Yes, your other option of buying a custom one is also cool. You will give your Keepall a different and unique look! Go for it! Would love to hear what you decide to do! :) xoxo
      Best wishes and Rock Your World!

    Keepalls aren't very good if you're carrying expensive/valuable items because there are no pockets to hold them in place and stop them from rattling/clashing with other things in the bag. For carrying clothes etc it works perfectly

  • @ashleighwhitman6637
    @ashleighwhitman6637 6 лет назад +2

    Definitely don't get a new one - just send it in to get a facelift! New Vachetta leather pieces will do the trick and will save you the cost of a brand new one and you will still have your mother's keepall which is priceless!!

    The canvas is made out of PVC or a type of plastic if you are not aware. You come across like the canvas is leather but it’s not, it’s a common mistake. I have a keepall as well, if you travelled for a week with this bag your shoulders must have hurt a lot cause it gets darn heavy too 😆

      @rockededge8244  5 лет назад

      Hello Ester - Thank you for watching and for your question. Sorry I am a bit late by 2 weeks! I would take the size 55. More room just in case and you are packing for 2 people. It also depends where you going (weather conditions ) and what are you planning to take with you. If you go minimal, the 45 can do the trick but it may get heavy. Better the 55 I would say. Hope this helps! All the best

      Hello, thank you for watching and sorry to respond to your message now. I think the 45 size looks good at anyone - it's a very good size bag for both men and women and you can fit a lot. If you want to travel more than 2-3 days, then the 50 or 55 sizes would be the ones to go for. The 45 is good for a day / gym / weekend away bag. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have purchased a keepall!

    thank you for this amazing video, I wanted your advice if possible... am a mom of a 3 yo and I can´t choose from a 45 or a 55. We travel a lot but maybe for me as a mom is more comfortable to have a wheel one (as I´ve been using) and use a 45 more as a "travel bag" as I do with my Neverfull (but with the advantage that keepall has a zipper!... OR... but the 55 that might be less comfortable for a mom but could be more versitle or fit more stuff... don´t know... I´m so confused about the size

    • @rockededge8244
      @rockededge8244  6 лет назад +2

      @Leo On the Go - firstly, thank you so much for watching and finding the video useful. I am very humbled you wanting some further advice and it is my pleasure to help you, hopefully making the decision process easier. Secondly, apologies if my response here is lengthy. I want to ensure that I give you a thorough, detailed answer.
      Keepalls are great for travelling, their weakness is that if they get stuffed to the brim, they get very heavy. When they are heavy, the shoulder strap really does damage to your shoulder because of the weight. This goes for all Keepals, no matter the size. They get very, very heavy.
      Keepall 55 is for travel (cabin approved) and more for a 5-7 days trip (depending how and what you pack, it can last for 2 weeks). Keepall 45 is for shorter 2-4 days trip (again, depending how and what you pack - can last you longer). It can also be used as a gym bag, etc. It's only 5 cm longer than the Speedy 40; so it's not a huge bag. And it does not look huge either.
      If you want to invest in a Keepall, I would recommend go with the bigger size, the 55 because you will have the extra space (if you ever need it in the future). Having extra space is always handy!
      You are right in that, choosing an LV dufflebag with (concealed) wheels will be easier to travel - especially when you have a very young child. You would not want to have a heavy Keepall on your shoulder...
      Have a look at the "Neo Eole 55" model (it is also available in size 65, perhaps too big) which comes in the LV Monogram and Damier Ebene designs. This might be an alternative option to the Keepals for you. I would also recommend visiting your nearest LV boutique to try the Keepals and the "Neo Eole" and see how you feel...
      Lastly, it all comes down how you pack the Keepals. Smart packing means that you can take all the items you need and manage the weight accordingly. This is my personal experience travelling for over 25 years using not only Keepals (but any luggage). No matter what luggage one has, you just want to be light!
      Hope the above was helpful. More than happy to answer any more questions you may have. Apologies again for the lengthy reply. Thank you so much again! Rock your World! xoxo RE

    • @leoonthego5077
      @leoonthego5077 6 лет назад +1

      Wow! so kind of you for your quick and lovely response! It helped me A LOT, I´m not into the LV luggage with wheels because with wheels I prefer other brands more "technical" (sorry for my English) but I´ve been wanting so much a Duffle bag, for my travels, sometimes they come handy as some sort of "handbag" when you have to take tons of kids stuff for 12 hours flight which happens a lot to me. Now that you were so kind to explain me how heavy they can get if stuffed I can think about when exactly I am going used them, I think It will depend of the kind of trip... I think 45 could be more like a "huge purse" for some trips where I would love to take my Neverfull but impossible since it has no zipper and in long flight with a kid everything could fall aroud... BUT, as you said, extra space is always handy so if I can ask something else : if I get a 55 and I did not fill it, is it still going to look too big to be like a gym bag? (like luggage big) or maybe since it´s going to flop down a little is going to look smaller ?
      Thank you so much again for all your kindness and for sharing your wisdom with all us, from all the review videos out there this is the best and so classy !
      Hugs from Italy

    • @rockededge8244
      @rockededge8244  6 лет назад +1

      @Leo On the Go - Hello! Sorry for the late response!
      Your English is great, don't worry! :)
      You are right, there are great "technical" brand choices for luggage on wheels. The Keepall 45 is a very spacious duffle - in my humble opinion and if you can pack it right, it can hold a lot of things. The same goes with the Keepall 55.
      The Keepall 55 is a big duffle bag and in my humble opinion if it is packed 70% it will still be light and will not look too big. The secret is, again to pack it right where the contents are distributed evenly and nicely inside so the bag looks full but it is not packed to the brim and extremely heavy. Once you carry it on your shoulder with the strap, the Keepall should look good rather than if it's too empty or lightly packed.... the sides will cave in as the weight will move towards the center. Hope this helps?
      You can start with the Keepall 55 then you can add the 45 size in your collection for lighter trips and other uses.
      Let me know if you have any further questions. Best wishes and let me know when you actually buy one! I want to hear all about it!
      Buona giornata! Buon weekend! :) Rock Your World! xoxoxoxo RE

      I´m very good at packing ;) I even have a video on my channel (I use RUclips channel just for showing my kid growing up to family oversea, but I made a packing video since I love packing hahaha) I´ve been travelling a lot the last 13 years, so I think I can get the 55 at 70% ... wow, this has been so useful! thank you SO much! I hope this christmas I can be able to leave the kid with my husband so I can go to Milano and get my Keepall 55 ! I think your advice in having extra space in case it´s necesary is so wise. Thank you very very very much! As soon as I get my new LV I will totally come back and tell you.

    • @rockededge8244
      @rockededge8244  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Fletcher - thanks for watching and commenting. You can buy a strap separately at LV stores or online (although I haven't checked lately). Usually Keepals come with shoulder straps but if you need an extra one or a different one - I guess best to visit an LV store. Apologies, don't know how much a strap costs. All the best,

    I recently bought a vintage Boston 45 bandouliere that was 30 years old, it was a fantastic purchase, I had to give it a little TLC but the vachetta came up a treat, I used it for a 4 day trip to Paris and it was perfect, my 2016 Best Buy that my partner is very envious of, I'm looking for a vintage 55 for him now. 👍👍👍👍 you can view it on my IG acc ccluvslv

    I am in the market for getting a 55 in damier graphite. As you are mentioning, if the bag is stuffed and heavy it will pull at the points that support the weight via the handles and strap, which could potentially cause an issue needing repair. My biggest issue is I don't want to buy one and totally baby it. Also I can't decide between a 45 and a 55.

    • @rockededge8244
      @rockededge8244  7 лет назад +6

      Hello Double M,
      Thank you for watching and commenting.
      1. Regarding size:
      Choosing between 45 and 55 depends on what you need the Keepall for. Is it for travelling, long or short-haul? Is it for everyday use? The 45 is suited more as a gym bag and weekend (short-haul) trips. The 55 is the perfect size in my opinion (not too small not too big) as having that extra space is always a bonus. I recommend the 55 Keepall as it's very versatile and can be used for long and short trips (the secret is how you pack and you can fit a lot)!
      2. Regarding upkeep:
      LV is known for their excellent craftsmanship and quality of materials. The Keepall will not break that easily. You do not need to baby it at all - although that does not mean you should abuse it either. Logical use is what I am referring to - and your Keepall will remain loyal to you for years to come. I recommend you buy one with a shoulder strap (bandouliere) so you can alternate between the handles and the strap when you need. If you pack the Keepall well, the weight of the contents would/should be distributed equally inside and you should not have a problem with any pulling.
      Buying a second-hand Keepall: inspect carefully the handles, the material and the condition of the bag before you buy. And try to ensure you can get a copy of the receipt of purchase from the owner/store. In the eventuality something happens with use, you are able to take it to LV for repair. My recommendation is (if you can) to go for a brand new one - however, there are excellent pre-loved Keepalls in the market that would be great purchases! Just ensure you buy from an authorised second-hand/consignment website or trusted individual seller.
      Hope the above helped! Let me know if you have any other questions!
      Rock Your World! ... with a Keepall!

      Thanks for the thoughtful response. I have a friend who works at LV who has been telling me to get the 55 as well and don't look back. I always felt that the 55 due to having more canvas to leather support ratio would stretch the canvas and look weird if not substantially packed. I am going to be getting a new one for my first one. Hopefully today :)

      Funny story... Got the Damier Graphite and enjoyed it. However I have decided to sell it because I want the Monogram Macassar. This is because I recently purchased and returned a Michael in Damier Graphite as well, and realized that having Louis Vuitton bags all in the same pattern is very boring... so I decided from now on I am diversifying my bags from now on (my first bag is an Icare).
