I have been wearing this watch for 2.5 years or so. 3 software updates gives it an easier feel. I like that you can just about get any watch face you want most are free. The only downside I have is the battery life which is about a day for me.
This video convinced me to wanna buy it. I also think the SOS trick is excellent. Must give fathers a great extra reason to give this as gift to their sons or daughters.

Samsung should make their smartwatches compatible with S Pen and an app to do tiny pictures.. could be fun. And the health nudges should have an option for random times to keep you on your toes and stop you getting bored of the option.

You have to be connected to Your phone through Bluetooth. So, this is just a gear, not a complete device in itself.
u can only leave ur phone behind if the watch is connected to ur phone plan which would include a separate phone line and additional cost. However u can use it as a stand alone to make and receive calls as long as ur phone is nearby.
You can connect them both to wifi

+Danish Sohail its worth it.... Specially if you r lookingbfor fitness features as well and slick look. Also it has huge collection of watch faces if you use it with a Samsung phone. Battery life is excellent as well. The thing is water proof and is not affected anyway... Takes bangs and scratches pretty well too.... Going to get bixby in future too.... Last time I checked it was retailing for around 30000 PKR.

Is there a way to locate the gear on a map? I think it would be handy if you lost it to check its location not just send an alarm. Since it has a GPS, an app can easily do that

Its worth buying. Not sure when Gear S4 will come out. Till then, this is one of the best smartwatch you can get to use with an android phone.

dont get me wrong, i hate the gear s3 and LOVE IT. i feel its the best watch out there right now. but the touch sensitivity he used w the glove lol only worked 2 times and he swiped like 10 times

Thanks for the helpful video. I bought one because I like the different faces you can have and the way it operates is cool. However I am very disappointed with the heart rate monitor inaccuracy - that and the fact that I have an iPhone (which works fine with the Gear S3 except that my Discovery Vitality gym app won't sync with a Samsung product used with an iPhone), makes the watch basically useless as far as its sports watch aspect is concerned.
Just change to samsung

+Quartz Nation If ur watch is connected to ur phone via Bluetooth, you can make and receive calls. Sms functionality is however on restricted to Samsung devices.

I still wish I could run android wear on it. . . or I should say I would consider it if it ran android wear.
RIght now maybe, things will change with android wear 2.0 though. Android wear will continuasly be developed. Samsung will develope new shit... for their new watches. I am not a fan of samsung's apple like ecosystem they are trying to create.

I wish I could use a voice command to do a simple web search. That feel so natural, it's a shame it doesn't actually work. Also my old Gear S allowed me to use Swype for typing and I dearly miss that. It was surprisingly good considering the size of the screen. I wouldn't say it can do everything.
swipe is coming in android wear 2.0. I agree that there needs to be built in browser support (not just a little info and having to pull out your phone in most cases)
