    Thank you for presenting this. Was wonderful to see Bill Monroe play up close & some of it slow enough to pick up some technique.
    And it was terrific to see John Hartford (the interviewer) again. He was such a great musician, song writer, comedian (wrote for the Smothers Brothers t.v. program), all around good guy. I miss him. He also wrote the introduction to Dennis White's CD, "Elbow Room". Dennis was the president of the Montana Mandolin Society. Dennis could play a properly strung barbwire fence! If you've not heard that album, you are living beneath your privilege.

    I do love this tape, and learned a lot from it, but it makes me laugh how hard John Hartford is trying to politely squeeze information out of Bill.
    John Hartford: Mr. Monroe, could you play that again, real slow?
    Monroe: Sure ::Plays it exactly the same speed as before::
    Hartford: ...
