$200 for an AC filter is the most insane thing I have ever seen. You can buy a pack of 3 for like $12.
they forgot to mention, the filter actually controls your lights, makes your coffee, and pays your taxes. It immediately stops doing these things without notice when it needs to be changed, but I mean it's new tech
And the fact that the unit itself should tell when to change filters based on duration of use. I know my ventilation system does this absolutely fine and I get the cheap filters every single time.
But how would you know when to change them then? 🤔

Google, the company he left to make this, already has a system to track when you should change your air filter too. It’s right in the google home app. Wild that he thought this was a good idea.

@@hei7846 Lorrie seems to care about the stuff she invests in, and have the best instincts amongst the sharks. Mark is more of a high-risk, high-return investor. Of course Mark is a legit juggernaut in what he does, but I'd rather deal with Lorrie as a partner (from what I've gather from the show)

Yeah, the show is mostly just a publicity stunt for Mark. And as much as people make fun of Barbara, the ones she invested in, many of them are actually doing solid.
Barbara was actually on the DrMike podcast, and she talked about how Mark Cuban has this uncanny ability to cut straight through the bullshit of a pitch and yet the companies he invests in always end up becoming duds.

I feel like the air filter should be targeted to commercial buildings over any residential. It makes more sense to be used there and you have alot more room to spout bs or work your way into enviromental design standards.

Sharks wanting to do business with someone that would impulsively essentially be bullied into taking a deal without hearing all offers is so stupid. Rather than wanting a partner who feels like its the right fit and making the best offer they want you to on the spot take their deal. It almost cant be taken as a serious offer.

Nah I think the girl believing in her product, wanting to hear all the offers because even what she asked for was really on the low end, and then walking out with a thank you. Is so much better, on principle, than taking the deal just to cancel it. She already has the multi million dollar business.
i mean yea, there are multiple times on the show where sharks are saying "pick me now or i'm out", and others when they say "i won't be mad if you listen to other offers". she basically got unlucky with robert but it doesn't really matter because she's just there for advertisement anyways. but i do respect her for taking the gamble and not just saying yes and then pulling the rug later
Shark tank negotiations are so dumb sometimes. Why would you a business partner that gives you ultimatums? "Say yes now or I'm out." You'll never know when the next time is that they'll try to strong arm you or pressure you into doing what they want.
How is that starting off on the right foot with each other as business partners? Honestly the whole concept is a bit dumb, unless you're desperate it seems foolish to accept a Sharks offer most of the time. The literal title of the show paints them as investors who exploit other people for their own profit. That's how they're a good shark.
Sometimes they'll do some stuff that's more charitable and I don't really count those ones... but like... a lot of these companies could get more money elsewhere. They may not get the "guidance" but you can hire people more qualified than the sharks to help run the business.

Also where best to measure air quality than at the point of filtration. What you’d really want is to get a deal with construction companies to put them in new homes

The international/wealthy immigrant student thing is completely true. I live in am apartment complex that is close to a college campus and 2 of my 3 neighbors are international and they are never at their apartment. On some weekends they will stay in them because they are walking distance from the bars. I might see or hear them twice a month. Their parents rent them apartments while they live at home most of the time. It is kind of crazy. My parents started charging me rent at 16 when I got my first job. It was $50 but thats besides the point.
