    Your humour and attitude are a big part of your videos, it's not just the work that makes the content. Nice update, thanks.

    When I got my Amberley Blue with white roof EH wagon in the late 70s (for $450) the only rust in it were the floor pans which were really bad. Thankfully the father of a friend from school had a panel beating business and replaced them with new ones for $180, even painted them with some rust protection stuff. Best car I ever had. Mine had a 161 from an HR and three on the tree.

    They are probably still using the original floor pan dies that have been used for decades and are getting worn.

  • @erroneouscode

    I put floor pans in a HQ one tonner a few years ago using Rare Spares parts and they do exactly the same arse about fold along the inner sill section on them too. The perfectionist in me was annoyed so I had chop it about and put it in the way the factory did it. I know the parts are not perfect reproductions but I wish they would stop taking liberties and make them as close to original as possible. The cars the floor pans are going into are worth considerably more than when these reproduction parts were first made available and it's time they took quality and conformity to original spec up a notch.

    Graham I have to fill in a sunroof on an xc.....would you do it the cut tack cut tack method as you have down on the EJ floor or use another method. I have a cutout from another roof so it is same contour etc but just not 100% sure i should use the the cut tack way or not. cheers

    • @xacoupeguy
      @xacoupeguy 2 года назад +2

      oh sunroof hole i feel your pain thats gonna be about as fun as being hit in the crouch with a brick the cut and tack method is a good one just remember when welding it start at one side and work your way around cos every tack weld will pull the steel together so time and patience will be your friend
