@@mikeuk666 This. I often go to the track to take photos and I always have to up the saturation in post. Lots of racing happens in the 10am-4pm window and on a clear day that means flat lighting and washed out colors.
IDK if it's just me, but just looking at these games side by side, the new looks worse to my eye. And when I played it, it felt worse too, and sounded like crap. What am I missing?
Man, the ray tracing downgrade and those 360p muddy blurry track textures are super disappointing, but I guess everything else still looks pretty good.
EVERYTHING is build from the ground !!! Euhjm no... For some reason It just doesnt look like a step up from forza 7... I miss FM 2 goddamn what a game that was :)
Same, there were so many points in the video where I thought 7 looked better (in fact at the start of the video I thought for some reason the new game was being shown on the left! It would help if they’d just called it Forza 8 instead of dropping the number).
I feel like FM7 wheels look better detailed. I mean the Mercedes wheels in FM7 material looks like metal, or aluminum, while the wheels in the new Forza looks plastic hubcap like.
The track details are a lot better in Forza Motorsport. The trees aren’t flat which is a huge step up and the environment just looks a lot better overall. But the cars just look so much more bland, they aren’t shiny, the sun doesn’t reflect on them as much as Motorsport 7. The brake lights don’t have that crisp gleam in the dark. It’s weird because the car lighting and reflections have always been one of forza’s strongest points. But it’s severely lacking in the new game. All the lighting seems to really lack contrast. The shadows seem so light, all the colours seem really flat. The way they talked about this game pre release seemed to suggest it would be absolutely beautiful visually. I am sad that it hasn’t lived up to that
This gen does not seem to start. Only a few games really look "next gen". Maybe Rockstar or Naughty Dog can fully utilize the power of the new machines
@@lawyerlawyer1215 The new consoles are much more powerful, it's just that all the power has been used to reach better resolutions. With 4k being targeted more often, less resources are available to make the dramatic improvements we all want. Since 8k games are probably not the way forward, I guess it'll be the next generation of consoles that deliver the real uplift we've been waiting for. Sucks that it'll be 15 years between the dramatic uplift (beginning of X1 era to the beginning of the next era).
RUclips videos don't do this game justice. Playing on a 75" OLED the game looks absolutely insane! The lighting is generations ahead of FM7. More imporantly is the driving model which is the best I've experienced and I play alot of sim racers.. It's simply on another level.
Pretty sure no such thing as a 75” Oled as they don’t come in that size? Also plenty of videos online that show whether something looks good or not and this Forza looks extremely MID
@@tears2040 I meant 77". there is a bug in the game that causes the gamma and black levels to be messed up currently if you touch the settings you need to reboot the pc and clear the shaders (sucks) Turn10 is working on the patch and it will be ready for the official launch.
Yeah i dont see it... 7 looks better in nearly every way, aside from maybe the flat trees and spectators.
2023 looks so desaturated it's almost sad to watch.
That's what real life lighting looks like though
@@mikeuk666 I don't know about you mate but real life definitely doesn't look like that, especially during a sunny day.

I'd like to see a DF comparison between Motorsport and Horizon 5. I think Horizon has more appealing visuals.
Track texture is so low on Series X...

yea cool story, got my refund on 23 and re-downloading 7 NOW!!!
Man, the ray tracing downgrade and those 360p muddy blurry track textures are super disappointing, but I guess everything else still looks pretty good.
5:08 looks like they had to downgrade to a simpler fence with less geometry here too. Probably to compensate for the 3D trees.
There are also 2D trees in this shot on FM23's side as well.
I don't understand what took them so many years. Trees, cabin and sky are better, yes, but that's all, nothing next-gen-like
Most of the differences are not visual
@@kyus1974 because they're things that have been deleted from FM7
@@rainey06au unlike fm7, this one is worth playing
Ah, a philosopher. Love it. They spent most of the money not on foliage and lighting, but on driving.

at first I thought 7 is the new one

I've noticed that aliasing is a problem again, they've taken a step back in that regard.
It has better anti-aliasing than FH5, but the graphics are still much better in FH5.
I feel like FM7 wheels look better detailed. I mean the Mercedes wheels in FM7 material looks like metal, or aluminum, while the wheels in the new Forza looks plastic hubcap like.
The older game CLEARLY looks more attractive doesn't it???
In some ways. Others, like the lack of any raytracing, it’s clearly behind.
But FM23 looks more realistic. Also FM7 has plenty of moments thay don't look as good as this.
What it's CLEAR id that you Need a pair of glass!!
No ut doesn't
I thought the new Forza was on the left half of the video...
3:40 c'mon though, and they are hovering above the seating. I'll take the cardboard crowd with the normal maps any day..
Forza 7 looks better upon first glance…….. Definitely not impressed with this new game

Another great video Oli, keep up the great work. I cant wait for this on the 10th, i have always loved the Forza games.
The car details look better on the 7
Road textures too

Aren’t powerful , whenever a game tries to “use their power” it’s an unstable 30fps experience

They are no more powerful than a low end PC.
it's still 2D! 0:42
GT7 cross gen effortlessly beats the Next gen Forza...Once again, Microsoft studios disappoints. They must've lost all their talent. It's sad.

Another dud from MS. Starfield is a flop and Forza is also a flop.
Thank you Sony employee 🙏

Starfield may have some issues, but I'm loving it tbh 💪🏻
