Severe Torture is one of the best death metal bands to come of the Netherlands. They are a brutal death metal band that has a huge sense of groove and some melody and are easily influenced by the Barnes era of Cannibal Corpse as well as Suffocation. Feasting on Blood and Misanthropic Carnage are great albums and Fall of the Despised and Sworn Vengeance were okay follow ups but fell a bit on the melodic side. Slaughtered though was an amazing comeback. Since then, there hasn't been that much activity though in 2022 they came out with great EP Fisting the Sockets. Now after 14 years, this new album is absolutely amazing. Tons of brutality to be found with lots of groove. In a year of comeback albums, it's great that Severe Torture came back strong as ever.
Necrotic Nick- Agreed. I've been a fan since probably the debut and I instantly latched on to their sound. Being very influenced by Cannibal Corpse and Suffocation put this band pretty much right in my wheelhouse from the rip.

Great Review yet again guys! Question...how are Shredlord and Miller doing? Haven't seen them in videos for awhile now are they still part of Thralls? Just curious.

I became aware of Severe Torture when I saw John Gallagher from Dying Fetus wearing their shirt and this is a great comeback record!!!
Necrotic Nick- John is clearly a man of exquisite tastes lol. Yeah, this was vicious as hell. Not a punch pulled death metal.
I ordered the CD direct from Season Of Mist and they included a free digital download of the previous EP.
Necrotic Nick- Nice! That EP rips and I like that every track on it is exclusive to that EP. I'm gonna order this one here soon for sure.
Btw, the dutch guy who mixed and mastered this album was the guitarist for Aborted for a few albums. The guy is a beast
