The guaranteed starting players for England: Kane, Saka, Rice, Bellingham, Maguire and Pickford. If it's a very big match and not a test match or friendly where the gaffer is just trying things, these are the players that will 100% start, plus maybe Walker.
Question about this is, are you using the same system as Southgate? Because it’s all well and good saying Maguire works in Southgate’s England setup, but if you play a different more expansive style, would he still work?
two things England don't want to do is take players who have missed lots of games this season due to injury but might come back for the last game or two of the season ,not taking players who get a few minutes now and again for there clubs
Ivan Toney has to go as a back up for Kane. He's the next best finisher, he creates, excelent free kick taker and hes been well rested for half a season. Easily the next best striker in my opinion.
@@joethomlinson_ Also if you wanted another England video idea - players are always getting injured close to the world cup and some positions see a real fall off in quality or require a really different player who is the "Next Best" in that position. It would be really interesting doing a "next best" England Squad looking at who would step in should the starters get injured. IE. Stones is great and will surely start but who is the next best (Looking at who's stats and player position/ profile most closely resembles the player)? who is next in line for Saka, Bellingham or Kane (hint it's Ivan Toney 😉) 1st names on the team sheet but what if it all goes wrong?
So he only picks one natural left-back that is currently injured and has a horrid injury record to match. My squad would literally be what James Lawrence Allcott's would be. Chilwell and Colwill in for depth, quality in natural positions. Grealish in for Gordon as well for the extra experience, ability to always win a foul and has more versatility in the final third.
I like it, I think you can afford to get rid of a cb tho as all three of white, Walker and Gomez can in some way play there. Gordon and rashford both get in for me or even grealish instead of one of them. Maybe tripps over Gomez/white too. As much as I hate southgate picking his favourites, experience of being a key feature at tournaments has to come into play, this is emphasised even more if players like henderson and Sterling aren’t gonna be there.
@@matthias2756 His form is picking up and he is the kind of player that when he is in form, he becomes unstoppable. Not taking him would be idiotic. There isn't a better right footed winger in England squad than him. Not to mention his excellent big game record and his England record.

@@jhaych he offers nothing to the team other than his pace and streaky form in front of goal. He’s fine if all you’re looking to do is park the bus and hit on the occasional counter but his lack of versatility is exactly why United can’t play any other style. He’s mediocre at best at progressing the ball (both passes and carries), he struggles with ball retention, offers next to nothing defensively (for a team that is constantly defending too), has basically half the creative output of Englands other forward options, and to top it all off his per 90 G+A-PK and npxG+xAG are horrific this season. People are out here complaining that Grealish is having a terrible season but at least he puts up over 0.5 G+A-PK and npxG+xAG per 90; Rashfords at 0.32 and 0.35 respectively

Don't say I don't spoil ya
Gk : pickford ramsdale Johnstone
Def: walker stones shaw Braithwaite maguire gomez trippier
Mid: trent rice mainoo curtis jones bellingham maddison
Att: kane foden saka watkins gordon palmer rashford
Bowen only missed out because we have so many players thay can play on the right it was between him and palmer
Euros 23 man squad: Pickford, Pope, Ramsdale, Shaw, Trippier/Chilwell, Maguire, Colwill/Branthwaite, Stones, Guehi/Gomez, Walker | Rice, Mainoo, Gallagher TAA, Bellingham, Maddison | Foden, Rashford, Kane, Saka, Grealish/Bowen, Watkins, Palmer🔥
The guaranteed starting players for England: Kane, Saka, Rice, Bellingham, Maguire and Pickford. If it's a very big match and not a test match or friendly where the gaffer is just trying things, these are the players that will 100% start, plus maybe Walker.
Guéhi is comfortably clear of Tomori.
I never see Jason Steele looked at for England. The best with the ball at his feet and is very competent as shot stopping
Very interesting shout!
Question about this is, are you using the same system as Southgate? Because it’s all well and good saying Maguire works in Southgate’s England setup, but if you play a different more expansive style, would he still work?
I don't think it would be much different tbh, maybe a bit more ball retention. But we proved at the WC we could smack teams about.
I feel bad for Foden man... In the genuine conversation for PL POTY and its still not enough to get off the wing for England.
two things England don't want to do is take players who have missed lots of games this season due to injury but might come back for the last game or two of the season ,not taking players who get a few minutes now and again for there clubs
Rashford 100% goes. Proven for England and coming into form. Current 2nd top scorer of this current camp, he will go. Southgate loves him
My 23 man squad:
Pickford, Ramsdale, Trafford
Walker, Trent, Shaw, Stones, Maguire, Branthwaite, Gomez, Guehi
Rice, Bellingham, Mainoo, Maddison, Jones
Foden, Saka, Palmer, Kane, Watkins, Bowen, Rashford
As a Burnley fan, Trafford is the worst keeper in the league
This guy is definitely a Man U fan right
Ming’s started pretty much the entirety of the group stage at Euro 2020 instead of Maguire who was injured…
Mainoo over Jones is crazy
I just think he’s more of a 6 and Jones more of an 8.
I agree but Mainoo can play as an 8 as well@@joethomlinson_
lol no it ain't
Oh wow. I don't have to follow u on tiktok anymore 😂😂. Great content
Welcome!
Ivan Toney has to go as a back up for Kane. He's the next best finisher, he creates, excelent free kick taker and hes been well rested for half a season. Easily the next best striker in my opinion.
Is he better than Watkins? I’m not sure.
@@joethomlinson_ needs a video 😉
Southgate top 24 players selection.
1-King Maguire 👑
2-king Maguire 👑
17-Jordan Henderson
18- Marcos Rashfod
.....
24 - king Maguire 👑
Would be amazing if you'd collaborate with the old fd boys like zac pat and henry
As a french your list is pretty impressive but I hope we gonna beat you again good luck 😄
23 Players - Pickford Ramsdale Pope Walker Trent Shaw Chilwell Stones Maguire Brathwaite Gomez Bellingham Rice Mainoo Maddison Ward-Prowse Foden Saka Gordon Toney Rashford Kane Watkins
Hasnt tomori been injured for much this season? How is he getting in over konsa?
For the reasons I explained haha!
1st Choice
Pickford
Walker Stones Brainthwaite Shaw
Trent Rice
Saka Jude Foden
Kane
2nd choice
Ramsdale
Trippier Konsa Gomez Chilwell
Mainoo Jones
Gordon Palmer Rashford
Watkins
I agree with most of this, but id swap Trippier for White and Grealish for Palmer
Was Gibbs-white in this or did I miss something?
Think he wasn’t included because he’s a bit shite 👍
Buzzing to have you back Joe 🙌
YESSS JOEEEEE, WELCOME BACK!!!🙌🐐
Helllllooooooo from the other side!!!
I think I probably do have 1 too many CBs!
Taking Rashford is insane
Not really, he's performed for England, is hitting some form and is versatile
@@jhaych hitting form? He’s having his worst season since he was 18 😂
@@matthias2756 His form is picking up and he is the kind of player that when he is in form, he becomes unstoppable. Not taking him would be idiotic. There isn't a better right footed winger in England squad than him. Not to mention his excellent big game record and his England record.
@@matthias2756 I think he is a solid option off the bench if your down or agaisnt a posession dominant side. He is so fast so direct and offers something other players don't have. There is also sterling but I'd argue he's been way worse than rashford
Should do more long form content I really like it
HE’S BACKKKKK
Name a better combo than Joe and a Tier List. I'll wait...
Was about to kick off about Gomez beacuse for whatever reason, I couldn't see his picture at the bottom🤦♂️😆. Maybe I just didn't recognise him in a England kit because it's been years since that last happened
