I have not follow up with Teche 180 but I assume Teche as it is bigger sensor. Calf 180 is a super underratted camera tho and it can complete with Canon. So touch choice. I need to follow up review Teche as Canon and Calf is mostly what I used these days.
@@83442handle Yup. Keep in mind that’s a 12k sensor on that and provided the optical design covers a lot of the sensor read out in square aspect ratio it’s a massive jump up from a typical 360 cam image wise. Hello Hugh Hou and Kimchi! While researching this topic, I've come to ask you a question! 1. I'm considering one of these three VR cameras for data acquisition through live streaming: KANDAO, TECHE, and CALF. Which one has the shortest latency? 2. I've found that KANDAO requires a PC for processing the video. Can TECHE and CALF do VR180 (3D) live streaming with just a camera and an internet connection, without needing a PC? 3. Is there a difference in delay (latency) between different live streaming platforms? Overall, which one has the shortest delay? Your answer will be a great help for my research. Also, making such comparison videos has been very helpful. I've subscribed and liked your videos. Thank you!
1. Kandao - TECHE is also really good. CALF is slower than both. 2. Both TECHE and CALF can go live without a PC. Kandao is more a professional camera so you will need PC setup. But the external audio is a lot better solution for like podcast in VR.
There's a very important advantage to the Canon setup- since it uses only 1 big sensor, we don't have to worry about synchronization, either with colors or with streaming 2 sources (no need for Genlock)
Yes. But I believe Kandao here is also Genlock frame sync. Only color will be different or exporuce is different as it is 2 diferent sensor and 2 different lens
Hi friends what is the easiest way for me to trim off (shoeten) 2 minutes off of my gopro .360 file while also preserving it in .360 format? So embarrassing but I took a perfect 360 video but walked around in my underwear at the end haha!
You can just render out and cut the in Premiere and render the final video for upload. There is no way to edit .360 file until you transcode it into format other software can read
@hughhou thanks again Hugh. You aren't going to believe this but I just found a trim feature right in GoPro Viewer for PC. I wonder if they also have this on the Mac version. This allows me to preserve the .360 format and upload right back to the GoPro plus unlimited upload cloud. Have a great night.
@@hughhou Yeah thought so.. just curious as to how to make 3D 180 (stills) into 3D 360 models to use with 3DVista's new features.. thought to maybe put this on a pano head and let the PC create depth map..through photogrammetry or NeRF and export
What PC can create depth map from stereo image. And how do you created depth map from point cloud (NeRF) - do share I am working on that workflow as well but not so successful
Can someone help me out? I am thinking to buy either Teche VR180 camera or Kandao VR Cam to film some travel scenes or special events, which one is a better camera for this purpose? Thank you!!
@@hughhou Really? Thanks for the info, Hugh.🙂 I was so ready to buy it, I guess I’ll keep an eye on your channel for the latest news. Hopefully, it will come out this year. 🙂
I did properly focus on Canon based on the chart. Canon does look softer than both Teche and Kandao. But as I mentioned in this video, it is by design! Canon R5C when shooting in RAW will not add sharpening in the image. Overly sharpen is actually not an ideal result. People will argue a SONY is way sharper than an ARRI - but is that mean ARRI image is bad? Not necessary.
I always use 1/25s at 8K25p 8Bit with the R5, each with ND16 or ND32. I did a lot of tests to then interpolate to 50p. Post process complete 10Bit Y420. The stroboscopic effect can only be corrected well at 1/25s. For e.g. a person recording (dancers in front of the camera) I would go to 1/50s at 8K25p. Then the headset needs to smooth out at 90 or 120Hz.
@@hughhou In Resolve I use the project setting "enhanced optical flow faster" small or medium for a 50p project. But there are calculation errors. Topaz video is too slow for me on the RTX3090 with 0.8 fps. Because you sharpen the R5c with Resolve: In Resolve 18.6 there is "Nvidia superscale" in the clip settings. The simple 2x with medium sharpness and small noise reduction (affects edges) works well. I sharpen the R5 with Magix ProX15. In DeoVR is my channel "HuebiVR". all is R5 1/25s HEVC 8Bit 25p with Resolve optical flow to 50 and in "Schloessernacht Dresden 2023" you see the interpolation errors.
May I ask if the progressive scanning of the photosensitive chip is in the same direction? And what is the specification of inserting the memory card for video recording? Thanks!!
The memory card right now is only for firmware update. TF Card is not fast enough to store the high quality recording. So it is recording via the ethernet cable into the computer SSD drive. No storage solution internal yet

I have the Canon and the video compressor is hot garbage and always gives blurry video. You should _ONLY_ ever use canon with raw video to get a sharp image. It's an amazing camera once you know to use that.
Thanks for the confirmation! Surprised it still looks so soft (in comparison). I use rawLT for everything as well. In tests I've found the only place where there is difference to rawST is some color bleeding with extreme high contrast and thin high contrast things. Difference is invisible in normal use but might show up in some thin high contrast test patterns.

Have you got a update on Kandao vr cam do you think it quality got better over the time for professional recording for Apple Vision Pro
No update. It’s not bad quality but can’t compare to Canon or all the newer cameras. It’s the only direct livestream camera tho on TikTok
