I will always come to listen to your mixes. I love that you did a song from every game! It's so cool to still see people loving Jak and Daxter either from your mixes or the awesome PC port.
What a blessing, you're crazy talented bro! Since i discovered your J&D lofi beats some months ago, they've become one of my most listened songs, glad i can add some more to the collection now :)
Thank you! I hope you are doing well too, I’m about ready to head home from work and relax so it all gets better from here! Sending good vibes your way ✌️
Unfortunately, they are not. I've looked into it and spoken with my distribution guy for some of my other projects, and it sounds like we would have a hard time dealing with licensing issues, I have been uploading them for free on soundcloud though! You can download them from there if you click on the "more" tab and go down to "download" feel free to do so! Here is the link to the page: soundcloud.com/caleb-jones-483827915? I apologize the newest batch are not up there yet, I will upload them soon. Thanks!
This sounds amazing! How do you make this? Are you creating these tracks from scratch, or reusing/sampling instruments from the original game's music tracks? Either way, it sounds so good!
Thank you! Some of them are from scratch, some of them are remixes using the original midi files, and some are a mix of sampling and my own instruments. Like for the Sentinel Beach mix in this video -- a reddit user named u/evolvoray pulled the midi files and instruments from the original game. I pulled those into Ableton live and used them to make the remix. But the Race with Errol/Haven Forest mix is built from scratch with exception of the drum beat which is sampled from the Race with Errol track in Jak 2. Jak 2 and 3 weren't built with midi the same way the first game was, so you almost always have to rebuild some of it from scratch. The Spargus Arena track is all from scratch I spent some time just listening to the original and trying to pull melodies from it, while also making my own thing. The Jak X mix is the same way. Those tracks go super hard to begin with, so I really just tried to have some fun with them and use them as a fun exercise to practice and see what I could make. The Lost Frontier mix is just a play on the Voices of Auropa track which I though had a super cool string section. And of course the dialogue and SFX bites are pulled from the games! TLDR -- some of them use samples/midi info from the original game (mostly the first J&D) and the rest are built from scratch using the games' melodies for inspiration.
