As an old skool, funky hip-hop junky since 1978, I've witnessed as a DJ, the full evolution of this music genre from 70s til present day September 2022. I can honestly say Lil Wayne is definitely not only the greatest rapper alive, but the greatest rapper ever. I used think it was LL. Cool J. If you disagree look at his lyrical history and longevity. From The history of 99 til the 2000s The Hot Boys until today. Wayne has consistently spit waaay more hot verses than Tupac or Biggie. Just look at the volume and quality of his lyrical verses. The Carter albums! Plus all the features he's done over 20 years. He's drop verses to where you say "How did he even conceive or think of that coreallation ? " Plus, not only make it rhyme, and make sense also understand it. Without a doubt Lil Wayne is the Greatest rapper of all time. And he's still guest featured on new rappers songs. Once he's gone rap lovers will look back at his history of work and truly appreciate him as the greatest rapper EVER.
@@npholmes09 the words themselves may be simple, but the way he arranges it, not talking flow, bc it’s a simple flow, but the fact he put that conversation into a song, no one is as smooth as Wayne when it comes to verses, fuck a LL Cool J
My little sister and I would drive around and play just Wayne’s part screaming it at each other, she passed away this year, and I’d give anything to listen to it with her one more time.
This song brings back memories of me and my brother battling seeing who will get every lyric right and we kept rewinding it over and over til we get it😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Queen Hearts for nothing, back from the 80s, piano trap, blue blazing, basically listen the d6 reloaded and he recently re-released sorry for the wait with new songs on it....most definitely check out those I mentioned tho
This song is so palpable, like you could really feel the pain from both artists, that part where it goes "My Heart Is Crying" at the end as it fades out is all the hurt being released into the void, it brings me great happiness and I can't help but cry from the memories. Edit: Damn, Wayne killed that shit. Most poignant verse he ever wrote besides the last verse on Let It All Work Out. That bar where he said, "Girl, we grown, And if he ain't gonna treat you right, then I ain't gonna treat you wrong," is very lighthearted in delivery, but the message is serious and holds weight. His ability to be witty and sardonic but still captivate the listener through genius wordplay interweaved in conversational storytelling is one of a kind.
