Put his meds in a easy open pill container like 7-Day week one. That way he can do that simple task his self. Just stuff like that would probably help a lot. Good luck on the healing Journey though❤ a broken arm I'm sure it's very tough to deal with, especially if it's your dominant one

Exactly. Or open up the bottles and put them on a high shelf in a cabinet. Toddlers wouldn't be able to reach. Better than waking her up in the middle of the night all the time just to take a pill.

It’s always people not in a relationship or can’t/ not interested in being in a fully committed relationship with kids and married that has something to say 😂 what work for you may not work for other people. And what you deem as wrong may not be deemed as wrong in someone’s else relationship.

That had happened to me on my left ankle when I broke it in early March 2012 from a car accident. My left leg was in a splint cast for 2 weeks. I was in a fiberglass cast for 4 weeks. The boot cast for a little bit over 2 months. I was wearing the boot cast off and on during July 2012. I know what is liked to have a broken bone.

Here are my tips and tricks, for medical issues, when at home.
-For medication, get arthritis caps. If he is taking over the counter medication, most child proof caps pop off. Ask your local pharmacy, it takes less than 30 seconds.
-Because of your young children, keep all his medications away from them obviously. The belt bag/fanny pack he’s, currently using is great.
    - Showering. You can buy a cast cover. However, if this is short term, meaning less than 6-8 weeks, here is what I have done. Take a cotton tea towel, tuck the top edges into the cast edge. Then take a bigger towel, like a hand towel, for the second layer. Repeat the towel process, with smaller towels, around the hand opening. After that, wrap the entire thing with AT LEAST Two(2️⃣) layer of Glad’s Press & Seal. There should be 1.5-2” over hang, on both the hand and upper at part. DO NOT use cling film. Make sure the skin around the openings are clean and dry. The take waterproof(it’s never really waterproof, but its better than nothing) medical tape, and wrap around the edges, with at least two wraps of tape, per side. Before getting in the shower, make sure nothing is too loose or too tight. Avoid as direct water contact, as possible. For quick showers, with help from someone and a hand shower, the towels or Press & Seal can be used without any thing else, but be very careful.
-If medications are frequently forgotten, and keeping pain control is hard, set alarms or reminders. If the IPhone is your phone of choice, adding your medication, even temporarily, can help with trying to get proper medications, if needed. I have a chronic illness, that leaves me in astronomical amounts of pain, and even though I have been taking pain medications, of some sort, for over a decade, I use this method. The reminds allow a reminder, to encourage me to take a small break, assess pain, and see if I need more medication. Without reminders, there have been times where I would’ve been in more pain later, because I didn’t have something to grab my focus, and remind myself to check in.
-If he is on narcotic pain medications, make sure he’s being super careful. Driving is not recommended, for many medications. If he has a friend, that lives and works near your husband, they could ride together. Or if he can’t drive, on those medications, you could pick him up, worst case scenario.
-When I am injured, like this, I have a new medical device inserted, like a PICC line or Port, or just had surgery, if I am going to be around children, especially toddler age, I tell them I have an “ouchie”, and ask them to be careful. I am not around very many children, but I do remind them, if I see them, again. It’s not to be mean, not am I saying that they are going to hurt anyone. Sometimes reminding them can keep the healing process on track, and not needing to add more time. Weird things can happen, and a tug or jerk, could cause the break to get worse. It doesn’t happen often, but it does happen.
-His cast will start to smell, depending on time required in it, and once the smell sets in, I have a few ways to combat the smells. One, use a wet wipe or damp cloth, gently wipe the first bit of skin, making sure the cloth isn’t in too deep. For combatting smells, something like spritzing a bit of cologne or perfume, on the cast material, where the soft lining meets the hard surface. This can, also, be done using essential oils or deodorant. M
    - if he is needing a bit of extra softness, on the outside of the cast, because it’s scratching the furniture, or the kids keep scraping or banging into his cast, get some socks, new or used doesn’t matter, and wrap it around the cast, making sure it’s not too tight. This will make the cast softer, and less likely to scratch or mar something, or someone.
-Last, and this is more fun for the kids, the day or two before the cast removal, let them draw and make pictures. During the time, while in the cast, it might be problematic to have decorated the casts. However, if it’s done right before the cast removal, the kids can have fun, and have positivity associated with casts, which would make them less scared, if something were to happen to them.
I hope these help, and he has a speedy recovery’s!

Yes of course, and I’m sure that any normal person knows that, depending on their situation and the age of their children, toddlers usually don’t get up in the middle of the night and climb up on a container, I’m going by how my kids were, and I’m pretty sure most people are aware enough to make their decisions based off of what they know about their own children

I always thought that was weird too so my son broke his wrist and four different places the rest is made of tiny tiny little bones after a dirt bike accident and he had like a soft splint cast kind of like your husband for like the first two weeks or 3 weeks then they take him back to the hospital and then apply the hard cast I always thought that was weird like why wait so long but I'm sure there is a good reason of course
