This boat and most racing catamarans have an escape hatch in the bottom to crawl through...thats what they were crawling through when the boat was upside down. Some boats don't have the escape hatch -so instead the driver and throttleman have an air supply onboard. Basically scuba gear, so that they can breathe before escaping... ...and swimming out of the top canopy escape hatch
