  • This started with the Volca Modular & playing around with an old patch I was working on some months back. I ran this looping through Monsoon on the main modular set to delay mode. A gate from the Doepfer Clock Divider occasionally triggers the freeze for some nice glitches
I then used the Volca Drum to add some beats. Initially I had the drum set to 2x the speed of the Volca Modular. Once programmed, I moved this up to 3x. I split the signal and ran one through Rings to give the string effects, this then goes through the FX Aid XL which is set to a ping pong delay. The other runs into Maths which I’m using as a mixer. I combined the Volca drum with a simple Euclydian pattern from O&C which is triggering a kick and snare in the VPME.de Quad. There’s a hat in there too triggered by one half of a branched trigger. A slow LFO is modulating the sample selection of this to jump between shorter and longer hats.
I then added some notes on the FM which is set to a Rhodes setting with the Decay right down. I then added some droning bass notes on the Volca Keys. Adding the FM and Keys meant I had something to play around with live. Both these run through the H9 which is set to the spacetime delay and reverb mode.
    Mixing and EQ in Logic.
