Thank you for Amy's story. As a Woman's Army Corp and Regular Army US Veteran I will add her to my list of women to be remembered. 🤗❤️🌈🙏🕊️
Thanks For Serving Our Country!!! ❤❤❤
RIP AMY.
🙏🙏🙏🙏 My Dad was a lifer in the Army. Proud daughter ❤️❤️❤️ Many members in My family 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you for your Service ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for your service and your sacrifices. God bless you.
I nearly screamed out loud when you found that spider. I have one very similar that belonged to my Great Grandmother. I have never seen another like it. And yes I do wear it occasionally.
Cool
When I was a child my Grandmother had one like that pinned to a lampshade which I was terrified of because I thought the Spider was real.😆
Her Spider pin was a dark green.
I have a spider with a pink stone, it's flat. It belonged to my great uncle who was born in the 1860s in Iowa USA.
That's crazy how you were just talking about spiders in the rocks and here come your mother with a fake spider! That was amazing
I still can’t get enough of how that tiny airplane came to light! I had never heard of this courageous pioneer woman. Alex, your find brought her back and her story, which needed to be retold so more people would learn of Amy! The spider is a story teller in many cultures, I found its appearance was more than timely! What a great video💐
Fabulous episode Thankyou both and good luck fr more searching you do…xxxxLyn in Australia xxxx
I love it when you are able to share historical information, such as Amy’s story, related to the items you discover. It’s fascinating.
Blue bottle is Evening in Paris, i collect them. Love your show, Debbie
Yup
Have you ever seen the Evening in Paris in the blue and gold bottles it includes 4 different shaped bottles in a gold and blue fancy box. I found the set in an antique shop here in the US
I used to wear Evening in Paris when I was a teenager 60 years ago. I loved the blue bottles and bought it for the bottles.
My Grandparents would gift all of us granddaughters a bottle of Evening in Paris cologne every Christmas when I was a young child in the 1950’s. 😊
I remember buying a small bottle for my mother. Ages ago.
Wonderful finds and a wonderful historical story as well. So fitting on our American Memorial Day to honor the fallen . Thank you.
Thanks a million times for enriching our days.❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing Amy Johnson’s story!
I really love it when you tell us the names of the flowers and plants. I am so addicted to watching your videos. Keep up the awesome work. ❤
My greetings from Brussels, Belgium. I adore to hear you say " oh my goodnes" Thats finelly other than all persons yelling for God. !!! So let God bess all of your Goodnes !!
Some amazing finds you have there especially the aviation badge. I'm more the wiser knowing Amy's story and as an Australian, her solo flight out here and making history. Thank you for her story, albeit tragic in the end, but let's remember her for being a spirited, adventurous and brave woman!
I worked for over 20 years intermediately on a plane quite similar to that one there were only four known to exist, and one was in the smithstonean Institute . I love the spider and all your other fines. Thanks for a great video.🌸🌺🌼🌷🌹 these flowers are for you, Gail❤
Here on the Isle of Skye we are all too aware of midges. I empathised with you so much that I scratched my way through your thoroughly enjoyable, informative and incredibly poignant video. This one is surely memorable and thought provoking for everyone who watches it. What an incredible woman Amy must have been. Thank you so much.
On this Memorial Day in the USA, much honor and respect to Pilot Amy Johson, who died in 1941 in the service of her country, Great Britain. RIP Amy 🛫 See you on the other side. 🇬🇧🇺🇸
You really outdid yourselves with this video! In addition to the great finds, informative botany and entomology lessons, and terrific music, you shared the story (/stories!) of Amy Johnson with us, ensuring that an important pilot and woman will be remembered. Thanks so much! ❤❤ from Seattle.
PS. When you found the fork this week, I was reminded that in previous videos, you had mentioned the possibility of making a wind chime from your found tableware. When you do, please be sure to show it to us. I'd love to see it!
Wow fabulous find regarding the plane brooch I remember being taught about her at school, very brave lady!!
What a beautiful and sad story of Amy! And also what a beautiful woman she was!! ❤
Again so many great finds! Love your videos! ❤❤
As always, you ladies share such interesting bits of history along with your finds. What a tragic story about Amy. That spider brooch was cool. My husband and I get a laugh at the pudding doll showing up on the roundup. Thanks for doing what you do.
A very brave Woman . A lot like Amelia Earhart .
I was trying to think of that other ladies name..she was resurrected in the movie Night at the Museum..thanks for reminding me😮👏👋
Just what I thought when she was talking!!
Wonderful Yardleys bottle and a little Evening in Paris blue bottle. Great finds and some unusual things. Saucy little lotty finding her way around your finds again, I love her antics.
Definitely a curb chain from a bridle. Great finds all around. Thanks for the flora identification, loved it.
What fantastic treasures you unearthed, ladies. The spider brooch was creepy yet very unique and a cracking find. I loved the tiny little blue bottle and the airplane badge.
We here in the States have a saying: "If you don't like the weather in [insert your state's name here], stick around a few minutes, it'll change." We don't have midges here, but we do have mosquitoes and they like the same conditions (no wind, humidity, etc) as midges do...they'll make you want to flee inside your house to escape from them. Miserable little so and sos.
Midges are very similar to gnats.
N. Calif. here the mosquitoes bite me so bad I get large red welts that last for weeks!
@KatyWatson173 Oh, well then, we definitely have gnats, but they don't sting like midges. Hello from North Carolina!
@deloradeabel8487 When my sons were youngsters, they would welt up so badly when stung by mosquitoes that I had to put rubbing alcohol on the bites to stop the swelling. My youngest son, Andrew, is now 24 and still has problems with mosquito bites causing welts...has to use insect repellant to keep them away from him. Hi from eastern North Carolina.
We do have stinging/biting gnats in the U.S. as well. I’ve heard them called “no-see-ums”.
You could use the talc bottle for hat pins!
Great idea
I am drinking nettle tea as I watch this. Very nutritious and healing for the human body. Yum.
Wonderful finds today, thanks for braving the midges'! Love ML Charlotte and her spider riding :) Thanks so much for Amy's story, I wish that was the only time friendly fire was covered up. I hope the two of you have an awesome week!!
Such finds ! I love the spider , but what sad ending for brave Amy ! May she rest in peace 🙏🏻
Thank you for telling Amy's story. This is the first I have heard of Amy Johnson, thank you for shining a light on her life, achievements and demise for us- for keeping her memory alive. You two are fabulous, thank you for sharing your adventures and making videos.
At the time, Amy Johnson was so well known and her exploits captured peoples' hearts, that in the UK, she had several songs written about her, the best known was "Amy, wonderful Amy" The chorus goes:
Amy, wonderful Amy,
How can you blame me for loving you?
Since you won the praise of every nation,
You have filled my heart with admiration.
You can Google this, and even hear it here on RUclips.
❤
Bless you for telling Amy's story...I love your vids ..keep on making them please😍
@@silevee Thanks for sharing. I will listen to this Hero here on Oklahoma. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for identifying the flowers!
What a wonderful Blue day you had! Even Amy's story ended up blue as in sad. I so enjoy watching you two weekly.
Thank you for telling the story Amy's sad demise, there is a statue of her in Herne Bay Kent UK as it is close to one of the last sightings of her, she was 37 years old. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Amy Johnson was an amazing woman. Thank you for sharing her story and I LOVE that you found the plane. The spider is so pretty!
Thank you both for the wonderful finds as well as the research .!
Thank you for sharing these finds. History is full of brilliant women lost to history. It is wonderful that you have shared this story with us.
13:08 That looks like a shape you would find in a meerschaum pipe.
Wow what fantastic finds!!!! I love the plane pin and the history of it.
That spider is incredible. Amy Johnson was a true hero of her day, and it is very sad to hear the possible story of her death.
I have a very similar Czech rhinestone spider brooch, nice find!
As an old git,Can I suggest that you take a listen to Pentangle,I think you'll love their music.
Mudlarking is amazing in so many ways. What a wonderful and tragic piece of history about Amy. Thank you❤❤
Amazing finds a a great story!
the spider brooch could not have fallen to more befitting hands .omg, apparently popular during victorian times. well of course you probably already know. wow!!!
Yay!! ✌️🤍 that spider was such a surprise!!!!! It was definitely a “blue” day. Item colors I mean.
Definately a blue themed day, lol. 😅
Hi lovely ladies‼️ Thank you for taking us along on this epic mudlark. I so enjoyed the finds, naming the plants/flowers plus the hard work you put into researching the history. Love ya❣
amazing video I agree fantastic finds
Amazing. Both of you are great, thanks.
I’m partial to buttercup ! I love yellow !❤❤❤❤😊Favorite find is the spider and perfume bottles. ❤🎉 🦋🦋💐💐
Another fun and adventurous video from two of my favorite people ❤. Thank you for the educational bits.
Great find followed with the amazing history of Amy ..In America we also lost Amelia Earhart and suspiciion has followed her death to this day...
Everything from being eaten by cannibals to surviving to old age on a deserted island..
She most certainly died at sea when her plane flew off course & ran out of fuel..
Wonderful finds and a very tragic story. Thank you for bringing it to life!
Love spending time with you ladies!❤
The spider brooch was so cool!!!! You two always have such great finds.
Wonderful video and history lesson.
I truly hope I'm not worrying you again... I've had to subscribe once again to both channels. I noticed the others this was happening too stopped. I was surprised this morning to see you were still having this problem. It's strange the videos still appear on my feed, being that I'm no longer "subscribed" ...I check them every time and 99% of the checks are positive for unsubscribed AGAIN.
I'm not complaining, it seems to be unfair to you two and the beautiful videos you produce. I can really see the details in the editing and how much time you spend with that...the music is always beautiful as well...
Thanks for sharing and inspiring us to get out and live.
I rockhound, but now I'm picking up"bits and bobs" too
Thank you!
I love the Spider!! What a cool find!! I love your great appreciation for every big and little treasure you find. You are my Scottish kindred spirits. I also love how you show everything all clean and shiny at the end of each mudlarking. Have you ever told how you clean up different materials? You do such a beautiful job in every way and that includes cleaning up the treasures!! I love your show and you are both so loveable. Your passion is resoundingly
Inspiring. Carolyn in California
I believe that brass strip is used in upholstery to create an invisible seam without the need for tacks. Spider is amazing.
That’s exactly what I thought. My father was an upholster and I remember seeing similar things in his shop.
Hello Ladies! Always a pleasure seeing one of your mudlarking adventures. Its such a treat seeing all the treasures that you find.
Thank you for all of your time and effort makings the videos for us!
“Let’s get on with it” and then the looks afterwards😂 you two are adorable
Wow such cool finds, I love the plane and Mrs spider, her abdomen is gorgeous, wouldn’t it be fabulous if it was a sapphire 😮. And thank you for identifying the plants, I’ve always wondered what some of them are. Quite different from the other side of the world 😊
Fantastic video! Thank you for all the research!
Your videos always make me smile, thankyou.
Absolutely loved this video, very interesting 😊

Steve x
❤Wonderful finds of blue!
The spider! 😮 I’m amazed the jewels stayed in place! Thank you for sharing Amy’s story, so sad! I think you should cast the plane so we can buy & keep her memory alive! 🤗❤️
That spider has got to be the most amazing find I’ve EVER seen xxx
Thanks from the Netherlands, love watching you two.
Just found your site love it paul
Best one yet, cheers!
Your history snippets are always very interesting. Thank you for bringing to light Amy's wonderfully exciting life and her tragic demise. Cover ups always come back to bite, later on in tome. Tge truth always comes out.
Very interesting finds on this lark. Unusual and very interesting. That spider was a brilliant find. It amazes me what people throw away.
One mans rubbish is another mans treasure i suppose.
I look forward to going back there. Hopefully you'll have protection from the flying teeth when you go again. Lord, i bet you were itching like mad.
See you next time. Xxx
Wonderful day, ladies!!! Thank you.
I feel you being so excited about that spider... It is just gorgeous... oh my goodness...
Great video all the way through! I learn so much from you two. 🤔Thanks! ❤
Lead can be recycled for new batteries and can pay to take in . At any rate it’s good to remove from the environment when possible.
I agree. Get the lead out!
They often mention how they carry lead away from the foreshore while exploring. I’m sure they don’t film it, as it’s not exciting to watch. Also, I can’t imagine they can carry 20 or 30 pounds of lead back miles to where they have parked😊
That long strip with the teeth on both sides looks like what is on aluminum, wax paper, or plastic wrap boxes for cutting the product. They have the same clips on them for holding it onto the box. I always tear off the cutter so I can recycle the paper.
Thank you for the story of Amy Johnson, printing the name of plants on the screen, and sharing that wonderful spider. Love your channel.
I LOVE the spider! Thanks for the history lesson. I had never heard of her.
Another great vid Gail & Alex. That spider thing was a canny find Gail. So was Alex's find of the Aeroplane You never fail to amaze me . Thank you
Very nice haul. Could the little cobalt perfume bottle be Evening in Paris? Your spider is awesome!! My late lunch entertainment. ♥️👩🦳🌺🌴🐊 So sad about Amy.
Such an interesting video, thanks.
The broken lady ornaments I find , I put in plant pots for decorations!x
Oooo!!! New jewelry line!!!…. Sea Glass Spiders
💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Avon skin so soft is apparently really good at stopping midges biting. Also, Love the spider brooch!
"So we'll just go check that little stretch of river bank."...."OMG" what a great day you had with some awesome finds ..you found an amazing spider and that little plane with a history that sadly needed to be brought into the light of day ...such an amazing woman of her time that should be celebrated and not forgotten ...she was on par with Amelia Earhart and had she lived I'm sure she would have reached more lofty goals...a tragic loss for sure...thank you both for taking the time to research and share the history of your finds....Karl from eastern Canada
What a tragic end to a brave and fascinating woman. Thank you for enlightening us about her great life story. I also love the spider pin. You had a great haul on the river.
Gail will appreciate growing up with our mom's using Jergen's Lotion and Yardley English Lavender, and us getting Jean Nate for Christmas. I still use my Jean Nate in the summer. A real blast from the past like a Nat King Cole song.
Amazing finds here! Can’t wait until you go back here next time. We have stinging nettle in Canada too but luckily they’re invasive so we CAN chuck ‘em 😁
At last, I'm back !! I hate being sick 😮💨 Really missed following your adventures. Some wonderful treasures and the story of a very special woman. Such a sad demise for her brilliant achievements, thank you for telling her amazing story all from finding that tiny airplane. That spider is absolutely amazing, what a shocker for you Gail, the larking gods were really smiling on you both 😊I have some catching up to do on my favs ! Love and hugs to you both 🥰🥰 xx
You guys make me laugh, and that's a good thing!! Thank you for that!
Fabulous finds , love the spider , what an amazing place to search , so good , peace ✌️
So many awesome finds this round. Alex, I had to look up and see what a midge was and they are some bitey little buggers, aren't they? I also couldn't wait and tried looking up Gail's spider brooch. I didn't find that particular one but WOW, who knew that spider brooches were such a big thing!!!
Alex, do you know the song "Mama said there'd be days like this" ...? Looks like you are having a time! Happens to us all ... Au Courage, ma belle amie! Smudging your cheek and your face in response made me laugh out loud! ♥😊
I enjoy your films I watch them daily, just wanted to say with the old silverware, I seen some beautiful wind chimes made with all forks nives and spoons, sounds nice too... Keep up the good work ❤
Wonderful! Thank you! ❤️❤️💐💐👋🇦🇺
The history on the plane was so awesome.
😄😄 Love the entry! 😄😄❤️
The long, thin metal item with the jagged edges looks like something you would wrap around wire, metal or pipe to secure it. You would cinch it around the metal and hold it fast by putting one of the tabs into the holes.
Fabulous ladies, I love your videos. With the midges, cedar oil keeps bugs away and is completely natural. Also, and you may know these things, tea tree oil on the bites. Ugh, I hate midge bites, know them well. :( Love from DownUnder, Lynda
'Flabbered my gast!' 🤣 Ditto! Flabtabulous find! 🕷😄Maybe the lead head is Nessie? 😉 What a wonderful treasure lark, and the amazing Amy story. ❤
It's a calabash pipe Bowl
Ladies! I loved this video so much! One of my faves!!
Your mystery item reminds me of what we call a clipstrip here in the US. They are hung in stores with smaller items hooked on them, usually in the aisles. Picture a row of small toys affixed on cardboard hanging in a row down your item! It's probably not what it is but that was my first thought. Great video with great finds!
Love your videos and that spider was a great find
Wow, some great finds. I can't believe that you found a spider brooch. I have collected vintage jewelry for years, and have several of them. I don't like spiders, but when they're in brooch form I do!
