@@TheDungeonDive Very happy to hear that! It was a bit of an afterthought that came up when the standard game was already finished, and I’m not much of a solo player myself, but I tried my best to make something worthwhile.
It's the most trivial thing in the world, but I really like the physical books presentation with that faux gold like the zelda NES carts. Even the little nintendo seal of quality, or a stand-in for it. Looks neat, really, the style is right there with old NES boxes or manuals, stylistically.
If you're interested in d4s that are more fun to roll you can find some online; some are shaped like potion bottles which I think is very thematic given the Zelda theme.

I owe you three for that expansion into my life during a meh time. TLDR: Thanks for doing you. It really helped.
I just got my copy not long ago and I'm loving reading through it. I think pairing it with the pixel loot card decks will work very well! Thanks for the video and for getting me even more hyped.
Pretty jealous that you've got yourself a copy of this one! I've eyed it up more than once and, now that it's got the Dungeon Dive endorsement, I'm definitely gonna see if I can find a copy. I've just never seen a soloable ttrpg that captures that old school Zelda vibe - looks so cool!
I dont know how i missed seeing or hearing about it before the kickstarter. I usually do keep up on this stuff watching all the different gamer channels. But theres been several cool games that snuck past me and i didnt find out about them until it was already too late to pledge to get the hardcopies. :(
@@d.aardent9382 I took a look at their website and they have marked the game as being available for preorder, so fingers crossed we can bag ourselves copies!
Thanks for highlighting this game. From as design perspective I love how it is both open world yet fixed in its scope with a definite end point. It seems pretty straightforward but are there good DM tools in there to make dungeons or have encounters while exploring the overworld?
I'm starting to play SoloRPG and enjoy your channel much. I just preordered the book and solo pdf. until it arrives, I'll play Fabled Lands and a second run of "ritter der schwarzen sonne" :) all the best from germany!
Seeing ttrpgs trying to emulate video games is actually interesting, much more so than whatever dungeon crawler/indie darling/attempt to emulate old school rpgs from the 70s is in display. Ive been wanting to emulate an mmorpg experience in a solo rpg playthrough but instead of using something like riftbreakers or whatever indie ttrpg tried to emulate mmorpgs i wanna try to use both dnd 5e and fabula ultima together along with a generator and simple oracle. However the tricky part is trying to make both systems work together and how to approach the combination narratively.
As soon as you said pixel i was curious and then you said zelda....and now this is the game I would like to start with....i just want to know where to get it and the solo rules phsical. I would also love the supplement dungeons thar expand this. You have me buying this and man alone has me saving for thousand empty lights. Thank you for exposing this curious world of solo rpgs to me. Appreciate it
This is such a great game plus I have this game too as a PDF and because I am just a player and not planning on Saleing anything I use in the game. I am using both their map and the original zedia map from the link of the past and I have done a storyline where my character jumps through a portal ends up in hyrule but both new and old have merged together and the Shadow King is trying to rule both kingdoms at once!
Looks lovely! I will definately look into this. It seems the website of the publisher is down right now, maybe you have made too many dungeon divers zoom over there at the same time 😂
On another thought, seeing that it has only the three preconceived regional dungeons & the final level citadel. Which is really cool they are all quite different, i was pleasantly surprised that they werent going to all be the same cookie cutter basic dungeon... Anyway, what i was thinking could be cool for those that also like to muse and sketch out ideas on things like that, ya could create more thematic dungeons for the other regions also, maybe make couple different ones per region and then you could blind draw between them so it would be kinda a surprise as to which dungeon it was exactly. As a soloing gamer, ya have to figure out new tricks to add a little more unexpectedness and surprise where ya can when ya are your own GM. I like doing that sort of thing, so thats another draw for me to this, as its mostly all there, i just have to devise just certain limited parts, but i will have a framework in which to base the new created sections to. I might actually get some of my friends to play this as they arent really into big elaborate rpg's but they are video gamers.
PS: i found that they have some add-on game products of other regional dungeons they have pre-made. There is a desert one and one for the icebound region and another one i cant recall.
Looks pretty cool. May have to put it on my list of games to look into. I would use the bullet fours dice though. I dislike pyramid fours, they are just clumsy and antithetic to the ideal of rolling action. Lol
