It's also just a week in week out grind. Overtime, guys just burn out, especially if they've already had big paydays and have secured lucrative sponsorships. It shouldn’t. Scottie is a ball striker that still won with average to sub par putting. Jordan (who I love still and am not giving up on) was purely short game and imagination when in tough spots. Jordan Spieth will be in the Golf Hall of Fame. His collapse in the 2017 Masters has happened to many great players, see Jon Rahm in this years Olympic golf final, Rory McIlroy in this years US Open, Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan in US Open finals. What is not mentioned is Jordan Spieth has had a disease twice that often destroys athletes careers. That disease is mononucleosis. Jordan first came down with this as a junior in 2008, then again in December, 2017. I believe Mono for the second time caused Jordan's decline as a PGA touring pro. That Fall Robin came down with Mono which ended his tennis career. There are viral and bacterial infections that can be devastating to the central nervous system and ruin athletes careers. At least Jordan has been able to continue as a golf pro, and hopefully, for many more years.
Again, the OWGR is not a fair ranking of the best golfers in the world because of how the ignore LIV golfers. In the past two years he has struggled to finish in the top of the leaderboard and even make cuts. Sounds pretty average to me.

He may win another Major, but I do not think he will get a Career Grand Slam. Only all-time greats do that, and he is nowhere near that now. He has already missed 6 cuts (including Scottish Open) in 2024 and has dropped from 15th OWGR in the beginning of 2024 to 36th OWGR now. We all know he will never have another season close to 2015 but I wonder if he will ever win more than 2 or 3 more PGA tournaments the rest of his career.
His driving accuracy is the best of his career but his iron game and short game are average of below average right now. I could see him having a season similar to 2017 but that might require him to make another significant swing change.
Thanks for the input. I did not look that deeply into it. I saw the other day at the Open he had an eagle and the next hole was a par 3 where he missed the green by like 30 yards. Correct me if I am wrong but he seems very inconsistent.
Many thanks for this. I was so excited by him when he flirted with the 2015 Grand Slam and I've been wondering about what happened ever since. It's very sad. Perhaps, like so many others, he's afraid of how good he could be.

And then someone convinced him to create a brand new swing, as grown-ass adult man in his 20's. Why?! That swing got you multiple majors. Why would you break it apart and start fresh with a swing coach!?
Good video, problem is Jordan continued to play great golf until 2017 - 3 wins including the Open - and was in fact #1 in scoring that year. He changed his swing soon after because he got outdriven massively by DJ in a playoff late that year. It then took him 4 seasons before winning again. That's a long time to go winless and it has taken a toll on his confidence. The only good thing is he is longer and straighter with driver now, but the rest of his game has been inconsistent.
Golf is very difficult to maintain superhero status. The margins for error are extremely small and highly punitive. Golf is this way because, unlike team sports, it exposes the individual. Team sports allow for larger margins of error because other team members can often take up slack for an underperformer. Therefore, the Yankees can be the best team in Baseball for 70 years. Or, the Patriots can be the best NFL team for 10 years, etc. Not so in golf. You own your mistakes alone. Those of us who play golf competitively at an amateur level have a saying when things go bad on the course: "Cuz Golf". What happened to Spieth? Golf happened to Spieth. Just like it did to Jason Dufner, Anthony Kim, Adam Scott, Hunter Mahan, Jimmy Walker, Dustin Johnson, Boo Weekly, Aaron Baddeley, Victor Dubuisson. All amazing players. But, golf is not a destination, its a hard journey on a very narrow road full of hazards and troubles and ever changing spot lights. Staying at the top is impossible. Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead, Davis Love III, Art Wall are rarities in golf history who had longevity to win so late in life. Maybe Phil Mickelson too. Tiger is arguably the best golfer who ever lived (along with Nicklaus). He's only 48 and will likely never win again (probably). Only 50 golfers in PGA history have 17 or more wins in their career, and only 23 of those have ever played for more than 20 years.
He overcame a ton of ballstriking deficiencies with a very-good-if-often-lucky short game. And if you look at the venues where he's won or played well historically, it makes sense. Augusta has always favored players with good short games. Ditto the British Open. He lucked into Chambers Bay because DJ was battling his own major demons. Then if you look at his other 10 tour wins, it's a litany of shorter or easier courses (2 John Deeres, a Travelers, a Heritage, a bunch of Texas tournaments). You don't see any Memorials or PLAYERS or WGCs on there. That's not to say his wins are invalid or that he's a bad player, but the majority of his wins have come at venues where you can get around with a middling long game.
When Jordan was dominating the PGA tour the buzz was "he's the next Tiger, the next phenom"... Practically everone was saying it but to be a "phenom" you have to be unbelievably, just insanely great at what you do and Jordan, I am sorry, just never had that ...He was putting lights out but not much more...When Tiger won the Masters in 1997 everyone recognized he was a phenom immediately and when the next one comes the same will happen, it will stick out, you will just know it.
His driving this year has been amazing. His irons are off, bit I think its because of his tendon issue. His putting has been average. PS Last year everyone was claiming JT is done, and this year has been a 180. So lets wait till next year...

He won after 2016 so the Masters theory doesn't hold water. I just think it's hard to play consistently with a weak hand grip if your not long. He always has to be the best inside 100 and that's extremely hard to sustain.
Jordan got married and it looked to me that he did not even want to be on the golf course this year. Only he knows if he put in the work to maintain top level play. He is making plenty of money. He needs to be like Jack, concentrate on the majors. I know he is required to play in a certain number of tournaments. He needs to schedule them wisely. Burn out is a real possibility.
Jordan got married and has a family. His priorities have changed. He also is lacking confidence right now. He is thinking too much and not trusting his swing. Despite all that, he is still playing well enough to be a top 60 golfer. Hopefully he regains his mojo soon.
My brother in law sent me a text a few months ago when Spieth made an eagle on a hole. I sent a reply that said, “Now he needs to figure out what to do on the other 71 holes!!!”
I like Spieth but he doesn't seem to have the all around game to compete for Majors. I think it is his driver more than anything else that lets him down. And that is probably especially true when he gets himself in contention. Watching him I'm amazed at how many errant drives he hits and how far off course he hits them. His length is a shortcoming but his accuracy off the tee seems to really plague him.
I think after he gets his wrist surgery done, rehabs, and gets back on tour, we may well see the old Jordan again. He really only has to find his putting again. His driving is much improved in both length and accuracy. It is his putting and scrambling that have given him the most trouble over the last couple of years. As for this video, it is a total P.O.S. advertising some bulls--t psycho therapy.
Spieth had kids. His priorities have changed. It will be the same for Scheffler once he spends a couple months at home after the season is over. It's just a natural progression. When the kids grow up a little, these guys will be able to focus more on their game.

I'm going to say something controversial here. Nothing happend to jordan. Same player he was when he was winning all those majors. The difference? putting. he was by far the best putter during his winning seasons and when he rose to no 1. Now, he isn't. Simple as that. Sometimes, the putts just stop going in. It's what made Tiger so special. The putts always went in. Always. it's the difference between jack and everyone else. the putts always went in. Jordan saw the putts stop going in and he overreacted and started making changes to the rest of his game instead of just having a little patience. 😊
Golf in terms of Top 10 players in the world, the margains are crazy thin. How good you have to be to be ranked inside the Top 100 is insane. Jordan has unfortunately lost his ball striking with his irons. He is still elite in certain categories, but his iron play is hands down not PGA level currently. If he figures something out with the irons, he can get back to a Top 10 player, but as i said hes lost in that sense.
Fun fact. I went to a luxury rehab in 2017 with Dustin Johnson’s sister. She grabbed my butt and groped me multiple times in the cafeteria. We were not friends and I was kind of scared of her lmao.
Jordan takes the game too seriously, as a result, his psychology is off balance from past errors. Now, he anticipates mistakes and then proceeds to make them. In golf, negative thoughts are cancerous. He needs a caddy on his bag that will keep him centered. His career is far from over.
I wonder if. his caddie will stick with him. I watched a scene at the Players where his caddie begged him not to make the shot he was trying to make and Jordon ignored him. Jordon's shot was a disaster.
I think the problem is his left hand grip is way too weak and his coach is awful. Makes everything way too complicated. Titleist does a lot of great things but they also employ a lot of people who understand the science of a golf but they can’t teach or communicate worth a damn.
Just another mediocre golfer who can’t seem to wrap their head around working out and being in peak shape. A mockery of the game tbh. Tiger was the only player to push himself to the physical limit-and it showed.
Yes, the number 36 ranked player in the OWGR and 50 something on datagolf/fedexcup rankings is below average on tour. Totally makes sense. Love your content man, but that's just sensationalism 😂
Jordan’s great putter deserted him, am a fan of his but when he stands over those 3 footers I just cringe, yell at the tube just putt it and don’t keep checking all the angles and talk yourself out of making it. No Jordan will never win another major might not seriously contend.
You can only stay of the knife’s edge for so long. Tiger caught the pga when it was performing well below players capabilities because of institutional mediocrity.
Lets be honest, spieth is a very good golfer but he's kind of overachieved given his talent. The reason why is his putter was on absolute fire for a couple years. I knew once the putter went cold so would his career. Hes never been an overly remarkable ball striker by tour standards
He was overrated. He will never win another tournament. I can't believe HH will pay him a dime when his deal with them ends. He won't finish this year in the top 50. I give him maybe 3 years before he leaves the tour.
Last time i checked, he was a top 50 player in the world. How you can question if he's even an average professional golfer is completely asinine and shows your ignorance.
That’s also a ranking that doesn’t properly rank LIV golfers. This year he has missed the cut at the master, T43 at USO, and T41 at the PGA (while playing better than he has in the past few years in my opinion). That’s a wild fall from what he used to be able to do. To call this ignorant is just silly my friend, I think it’s entirely fair.
He rarely ever makes the cut at the PGA every single year. He finally fixed his accuracy off the tee and yet his ball striking and putting are average. The last time he was in contention for a major was at the 2021. Spieth's OWGR might be 36th but in reality his skill level is much closer to about 100th right now.
Jordan is washed up. Will still make money but his game is no where close to what it was. Same with Justin Thomas. They made their money. Set for life financially and the drive to get better is gone. Tiger was the rare exception. He stayed hungry even with all the wins and money.
His decline has been due to his life choices. He is a family man and does a lot for other, often less fortunate, people. I think he reached the top of golf, and then used that as a means to better others. For him, golf is secondary to being a better person. This is why he is my fav golfer.
Yeah, I agree. I’m not gonna watch your video because we know what happened to Jordan Spieth and we don’t need 20 minutes to explain it. He thinks too much.

That said, the putts clearly have stopped going in for Tiger.
I think he's distracted. 😊
Hole 12 at Augusta took away his unshakable confidence. Did the same thing to Molinari and Norman.
He has the talent. Golf is 80 % mental 20% physical they say.
The 12th hole at Augusta happened.
More reasons to appreciate tigers run
That is WILD. In rehab no less?
Jordan takes the game too seriously, as a result, his psychology is off balance from past errors. Now, he anticipates mistakes and then proceeds to make them. In golf, negative thoughts are cancerous. He needs a caddy on his bag that will keep him centered. His career is far from over.
I wonder if. his caddie will stick with him. I watched a scene at the Players where his caddie begged him not to make the shot he was trying to make and Jordon ignored him. Jordon's shot was a disaster.
He got married. His priorities changed. Nothing wrong with that.
OK video, but terrible sponsor. BetterHelp has a sordid past.
I think the problem is his left hand grip is way too weak and his coach is awful. Makes everything way too complicated. Titleist does a lot of great things but they also employ a lot of people who understand the science of a golf but they can’t teach or communicate worth a damn.
Saying he isn’t better than average is kinda crazy. He still is a great. Just not elite.
2015 Sergio Garcia is still my favorite golfer ever
After the 2016 Masters collapse he should have gotten a new caddie.
The Chuck Knoblauch of golf.
Justin Thomas too man 😢😢
Just another mediocre golfer who can’t seem to wrap their head around working out and being in peak shape. A mockery of the game tbh. Tiger was the only player to push himself to the physical limit-and it showed.
Willet? IT WILL!
Jordans square upbring is what's hurting him now welcome to real life
No, he’s rich and happy for now. Wait till all his money and stuff runs out and he’ll be motivated again.
Not an average pga tour golfer is such a ridiculous statement lmao
This year he absolutely has been. So many missed cuts. Probably still has the chance to get back to good golf but he is not at all in form right now.
Yes, the number 36 ranked player in the OWGR and 50 something on datagolf/fedexcup rankings is below average on tour. Totally makes sense.
Love your content man, but that's just sensationalism 😂
He is just average now. He doesn’t win.
@@MrTthaha Tommy Fleetwood has 0 PGA tour wins. Is he average?
@@justalogician Maybe man but it's also just an opinion. I think those numbers would be different as well if the LIV guys were properly ranked.
I literally couldn’t watch the video after hearing that
@@justalogician Fleetwood has won race to Dubai and MULTIPLE big events outside PGA. Spieth hasn’t won anything in YEARS
He got married.
When you are a neurotic headcase with a dose of compulsion life is hard.
Golf is very difficult to sustain greatness.
Dude's hurt
It doesn't help that he's needed wrist surgery for a year or more
Jordan’s great putter deserted him, am a fan of his but when he stands over those 3 footers I just cringe, yell at the tube just putt it and don’t keep checking all the angles and talk yourself out of making it.
He was the last of the short knockers. Its a long hitters game now
Brian Harman won The Open in 2023.
Colin morikawa?
David Duval 2.0?
Golf is hard.
….he got married…..
Great player who should FIRE his golf coach an get over to Butch Harmen as soon as he wakes up from having such a lousy swing that cant hold up.
He sold out and said Obama beat him at golf.
Right now he is barely above average
in 2024, Spieth has finally achieved consistency in his putting: consistently awful.
yippy ass comment
Subscribe to this guy guys what are you doing?!
He got Duvaled.
Jordan is washed up. Will still make money but his game is no where close to what it was. Same with Justin Thomas.
They made their money. Set for life financially and the drive to get better is gone.
Tiger was the rare exception. He stayed hungry even with all the wins and money.
i can help him would you believe it
Are you a real person making these vids?
Yessir
His decline has been due to his life choices. He is a family man and does a lot for other, often less fortunate, people. I think he reached the top of golf, and then used that as a means to better others. For him, golf is secondary to being a better person. This is why he is my fav golfer.
He got married and had kids guy.
He got soft.
Whatever caused it, I bet cyclists played a part
Yeah, I agree. I’m not gonna watch your video because we know what happened to Jordan Spieth and we don’t need 20 minutes to explain it. He thinks too much.
2016 masters choke ruined his confidence and he made swing changes that prevented him from winning for 5 years
He got rich, and golf is no longer that IMPORTANT to him....simple.
