@@HumberKoi even drums let some stuff through though when the Air to our two moving bed bio chambers when off for a week while we ordered a new air pump one chamber the 300L bio chamber with the 75L hel-X 13 (all static at this point) released a massive cloud of fine silt when we hooked up the new air pump Jebao pa100 (doing two 300L moving beds) the K1 and micro mixed chamber didn't catch any fines but there was still a little bit of water movement in that chamber. The nexus filters do work well just at a much slower flow rate than a drum can handle. We have a Draco drum solum 25 Burton's didn't exist back then and our drum was £350 cheaper than it is now (inflation for ya) so in today's market we'd definitely buy the cheapest stand alone Burton's drum the "BD300 cube" we've seen one in person brilliant bit of kit !
@@HumberKoi just don't get the small Oase combi drum there isn't enough space for media and the mesh isn't as fine as Draco 58 or Burtons 60 micron also avoid the cheapest Quinny koi drum it's 100 micron I think. If you're pump fed it might be worth contacting Draco or Burtons as I'm not sure if they're recommended for pump fed. That said I have seen a drop in Draco in person working on some sort of evolve bio chamber filter but it was the same drop-in that fits on the nexus and it was working a treat and would probably be the cheapest option for you going forward and would be perfect for your size of pond. We use mains water pressure to clean our Draco with tap water and it does the job if you can't plumb it in like that you can get a wash pump but talk to your dealer or Draco for more information as mine is limited 😅 I wouldn't completely write off the nexus like you said in a previous video they hold 500L of water and (with enough Air like the Jebao PA100 like we have) you can put a lot of EA K-plus media in there (enough for twice your pond volume) !
I like forward thinkers... This should be an interesting result Been thinking of getting a used nexus. Lol do you want to build this .. that removes a lot of fines Good job lads
@@HumberKoi it was a damaged profidrum screen. They say its 75 microns. I was cleaning mine out and a saw fell off the wall and dug straight into it. Won't be doing that again! 🤣 your modification looks to be working a treat mate, you should find you won't have to clean that as often in time once most of the fines are out.
I wouldn't be showing people how you make it, or at least get it patented first hahaha , so no one can copy it. 😀. Great idea though, and yes would be good to tweak it, as it might cause issues when people went on holiday. I like it though so far 💯 👍.
Absolutely fecking awesome job there guys 💯👌🧁👍👍👍
Cheers dude appreciate you watching
Great idea guys, looks like it could work a dream once it's taken the initial load out👌 look forward to seeing the outcome
Hopefully so mate ponds clearing and the times are getting longer
I guess now we know why people like drum filters even though Nexus can be self cleaning these days, still its a nice feeling to DIY stuff !
Honestly now I can see the drum appeal how much finer partials it removes is crazy

ive seen a few draco ones that go on the top of the nexus but im thinking of saving and just buying a combie one for the space

⛩🐟⛩
Wow what a project that would be!!! Thank you for watching
You should of asked on a previous video about the mesh. I had some for sale on ebay that would of done that a treat. Had it on there for £15
What micron was it mate

The over flow can handle 20k over the top no problem, and if I wasn’t going to be home I’d leave it out just experimenting atm
Use tin snips for cutting it mate 👌🏻
Its 22 mm thick was a stupid to cut ill sort it for next one 🤪 cheers for watching dude
Nice
🙏thanks
Combination square. (Sorry, ocd) interesting video though.
😂👌
