- for The first time in Europe, more than 30 years after marking his greatest success in Jamaica, 'Boops': the model of dancehall songs that will cause a sensation in the years to come, both from the point of view of sound (with new rhythms and melodies foundation digitized) and from that of the lyrics (the figure of the rastaman takes on a more "urban" connotation). In the history of reggae Super Cat (William Maragh) is a key figure in every aspect. Around 1990, Super Cat achieved something that Bob Marley had never been granted: success in the American market. Hip Hop was in its infaction and reggae had no appeal to black Americans (except for some "enlightened" Production of Wackies). Only when, in late 1980s Jamaica, the roots & culture combination gave way to dancehall & reality, did the rhythms become digital beats and the singers turned into rappers (at the time they were still called toasters), did American producers prick their ears. The lives of jamaican artists of the new generation turned out to be very similar to those of young people in the Bronx or other poor neighborhoods in New York and Los Angeles. Gang wars, drug dealing and gun crimes. The minimal beat of dancehall would dominate Hip Hop in the 1990s. Super Cat is the Don Dada for excellence of this sparkling pollination between dancehall and Rap. "Don Dada" was also the title of his first American album for major Colombia (1992). In those years he collaborated with Heavy D, Kris Kross and for the relatively unknown Notorious BIG. He later worked with Sugar Ray, India Arie, The Neptunes and Nas. Few Jamaicans have built an impressive career in the United States as Super Cat.

Respect Super Cat. When you were talking about Elpaso sound you were right about hearing Elpaso in Kingston, because that's where Elpaso comes from 2 mile .I don't know where that Italian guy got his misinformation from about the sound coming from Montego bay. These people need to do there research Elpaso was played by the great Dennis Alcapone.
Now my brother look what you see is going on so many youths have been kill in tribal war RIP Barry Brown.
