Since I've gotten 101 different comments about this. No these weapons aren't better in BL3 than in 2. They also ARENT BAD, just worse than before, these weapons all perform better in 2 than 3 with no skills/GR points.
Someone's only counting unique weapons toward the total here, shame. BL1 is the game with more possible guns due to how accessories work, and it's the one with the fewest unique of the series. That being said, the Infinity is a dumpster fire in BL2 and it's only worth it when glitching out of map raid boss farming, like Vora. It's somewhat decent on Zer0 but why would you even bother when it gets outperformed by 20 other options on him as well? PS for the uninitiated like yourself, DPUH was BL2's SECOND strongest weapon since the Interfacer exists.
@@John_Smith_ in most cases the Harold outperforms the Interfacer, at least in most of my builds. Everything you said about the Infinity is just straight up facts. Even a blue rarity Anarchist (Vladof pistol with Vladof barrel) deals more damage than the infinity.
so if you didnt know the baby maker can actually be obtained half way through the game if you do the beast slaughter on promethea since the vandas have the same AI as broodmother and can drop it. also what the fuck you mean broodmother is a rare spawn? there a fucking hammerlock hunt and are like bosses and respawn on a timer after being killed.

@@logan7159 Here's a pro tip to go straight to mayhem 10. Switch to mayhem 11. If you have the dough (which you should), tip Moxxi repeatedly. You want to get the Hail and the Crit from her via mail. Happy hunting!
I think what brings it down is 1 it's not a Pearl anymore and 2 He's got a point You have to complete missions on mayhem 10 to get it And by that point you probably have something better it's not a bad gun I enjoy using it it's just not as good as it could be
Putting the Bekah and Harold on this list but not the Hellfire is insane. The hellfire might be one of the worst weapons in the game, while the bekah is one of the best ARs and the Harold a solid A-tier pistol.
I straight up forgot about the hellfire's existence, that's the soul reason it's not on this list. But you can't say that the Harold isn't a glow down and then call it an A tier weapon in BL3 when it is very clearly an S tier in Borderlands 2.

Flakker is my favorite gun in BL2 and I can absolutely assure that it both performs and feels better in this game. You genuinely cannot convince me that with this game's splash capabilities, the fact that it can roll with elements, and its massively improved ammo efficiency alongside all the buffs this game has to offer that it is worse.
The Bekah is actually good now thanks to a buff, FL4K becomes the God of Death with it, also it appears in Maurice's Black Market Vending Machine every once in a while.
Hellfire should have been no 1. Disagree with the Harolds placement, its an objectively good gun in BL3, its just not mandatory to have on all characters like it was in BL2

@@ConstantCanadian the main problem I got with that statement is that a lot of people seem to think that the bl2 version was better sure it was crazy strong but the bl3 version with a decent build can easily 1 shot most enemies even some bosses that's why I'm honestly surprised to not see the hellfire on this list at first I thought the harold was placed in as a joke lol the hellfire is probably one of the worst legendary weapons in the game (worst one being that pistol that can't kill enemies) with its only feature being the dot being pretty much useless

in bl2, a DPUH 18 levels under enemy level still cleared easy, in bl3 its just decent but not the overpowered singe machine it was in bl2. any class with any buuld could use dpuh and do really well.

The worst part about the Ogre is you literally have to give it an unofficial part setup with the Save Editor to even make it worth using, I've given the Ogre the Radiation element, optimal parts, and the underbarrel it's sorely missing to even make it good.
Baby maker is literally the strongest base game pistol. The Unkempt harold in Bl3 is better than the Unkempt harold in Bl2 in every way. And that was already before they doubled the damage of it in Bl3. Bekah, Hornet, Flakker and Gunerang are also objectively better in Bl3.
People seem to forget the cut purse is a variant It is not a standalone artifact getting a good artifact that has the cut purse prefix of it Is important for example cut purse deathless.
I unironically beat tiny tina’s assault on dragon keep with the infinity pistol just because I picked it up, saw the infinity symbol, and was like “INFINITY PISTOL???! HELL YEAH!” My reasoning further: I thought it was cool, no regrets

I’m sorry but the unkempt Harold is absolutely amazing 😭 all you could do with the Harold in bl2 op 10 was use it to heal. In bl3 you can kill raid bosses with it.
kinda late but quick note is you can actually get the baby maker HALF way through the game if you do the beast slaughter arena as the vandas that spawn there have the same coding as the broodmother and can drop it.
No mention of the Hellfire? That gun is not worth the trouble of obtaining in BL3 (it only drops from one named enemy on Eden-6). The damage is laughably bad and they made it a Dahl gun instead of Maliwan for some inexplicable reason. For a gun that's appeared in every game in the series, they really did the BL3 version dirty...
First of all: the BL2 Gunerang is absolutely awful. I cannot even describe how bad it is. Secondly: Calling the Flakker bad, cause there are better options like the butcher, but ignoring this fact when talking about the conference call has to be a bad joke. Apart from that the Flakker really shines on Amara and especially on Moze. Third: The Boneshredder in BL2 sucks ass. Especially considering all it´s potential alternatives. If you want a "bulletstorm weapon" you´re so much better of taking the Slagga oder the Tattler. Fourth: the Harold as your numer 1!? Are you serious!? The Unkempt Harold in BL3 is even stronger than it´s BL2 counterpart. It destroys everything. Considering it now even get´s the benfit of an element boosts it´s strength even further. And at last: where is the Hellfire? where is the Bitch? Where is the Fastball or any of the other now awful grenades? Where is the Rough Rider?
1. The gunerang isn't really that bad, it's not dominating like a Harold, for example, but with the right setup it can absolute shred through bosses HP bars. 2. I've said in comments before that the flakker might be better than I'm giving it credit for, that's on me 3. The Harold isn't actually better in BL3, it just benefits more from characters skills, the weapon, on its own merits, is worse 4. I can't just name every single item that is worse than previous games, I don't have an infinite amount of time to make videos every week, so naturally some will be left out. And the rough rider is LITERALLY the EXACT same as it was in BL2, it just again, doesn't help much because the characters are different and don't have a lot of 'empty shield' skills 5. Didnt see the part about the bone shredder. Once again, I'm not trying to say the bone shredder was meta in BL2, but it was still a good weapon, even at OP10, but in BL3 its hot garbage.
Go test the bl3 Hornet again, like the conference call, it will surprise you. Moze/Amara, or really any characters with AOE buff will destroy with the Hornet. The Bekah also wrecks with the Infernal Wish, or with Fl4k/Zane who can add to it's unlisted projectiles.
The Harold is very strong in BL3 and I think that while it is a glow down, it is a good one. The Harold in BL2 is too strong, straight up broken in normal mode and so easy to obtain. The Harold in BL3 is a very good weapon that works super well with Moze. I did the maliwan takedown with just different elemental harolds. I was very pleased with the porting of the weapon in BL3 but that's just my opinion
the Flakker was superceeded by the Firecracker in love gun and tentacles as a quest reward. It is hyperion with an absorb shield so you never run out of ammo and blast away, its amazing on fl4k crits since all the projectiles are buffed by your AS and moze because splashy.
Og bl3 harold 100% should be on this list, but it got a massive buff and absolutely cooks on moze in this game. This game has a very different sandbox than bl2 so a lot more is viable. But Harold on moze is absolutely an s tier weapon. Bekah is very good on fl4k as people have said. The conference call 1000% belongs on this list though
Something to consider is that the baby maker and bone shredder going from smg to pistol is considered a nerf due to both guns chewing through ammo the way they do and being pit on a weapon type wit lower max ammo than their previous incarnations.
The Bone Shredder should've been like the Needle Gun where it was a Tediore SMG like in the first game but also a Tediore that was much better to shoot rather than reload. Lets be real everyone doesn't care about the Needle Gun's reload so why couldn't the Bone Shredder be the same?
I feel like the unkempt is more powerful in bl3. I feel like it shoudl have been replaced by thr conference call. Actually the hell fire. That gun is compete garbage in bl3
It's my fave game in the BL series so I'm a bit biased, but the flakker was really good in TPS, combining it's big splash radius with a good cryo weapon is so funn
i'd say the sandhawk at least deserves an honorable mention here due entirely to the fact that it was changed from an smg to a sniper rifle of all things, completely destroying its max ammo count
@mr.bigshot9987 honestly, I don't think the sandhawk took that big of a hit in this game. Sure it's ammo cap is lower, but it's still the single highest per shot damage sniper in the game. Plus at endgame, ammo isn't really too hard to come by.
This list could have been alternatively titled as a list of guns that Pitchford has had public tantrums about. No seriously. Realize that most of these Pitchford had public tantrums about and in some cases actually nerfed outright like the Conference call in the BL2 days.

Heavy investment into the moze purple tree for status effect damage and green for incendiary plus a pearl and infernal wish makes the hellfire capable of killing anointed enemies. I’m an amateur build maker and even I got that thing absolutely shredding,with dots no less. As it is though on other characters yeah don’t even bother.

To be perfectly honest, Borderlands 3 dropped the ball on a lot of the legendary weapons. Sure, some are solid, but I think the biggest problem, in my opinion, has been the insanely high drop rate for most of these weapons. I told someone recently that when I replayed BL1 with my son a couple months ago, we found a combined 4 legendaries on our first playthrough. In BL2, we found 8 legendaries between the two of us. In BL3, though, we found almost 200 legendaries combined before even playing the DLC, many of which were exact repeats. This excessive drop rate devalues anything under legendary, and sadly, my son had very little desire to go back and do more in BL3. After finishing up everything in BL3, he wanted to go back to BL2, because, and I quote, "BL3 was fun, but the story sucked and the legendary drops were too frequent to feel special." I can't agree enough. Sure, BL3 plays better in almost every way, but at the end of the day, legendaries should feel rare and special. Not so regularly that I personally picked up 68 by the time I reached level 40. That's more than one per level and without grinding. haha
While not the best SMG, the Bitch was a solid SMG and worked great with a Maya build, where you could really take advantage of that bonus crit damage. 3 just gives the gun too low of base damage
I'm using a random harold with URAD that my friend gave me on my Moze and it's absoloutely hilarious to use not as strong some the other legendary pistols that can slaughter a boss but it's good enough to get the job done
Disagree with the Harold take. It’s very good in both games. Yes, it was busted in BL2 but only because it’s damage was so high. IMO BL3 did it justice by balancing the weapons perfectly to where it’s still VERY strong.
Sandhawk: Still has good builds, but it is now a sniper, which gives it a LOT less ammo. Hellfire: .....wait, was this even in BL3???......it was?, Oh. Bitch: Not even close to BL2 Bitch and loses to most other Legendary SMG's At the end of the day, we just had Vault Hunter abilities (Gunzerking and B0re) which were very compatible with their game's weapons, so while some guns really are worse than their BL2 counterparts, others just will never have their full abilities used in BL3. We also don't have Slag (Goated element) in BL3, so dmg is a lot less for weapons like the Harold, as well as the complete neglect of the Slagga.
Bone Shredder was a tediore smg (bl1) than a bandit smg (bl2), to now a vladolf pistol? They shouldve changed it back to tediore with a unique reload quirk

Why are the harold and flakker on here? Flakker is better in every possible way in 3 and absolutely wrecks with Moze! Harold is also even better. Unless you put the harold on here because it absolutely is the best gun in borderlands 2 and not in 3 (not counting gun glitches like pimperhab)
Played with the flakker. Hell it’s easier to use than in bl2. And it slaps quite hard. The unkempt Harold continues to slap. I think old title legendaries got rebalanced. For example, the storm was meh in bl2 but slaps decently well in bl3.
The Ogre first appeared in Borderlands 1 and was better in that game than Borderlands 2 or Borderlands 3. The Unkempt Herald and the Bekah are still a excellent guns in Borderlands 3. You didn't mention the Hellfire.
Gear box nurfed alot of items that should have been good in bl3. Example the tink's boom The gyrojets call down meters to hit the target. Should have done good damage it is a reward from the takedown....
Honestly the bone shredder was never really good. In BL1 it was just a worse double anarchy. It was ok for the first playthrough, but this is only because you get it very early, where your barely have any good weapons.
I feel like the Harold doesn't count. Feels less like it got worse and more that the game was easier and therefore, it was less demanded, and there's more alternatives to it. If anything, thanks to the changes to the Harold now being able to spawn with an elemental capacitor, I'd say it's more versatile now. Is it really a "glow down" if it's just the external circumstances changing?
Man, this was an enjoyable watch in terms of quality, but you gotta just play the game more. Calling this video a ‘glow DOWN’ list, but putting in the Flakker and Unkempt Harold, which are both OBJECTIVELY much better in 3 than in 2, blows my mind.
I appreciate the compliment on the quality. I've said in other comments that the flakker is probably just a skill issue to me, but I genuinely feel that the Harold is better in 2. It's a VERY strong weapon in both games, but in BL2 you could use it with no points successfully, in Borderlands 3 you have to build for it to truly wreck
I was so sad that we waited basically forever for them to come back, they got one of the coolest gimmicks, and they still sucked, besides thier ONE legendary that doesnt even use thier gimmick! It uses something i would expect from tediore!
@undeadinside3571 I'm wondering if that was kind of intentional. As a major plot point of BL3 was Katagawa trying to merge with Rhys to make his weapons stronger. The main thing that hold most atlas weapons back is being non-elemental, and Maliwan could've given them that.
Harold being here makes the entire list a joke, the harold is by FAR a stronger weapon in bl3 than it is in 2, top tier weapon on basically every build that involves shooting guns, and will last for ages once you get one due to legendary balancing in bl3
Im surprised when he mentioned the harold he didnt bring up the x4 variety side note the x6 varient of the butcher atleast with my experience with it consumes more ammo and for my flak build which is crit based i hold the trigger down for like 2 seconds and im reloading but if i use the x3 butcher my finger gets tired from holding it down all day with no reloads or breaks. I just farmed up an okay stakbot with 35% weapon damage and 60 some % jackobs crit dam and forgot i have a lvl 72 mayhem 10 bekah and ill have to test it out shortly to see how it does cause while using the masher varient of the clairvoyance with not even close to perfect parts i absolutely shred everything so curious to see how the bekah does.
i can prob guess you weren't using the right build for the hornet make a ties that bind build and use a hornet i shredded both truants, eden 6 vault boss, and a couple others really easily. every weapon has a build you just have to know which build suits it best also i'm confused about the harold you say it's much weaker than it previous when it's honestly a upgrade having a tighter spread and with an explosive build (like in BL2 and in your showcase) it shreds most of these guns were changed or nerfed because this game isn't BL2 it a much quicker loot shooter which forces gearbox to change the guns like making the harold having a tighter spread and the flaker shot farther. i'm all about it's the internet say what you want but plz have the right test and right judgement for the guns and other recurring legendries and not base BL3 off of BL2. it's not it a dif world in the same universe it will never be BL2 so stop comparing the 2 games p.s in your chapter you spelled "Unkempt Harold" wrong
The chapters are auto-generated, so that's on youtube lol. But these rankings were based on the weapons, not the builds. If you take the Unkempt Harold through the rounds in BL2 vs BL3 with no skills or other gear, then Borderlands 2's will significantly out-perform Borderlands 3's. As I mentioned in the pinned comment of this video, the guns aren't better than previous versions, but the characters in 3 are just significantly more powerful.
The Infinity Pistol is the only gun I used in both 2 and 3, you can totally make it viable in all situations with the right builds. It's fun to me to test the limits of this supposedly useless weapon. There's nothing that you can't finish with it, making the game more Souls like.
It actually helped me beat hemovorous couldn't do it with guardian ranked off. Till I used infinity with seeing dead so constantly healed of shooting. Worst weapon became the best lol

The Flakker is good. You don't know how to use it. The Hornet, Unkempt Harold, the Bekah are all good. Instead of meta defining good, they're just an option. I wish people understood that the game in BL2 wasn't great for viability for a lot of weapons. Even if they had 500 uniques and legendaries, if only 5 are good at op10, what's the point? In fact, some uniques were so much better than anything else, Gearbox purposely decided that uniques in the future were going to be pitiful things, not even to roll with anoints, that's how much they didn't like they're scaling (a little hyperbole, but seriously, only half the uniques in bl3 can roll anoints). So, I disagree with those 4 weapons being glow downs. The fact that the Hellfire, which IS a true glow down, wasn't included, just baffles the mind and strains your credibility. Weapons that should have been included: the slow hand (better in BL2, no idea why it's so weak in comparison in BL3), Hail and Heartbreaker (due to Gearbox's decree against uniques), Sledge's Shotgun (IDK what even went wrong, it's just bad in BL3), and I want to say Mongol, but honestly, it's just a sideways move of less ammo per shot vs being able to crit, so I'll give it a pass.

I will say i disagree with the infinity. It helped me through most of the game since i got lucky and pickup a new almost every time the last one started to become bullet spongy. And also i now keep one on me as a last stand pistol its great because you dont get those moments where you run out of ammo before reviving so for me its a great tool

Hearing the baby maker is rare shocked me. It drops constantly for me, along with a lot of legendary tediores. Usually just to be sold but still
It's only really "rare" before Mayhem mode, when world drops aren't crazy frequent. Unfortunately that's also the only time it's useful

It's not rare you can easily farm it in the cistern of slaughter, where 4 bosses drop it

This was my problem too. The Harold is probably better on 3 than 2, as the accuracy problem it used to have doesn't feel as important in the new game
in bl2, a DPUH 18 levels under enemy level still cleared easy, in bl3 its just decent but not the overpowered singe machine it was in bl2. any class with any buuld could use dpuh and do really well.
in bl3 the harold can no longer drop with the dp prefix there for it is not as good then in bl2

The worst part about the Ogre is you literally have to give it an unofficial part setup with the Save Editor to even make it worth using, I've given the Ogre the Radiation element, optimal parts, and the underbarrel it's sorely missing to even make it good.

kinda late but quick note is you can actually get the baby maker HALF way through the game if you do the beast slaughter arena as the vandas that spawn there have the same coding as the broodmother and can drop it.

No mention of the Hellfire? That gun is not worth the trouble of obtaining in BL3 (it only drops from one named enemy on Eden-6). The damage is laughably bad and they made it a Dahl gun instead of Maliwan for some inexplicable reason.
For a gun that's appeared in every game in the series, they really did the BL3 version dirty...
First of all: the BL2 Gunerang is absolutely awful. I cannot even describe how bad it is.
Secondly: Calling the Flakker bad, cause there are better options like the butcher, but ignoring this fact when talking about the conference call has to be a bad joke. Apart from that the Flakker really shines on Amara and especially on Moze.
Third: The Boneshredder in BL2 sucks ass. Especially considering all it´s potential alternatives. If you want a "bulletstorm weapon" you´re so much better of taking the Slagga oder the Tattler.
Fourth: the Harold as your numer 1!? Are you serious!? The Unkempt Harold in BL3 is even stronger than it´s BL2 counterpart. It destroys everything. Considering it now even get´s the benfit of an element boosts it´s strength even further.
And at last: where is the Hellfire? where is the Bitch? Where is the Fastball or any of the other now awful grenades? Where is the Rough Rider?
1. The gunerang isn't really that bad, it's not dominating like a Harold, for example, but with the right setup it can absolute shred through bosses HP bars.
2. I've said in comments before that the flakker might be better than I'm giving it credit for, that's on me
3. The Harold isn't actually better in BL3, it just benefits more from characters skills, the weapon, on its own merits, is worse
4. I can't just name every single item that is worse than previous games, I don't have an infinite amount of time to make videos every week, so naturally some will be left out. And the rough rider is LITERALLY the EXACT same as it was in BL2, it just again, doesn't help much because the characters are different and don't have a lot of 'empty shield' skills
5. Didnt see the part about the bone shredder. Once again, I'm not trying to say the bone shredder was meta in BL2, but it was still a good weapon, even at OP10, but in BL3 its hot garbage.
Flakker shines on Flak too
Go test the bl3 Hornet again, like the conference call, it will surprise you. Moze/Amara, or really any characters with AOE buff will destroy with the Hornet. The Bekah also wrecks with the Infernal Wish, or with Fl4k/Zane who can add to it's unlisted projectiles.
The Harold is very strong in BL3 and I think that while it is a glow down, it is a good one. The Harold in BL2 is too strong, straight up broken in normal mode and so easy to obtain. The Harold in BL3 is a very good weapon that works super well with Moze. I did the maliwan takedown with just different elemental harolds. I was very pleased with the porting of the weapon in BL3 but that's just my opinion

the Flakker was superceeded by the Firecracker in love gun and tentacles as a quest reward. It is hyperion with an absorb shield so you never run out of ammo and blast away, its amazing on fl4k crits since all the projectiles are buffed by your AS and moze because splashy.
Og bl3 harold 100% should be on this list, but it got a massive buff and absolutely cooks on moze in this game. This game has a very different sandbox than bl2 so a lot more is viable. But Harold on moze is absolutely an s tier weapon. Bekah is very good on fl4k as people have said. The conference call 1000% belongs on this list though
Something to consider is that the baby maker and bone shredder going from smg to pistol is considered a nerf due to both guns chewing through ammo the way they do and being pit on a weapon type wit lower max ammo than their previous incarnations.
It's ok for me cause I don't insta chuck it as pistol can clear a room before I run out of ammo

The Bone Shredder should've been like the Needle Gun where it was a Tediore SMG like in the first game but also a Tediore that was much better to shoot rather than reload. Lets be real everyone doesn't care about the Needle Gun's reload so why couldn't the Bone Shredder be the same?

It's my fave game in the BL series so I'm a bit biased, but the flakker was really good in TPS, combining it's big splash radius with a good cryo weapon is so funn
i'd say the sandhawk at least deserves an honorable mention here due entirely to the fact that it was changed from an smg to a sniper rifle of all things, completely destroying its max ammo count
@mr.bigshot9987 honestly, I don't think the sandhawk took that big of a hit in this game. Sure it's ammo cap is lower, but it's still the single highest per shot damage sniper in the game. Plus at endgame, ammo isn't really too hard to come by.

Heavy investment into the moze purple tree for status effect damage and green for incendiary plus a pearl and infernal wish makes the hellfire capable of killing anointed enemies. I’m an amateur build maker and even I got that thing absolutely shredding,with dots no less. As it is though on other characters yeah don’t even bother.

To be perfectly honest, Borderlands 3 dropped the ball on a lot of the legendary weapons. Sure, some are solid, but I think the biggest problem, in my opinion, has been the insanely high drop rate for most of these weapons. I told someone recently that when I replayed BL1 with my son a couple months ago, we found a combined 4 legendaries on our first playthrough. In BL2, we found 8 legendaries between the two of us. In BL3, though, we found almost 200 legendaries combined before even playing the DLC, many of which were exact repeats. This excessive drop rate devalues anything under legendary, and sadly, my son had very little desire to go back and do more in BL3. After finishing up everything in BL3, he wanted to go back to BL2, because, and I quote, "BL3 was fun, but the story sucked and the legendary drops were too frequent to feel special." I can't agree enough. Sure, BL3 plays better in almost every way, but at the end of the day, legendaries should feel rare and special. Not so regularly that I personally picked up 68 by the time I reached level 40. That's more than one per level and without grinding. haha
Tbf early play through they shouldn't drop a lot but later they should cause of all the anoints that's what makes the drop special
While not the best SMG, the Bitch was a solid SMG and worked great with a Maya build, where you could really take advantage of that bonus crit damage. 3 just gives the gun too low of base damage

Disagree with the Harold take. It’s very good in both games. Yes, it was busted in BL2 but only because it’s damage was so high. IMO BL3 did it justice by balancing the weapons perfectly to where it’s still VERY strong.
Sandhawk: Still has good builds, but it is now a sniper, which gives it a LOT less ammo.
Hellfire: .....wait, was this even in BL3???......it was?, Oh.
Bitch: Not even close to BL2 Bitch and loses to most other Legendary SMG's
At the end of the day, we just had Vault Hunter abilities (Gunzerking and B0re) which were very compatible with their game's weapons, so while some guns really are worse than their BL2 counterparts, others just will never have their full abilities used in BL3. We also don't have Slag (Goated element) in BL3, so dmg is a lot less for weapons like the Harold, as well as the complete neglect of the Slagga.
Bone Shredder was a tediore smg (bl1) than a bandit smg (bl2), to now a vladolf pistol? They shouldve changed it back to tediore with a unique reload quirk

The Ogre worked well on Moze. She could boost blast radius, and never reload. By the time Mayhem 11 came around it did start to feel weak.
You did not just say flakker was bad it's actually broken early on for moze it would clear rooms much so they nerfed it so many times it used to bypass tyreens back weakness because of its spread would instantly get her to her immunity faze on too of troys and even wiped out truant

Played with the flakker. Hell it’s easier to use than in bl2. And it slaps quite hard. The unkempt Harold continues to slap. I think old title legendaries got rebalanced. For example, the storm was meh in bl2 but slaps decently well in bl3.
The Ogre first appeared in Borderlands 1 and was better in that game than Borderlands 2 or Borderlands 3. The Unkempt Herald and the Bekah are still a excellent guns in Borderlands 3. You didn't mention the Hellfire.

Honestly the bone shredder was never really good. In BL1 it was just a worse double anarchy. It was ok for the first playthrough, but this is only because you get it very early, where your barely have any good weapons.
I feel like the Harold doesn't count.
Feels less like it got worse and more that the game was easier and therefore, it was less demanded, and there's more alternatives to it.
If anything, thanks to the changes to the Harold now being able to spawn with an elemental capacitor, I'd say it's more versatile now.

I appreciate the compliment on the quality. I've said in other comments that the flakker is probably just a skill issue to me, but I genuinely feel that the Harold is better in 2. It's a VERY strong weapon in both games, but in BL2 you could use it with no points successfully, in Borderlands 3 you have to build for it to truly wreck

@undeadinside3571 I'm wondering if that was kind of intentional. As a major plot point of BL3 was Katagawa trying to merge with Rhys to make his weapons stronger. The main thing that hold most atlas weapons back is being non-elemental, and Maliwan could've given them that.
Harold being here makes the entire list a joke, the harold is by FAR a stronger weapon in bl3 than it is in 2, top tier weapon on basically every build that involves shooting guns, and will last for ages once you get one due to legendary balancing in bl3

Im surprised when he mentioned the harold he didnt bring up the x4 variety side note the x6 varient of the butcher atleast with my experience with it consumes more ammo and for my flak build which is crit based i hold the trigger down for like 2 seconds and im reloading but if i use the x3 butcher my finger gets tired from holding it down all day with no reloads or breaks. I just farmed up an okay stakbot with 35% weapon damage and 60 some % jackobs crit dam and forgot i have a lvl 72 mayhem 10 bekah and ill have to test it out shortly to see how it does cause while using the masher varient of the clairvoyance with not even close to perfect parts i absolutely shred everything so curious to see how the bekah does.

The chapters are auto-generated, so that's on youtube lol. But these rankings were based on the weapons, not the builds. If you take the Unkempt Harold through the rounds in BL2 vs BL3 with no skills or other gear, then Borderlands 2's will significantly out-perform Borderlands 3's. As I mentioned in the pinned comment of this video, the guns aren't better than previous versions, but the characters in 3 are just significantly more powerful.

The Infinity Pistol is the only gun I used in both 2 and 3, you can totally make it viable in all situations with the right builds.

The Flakker is good. You don't know how to use it. The Hornet, Unkempt Harold, the Bekah are all good. Instead of meta defining good, they're just an option. I wish people understood that the game in BL2 wasn't great for viability for a lot of weapons. Even if they had 500 uniques and legendaries, if only 5 are good at op10, what's the point? In fact, some uniques were so much better than anything else, Gearbox purposely decided that uniques in the future were going to be pitiful things, not even to roll with anoints, that's how much they didn't like they're scaling (a little hyperbole, but seriously, only half the uniques in bl3 can roll anoints). So, I disagree with those 4 weapons being glow downs. The fact that the Hellfire, which IS a true glow down, wasn't included, just baffles the mind and strains your credibility. Weapons that should have been included: the slow hand (better in BL2, no idea why it's so weak in comparison in BL3), Hail and Heartbreaker (due to Gearbox's decree against uniques), Sledge's Shotgun (IDK what even went wrong, it's just bad in BL3), and I want to say Mongol, but honestly, it's just a sideways move of less ammo per shot vs being able to crit, so I'll give it a pass.

I will say i disagree with the infinity. It helped me through most of the game since i got lucky and pickup a new almost every time the last one started to become bullet spongy. And also i now keep one on me as a last stand pistol its great because you dont get those moments where you run out of ammo before reviving so for me its a great tool
