at the part where you're deleting the faces, it looks normal. when i do the same, my rig has curves and really weird looking parts on it. how do you fix that?
A faster way of mean creasing is going into edge select mode, going to the select menu -> select sharp edges. Then mean crease.

I'm curious. Have you ever thought about using a bend deform modifier for the hair at the front.

@@SYKKSociety If you go to modifiers and pick simple deform. Change it to bend and fiddle around with the settings to your liking. If you've seen Cubical's portal video then it will give you hair like the one on the protagonists
