  • In this video I give my thoughts on the Mercedes Benz EQC crossover SUV which I’ve owned for about 2 months. In my mind it’s quite possibly the best luxury SUV you can purchase for under 30k, if not THE best its definitely one of them. EVs aren't for everyone and if you can’t charge one at home the running costs will be no cheaper than a diesel car for most of them. But for those of us who can easily charge at home, using an EV as a daily driver is a no brainer!

Lovely car! But EVs are not environmentally friendly vehicles!

Agreed although it depends on the ev. The bmw i3 is fully carbon neutral and if charged with green energy it’s far better than ICE…. But there’s still the issue of disposing of end of life batteries. It’s definitely not a perfect solution

Depending on how it is charged how is a combustion engine any more environmentally friendly than an E.V ?

@@user-uo1jd5lk8c It would all be based on the car and wether or not the power for charge was green energy such as wind or solar. but generally speaking an ICE car with similar specs to this would pollute far more during it’s lifetime even if you charged you car using power from a fossil fuel power station. The great unknown is how are we disposing of the massive Lithium Ion batteries that power these cars and what damage is being caused by us mining for the minerals needed to make them? Personally I wouldn’t worry about it. Get an EV if you like it, if you don’t then don’t bother. Just hold out until they are mandatory.

I bought an EQC a couple of weeks ago and I agree it's a fantastic car.i found the best setting for range is comfort mode with Regen braking on auto.to select it pull the + and - paddles till auto is selected.

I’ve seen a few reviewers say they prefer regen set to auto. Personally I really don’t like it. I hate the feeling of not being in full control of when the car will brake so instead I just use the paddles to manually shift between the strengths. That way I pretty much never have to touch the brakes. That’s the beauty of this car it gives you the choice so we can all select whatever we prefer!
