Love this! Thank you! As a singer/actor who has learned some dance by being in shows (and taking my kids to dance classes!), this is so helpful! I’m trolling RUclips for combinations to work on to become more comfortable at the dance portion of my auditions.😅
Had to watch this and learn at speed .75, because I'm a totally new dancer, but this was wonderful. Thank you for the audition video Karie and all bringing all your wonderful years of experience of dance to teach us around the world.
This is so great!!! You have no clue who I am, but I have seen you in a couple shows recently at La Comedia!!! You always stick out to me. I literally saw your name in one of the programs and saw you had a RUclips so I looked you up and fell upon this video which is SO helpful for me. I’m getting ready to audition for a La Comedia show myself and I’m a singer/actress but I don’t have much dance experience. So this was a great way to learn what will be expected/some new terms! Thank you so much. You’re amazing!
@@alisia7029 It was hard to learn most of the moves and I felt kinda stupid compared to everyone else. I have autism, so it will take me some time to get it. I can't learn all those dance moves that fast. Most of the other people got it because a lot of them are dancers and have been doing it for so many years. The choreography I did at audition was a mix of Jazz, hip-hop and commercial style dancing. I did get a call back for the same costume character role in a show that I did last year and the previous years. I thought I was auditioning for Grand Carnival but it was for all the shows at the theme park I work at. If it wasn't for that experience that I already had without auditioning, I know for sure that I wouldn't have gotten a call back. I'm hoping to get other performing roles for Haunt, Grand Carnivale, Winterfest etc this season because we were told at audition that most people who auditioned and didn't get a call back will have other roles like Grand Carnival, parade etc this summer and they need a lot of performers. I just started taking ballet, tap, jazz and lyrical adult classes so I can get better at dancing and have a dance background as a performer like all my other co-workers. I was told that I am one of the best costume characters/ performers at my job but I still struggled with getting the moves down and remembering the choreography at auditions. Once I get the choreography down, I can dance lol and dance just as well as the other dancers.
@@JaejoongPrincess I've just been given an email for a dance college which has told me two days before the audition of everything I need to prepare, it's for musical theatre. I'm a strong singer/actor but as for dance... not so much. I'm nowhere near as flexible as I used to be and I'm incredibly nervous if I don't get this. I hope you do well for your next audition in summer!!

Hi Audrey - So fun that you have seen the shows at LaComedia! Glad the video was helpful 👍 Hope your audition goes well thanks for watching!
This is fab would you consider doing a tap audition dance too? I love all your videos thank you!
I will = that's a great idea! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much for this! Would you be ok with me using it for an audition? Should I credit you?
Yes! I put it up so it could be used. 👍 if there is a way to credit me is lovely if not you are still free to use it. Good luck!
Is this good for non-dancers who want to audition?
Yes! Learning this dance will help you be familiar with the elements of choreography you may be given in an audition. Good luck auditioning!
@@stillkickingwithkarie-lee6657 Thank you so much for this video! I'm trying to learn it now for an audition coming up.
@@JaejoongPrincess how was the audition? I haven't danced in years and I've got a dance in 2 days for a college.

what music should I do this dance with?
I choreographed it to “There’s Nothing Like a Show on Broadway” from the Mel Brooks musical The Producers…
