Another weakness of Dollar is that it has no matching Cover 4 Quarters, Palms, or a proper matching Cover 6/Cover 9. It has a Cover 6 Show 4, but the Cover 4 side has a Curl Flat instead of a matching Quarter Flat. That means you will most like only have to deal with Cover 2 Match, Cover 3 Seam/Drop, and Cover 4 Drop for zone coverage which makes Dollar one of the easiest defenses to pass on concept wise. Personally I still pass on Dollar players just to assert dominance lol. If they sub out their LB's for DB's and still can't stop my Air Raid attack with 8 DB's on the field, then they are trash and need to go play something else!
I can't believe I didnt think of this. Probably because I never played Dollar . . . so I wouldn't know that they had no matching principals in the game from it.
Really appreciate you sticking around this time of year, i know the game is unrealistic & can be is hard to play at times. I’ve learned that madden will never be a “real football”. They have such a small window nowadays to create a video game thats has Infinite creativity on both sides of the gridiron. The fact that they can never fully get matching principles just gets my head boiling. Good to see you in MUT really testing your limits & offense & defense keep it up sir 🥃 hopefully you continue to make more videos love your philosophy on the game of football.
Been helping me out a ton recently, already have been winning more games just from learning basic concepts from you, really looking to expand my knowledge because of you. Thank you my guy!
Playing the game the way you teach has made it fun to play. Watching your videos alone is always fun, for the record they are never long enough in my opinion thank you for the content. Wish you the best always
Just finished watching the other video for beating Dollar this is def a great combo Maybe you should think of a private group on personnel, these tips really tip the scale, I hate meta so much, it is like playing chess with just knowing one opening LOL!!! BE BLESSED BE LOVE!!! Hope all is well with you FOR REAL !!!
I would love if you did that formation theory video you hinted at. Been playing against a bunch of people who run wing pair and wing flex and im always uncertain about what to call on defense vs that. I usually go to 4-4 with mixed success, but i imagine theres something better i just haven’t tried yet
@@wheeler116 well if you have 4 dl in and 4 lbs in that 6-2 front you can quickly get to 4-4 and play Cover 3 with your 3 safeties at CB and S (the high safety gets the “ 3 safety” coverage adjustment from that too
Great stuff man. I never thought about subbing in a RT at TE to punish further. I normally just go into something under center with 2 TEs or 1TE 1FB. This year im using i-form and strong so far because my FB is a better blocker than my TE1. Regarding throwing posts and insane user range its gotta be the field being scaled down. MLB The Show suffers from the same thing. I hope you stick out more of the year with Madden. I just picked up the game a couple of weeks ago, and I can't get enough of your content.
Great video. Ive played Madden since the first one but only the last 3 years have i really tried to learn and get better at this game. I love how its like a chess match and how complex and how much strategy there is in Madden. The game really doesnt get the credit it deserves cause EA is lazy. I also like how you showed a game that you lost. Ill record games and rewatch them sometimes also and try to see what went right or wrong. Do you use practice mode often and is there any way to use a secomd controller in practice mode to make defensive adjustments when practicing on offense?
Yes. You can go to controller select screen and have your second controller on other team. Presnap you make adjustments with both controllers and then you can see how the play plays out.
In my spread book I run basically a Spread POwer Scheme... we have no undercenter but when they pinch that Gun Outside zone kills it. And the spread book has a tackle over formation in it with the outside zone. Then when they spread the line the inside zone or read option is the play.
I don't play Mut, more of a h2h or CFM guy... just don't like the cheesiness that comes with MUT. Used to play it a lot back in the day, spent way more money on packs that any normal healthy individual should, now I know better lol. So I'm not up to date on all the newest and meta cards but I saw Tommy DeVito at QB and was like... they fucking gave Tommy Cutlets a MUT card?! Lmao. Really like the way you broke things down. I love Madden, mainly because it's the only real option we have for football simulation, but my biggest gripe is definitely with the gameplay on the defensive side of the ball. How strong formations like Dollar have been for multiple games now. Even against the run, 3 down linemen sets like Dollar can be used effectively and it's mind boggling. I'm also genuinely not a big fan of the "ability" era of Madden since I guess Madden 20 now. Where abilities and xfactors are the most important thing in the game. I'd happily go back to the days where just ratings and overall mattered. Now guys have zone KO abilities all over the field, multiple linemen with inside stuff getting insane block sheds on run plays, I genuinely think the game was better before all of that. It was cool at first to see how much of an impact the abilities made, but it's wore out it's welcome for me. Big time.
Im watchin your Double Slants concept from 3 years ago and you say its basically in every playbook, but ironically its not in the Run Balanced. Im really trying to find answers right now and I'd be willing to pay $50 if you would build a new offense that resembles the Ace Raider/Singleback Bunch Ace playbook from last year. Some of these Run Balanced plays can't be added to a custom playbook... Like "PA TE Wheel - Spread Y Slot" for example. I loved the 5 wide scheme that could be audibled into Bunch Ace... it was so powerful but EA removed the Ace Raider this year. This Run Balanced is good, but to reach the best version of myself, I need to be able to run other plays too.
No need for the 50 big dawg. Maybe I will make a scheme in a different playbook and start making videos on them. I actually think Ace Raider is the same as Empty Patriot . . . you may want to check out empty patriot and see if you can do the same scheme I had from last year. I can't check now, but I'll check in an hour. Do you run a custom book? If not, what book do you run?
I have been running a custom yes, but I wanted to use the PA TE Wheel so badly that I switched to the Run Balanced and Ive definitely had bright moments, but I just can't run the ball like I want from that playbook and it doesn't have Singleback Bunch Ace which is my baby. lol Im a mess right now bro... I am also not seeing "Ace Patriot". Ive looked up and down all year through the Empty formatons trying to find another Ace Raider. @@XandoFootball
Ace raider and empty patriot are the same formation with pretty much the same plays, I’m pretty sure Xando has a playlist with the raiders playbook scheme on his channel.
@@XandoFootballDifferent scheme and different playbook?! I’m here for any content. A playbook with some added in Empty from you would be a spectacular way to end this Madden cycle!

You’re absolutely right. I’m glad you pointed that out
Couldn’t you just change that curl assignment to a quarter flat and run it as a Quarters match?

I use goalie 6-2 with 4-4 personnel and audible to 4-4 it will confuse most people pretty well, and you can always reset to goaline as well

I agree with everything you said. Horrible for the game and just a way for them to make money.
Would counter with trips y off work against 6-1?? Or a y counter, where the tackle TE is the puller..

The angles of blocking are better, *relative* to the lineman simply just not even attempting to block in 23… not Rlly an improvement though…
