I expect to see your channel grow big. You're a great musician/nstructor
I began playing bass one year ago. Bought a tablature book.
Unril i learned the notes on the fretboard, and scales, chords, arpeggios, i can find the key(ish) by my chord wheel and now, by ear, and a little diging. Thank you. It makes me pull out the bass dailey, with improvement every time, for me...😊
I play to chords and lyric like karyoke, where chords follow the lyrics. I found over time if i could find the scale where most chords or notes reside, i find i can kinda throw in what are called chromatics, where not being in key, any fill or chromatic might sound out of key. That's key.

This lesson is so amazing, Dan! You explain everything clearly and you make us understand the most important things we have to understand while analyzing basslines. I love this lesson. Great choice of basslines also! Thank you for that ❤️

Great lesson, Dan. Piecing apart riffs and then making my own from them is what made the bass finally click. Practice this!

Ok, I don't think the teacher understands that Parliament funkadelic borrowed totally from rock music. They were famous for the screamin 🎸🎸's

The teacher does understand that and mentioned it in the full lesson. The teacher is not a complete idiot. Thanks. 😂

I know Dan's not that guy. Haha

I think another point relating to this is: if you don't like something in a song, learn it, with proper context, so you know when you want to avoid that. If you don't like the darkness in metal songs, you can staying in the tritone in your songs, as an example.

Great lesson Dan. Very helpful as I've been trying to work out some carol kaye basslines from David axelrod songs. Rather tricky.

Seem to be mainly based on arpeggios with some pentatonic scales for flourishes. The tone is to die for.
