"A Vindicare should not be mistaken for a human being. Contrary to a human being, who is filled with distractions, memories, and connections to others, a Vindicare is a well oiled machine. He was raised and trained, from birth, that the only reason he wasn't dead, raped, ruined, or suffered under any other horrible abuse that we could think of, was because of the Emperor. They were taught that they were selfish monsters, to even think of being different from their fellows. Their vocabulary is limited to only that which they need. Any deviation is punished by torture. They were taught to hide from their teachers and administrators, and to only come out when the mission was complete, and only when they received word from an authority figure that acted the impeccable imperial. Any deviation was punished with torture. The sense of smell is cultivated carefully. We have attempted to teach them to tell the difference of weapons by discharge smell. Any exposure to perfume, or anything pleasant and unneeded in their missions is punished by torture. Callidus require some socialization to blend in. Culexus, with their small pool of recruits have need to take in any they can find. Eversor, their combat drugs do the trick. Never shall you find any more well disciplined than a Vindicare."

I was actually expecting a hollowpoint bullet flesh bloom... disappointed...
The title Bloom. I think it's more of a mix of lighting from muzzle flash being compared with how life and the universe can be shots in the dark that flash, develop, and give change, kind of lone a growing plant. A tree of things to come and happen from the fiery seeds of interjection. Such comes from choices made where you choose, or choose not to, deliver your wrath. Like those very blooms of light of muzzleflash in an otherwise un caring universe.

@@stevensanders6696 in the story, it was explained that his training was messed up to begin with do to some heresy in the upper echelon of his handlers, and this wasn't his first mistake. His first mistake was swept under the rug and he was used again due to the sizable demand for vindicare assassins and people not wanting to own up to creating flawed products (Vindicare assassins). This wouldn't even be the first, nor the most damaging time an assassin went rogue in actual canon. That one was an experimental one, and not a Vindicare one though. Still fan made, still unlikely reason, still not canon, but still beloved story.

Unpopular opinion I know but I seriously think this whole story has a lot of potential could tell the story of a killing machine learning how to become human and eldar learning that there are more to humans than being monkey and eventually getting that stick shoved up to fall out and explore a more grounded and personal view of the 40K units

I always liked that moment in the story because it is ultimately true. No matter how hard you try to bury it, Burn it, Destroy it from the very beginning. Sometimes a piece of humanity simple takes a stand and says "No, I will not follow your orders. I am my own man." It seams like something out of a storybook. Something from a tale, but it happens. It has happened before, and It will happen again, and thank God for that.
Reminds me of my journey out of Catholicism.
But good thing this isn't canon to Warhammer 40k. Humanity first.
It also means a lot considering the Sniper's profession and the conditioning that comes with his role in the military.
In the story, Livii (the sniper) has been described as having trouble speaking basic English when he talked to Taldeer, (the Eldar).
I personally, really like the story because in the story itself. It acknowledges the ramifications the interaction and desertion from a lore perspective.

in Dawn of War 2 - Retribution, the Farseer in the Campaign HAD such a "confuse" ability ...
@@Hitoshuratdn I actually wish it was. I get that everything is supposed to be grim dark, but sometimes you need some light to contrast it as well. That way when it gets snuffed out the grim dark aesthetic becomes a bit more powerful, if that makes any sense.
To be fair, I do find this incredibly beautiful.
What makes the Imperium stand out it's not its power, its steel and its mercilessness... it's the fact that, at the end of the day, the soldiers of the Imperium are still humans. There are many other races that are stronger, crazier, more cruel and more powerful than the humans, but the latter still hold the ground and resist, all the while remaining human.
And sometimes, being human means feeling pity and being merciful. Sometimes, to BE human means doing the right thing, even if it's opposed to everyone else's expectation.
Sometimes, you just have to be BETTER than the things you fight against, if just to have something to distinguish you from them.
If she was instead a fat, ugly man would you still think it was the right thing to do?

Particularly the Blood Raves have a strong connection with them as Gabriel Angelos worked with them to defeat Chaos on Tartarus and throw back the Tyranids or something. All this heresy nonsense (whether joking or meant serious) is also getting out of hand. Stop making the same old joke.

To be fair, if there was a situation for a Vindicare to disobey orders, it’s in this one. The Vindicares unlike most spec ops organizations within the Imperium have not had their emotions removed only heavily suppressed through lots of psychological torment in training to the point of near non existence, think of it like a guardsman of Krieg they still have complex emotions they’ve just been so repressed that they show only rarely. A human male’s mind will be reluctant to kill in this situation given that their mind has not been physically altered in any way. The Eldar is alone, not doing anything bad, pretty, and dying, if there is a point where such an occurrence will happen it is in this situation.
Eldar can be pretty frightening psykers though, right? It could be a considerable threat to him.

Still good rolls. It is surprisingly easy for a Vindicare to fail at killing a target. Whether it's failing to hit, failing to wound, failing to get through the opponent's regular armour, or just rolling piss poor on damage. There are lots of opportunities to roll a 1, and I've never once succeeded at killing anything with a vindicare, even 3 of them firing at the same target without moving.
As a vivid fan of both the game and the lore surrounding 40k, my hat goes of to you sir for not only your dedication but having the balls to step outside the box created by some peoples views that the 40k universe is so linear in terms of how a race or individual should act. Yes the Imperium as a whole is fanatical and driven by tradition to behave the way they do, but it should never rule out the underlining fact that we are human, and each human has their own personality and view on the imperium and the Emperor.
I will say I find it hard to see a Vindicare Assassin suddenly holding feelings for the Eldar, as they are trained from birth to be the Imperiums finest killers, but I am open to the idea purely because I love it when rules are bent, it adds to that unpredictability as to why.

Dude, you're a great animator but you need to get some better models. The old Dawn of War 1/2 stuff doesn't do your work justice.
If you ever gain enough support on Patreon to commission some custom Source models alongside some high quality original textures then do it. Your directing style is strong, the depth of field effects were used flawlessly, editing, sound design and voice acting was all of a high quality and although the walk cycles/Combat against the Necrons weren't the best you're still a hundred times better than most of the SFM community and you can very clearly see the models are what was holding your talent back.
Just get in contact with some 3D Modelists and texture artists who have experience with the source engine.
It will bump you up to the next level.

Just found this. Great to see Aeldari make an appearance in a fan made video. I feel like they are probably the hardest to animate because their movements are supposed to be so graceful (Having her injured neatly sidestepped that problem). Would love to see more of this.
The idea a child taken from a war torn planet forced to survive in near unsurvivable conditions, spent their whole life alone without any real interaction with people other than through a scope, trained to be a unthinking, uncompromising killing machine, suddenly given pause when he sees a target is highly unlikely...but not impossible. Imagine only ever seeing people through a scope, and suddenly seeing such irradiant beauty, the shock would set in your through your whole body, or the very least monkey nuerons would be firing. The dialogue is clunky, but I'd imagine hes more hesistant out of curiosity, like a cat, could such beauty really exist? or is it just a xenos trick?
