I have the Kakwa 40 and pack it similarly to you - bedding and spare clothing in a liner but without the quilt stuff sack(save the weight, it'll compress just fine without it), then other stuff on top of that. The taller side pocket is big enough to take a tent, so I put mine in there - my 'stick' stuff (poles, fishing rod etc) goes in the other side pocket. I wish Dan had made the hip belt pockets larger but you can't have everything.
That sounds like a good way to organize. Dan commented that he did not want to make the pockets any larger because the get in the way at some point. He is very reaponsive to suggestions if you want to send in a comment. Thanks for the information and let me know what you would like to see.
Thank you for the economical packing demonstration! 2/3 of my country is rocky desert so 5 days outside mean a freestanding tent and 3L a day in the winter.
I have watched a lot of packing videos but this has too be my favourite especially as i have the Kakwa.
Thank you so much Patrick! I have thought of getting the 55 liter for shoulder season and winter but canton really afford it right now. Take care.

Wow! Three liters a day is a lot to deal with. Happy hiking.
Thanks, this is the one vid about the Kakwa that has convinced me to get one.
There have been some nice updates to the original as well. Good luck and enjoy!
Thank you!! This helps a ton!

Awesome, thank you!

Hi,
What is the soft foam mat for if you had the Nemo air one?
Thanks ☺️
The 1/8 inch foam mat is used mostly to protect the air matress in case something pokes through the bottom. Some good it did me though :)
awesome thanks.
